I even confirmed the price during the phone call because I wanted to make sure I understood correctly. The order was very simple , plain doughnuts, half maple and half chocolate. When I came in on Wednesday to pick them up, I added 4 additional doughnuts at the counter for my family. The total came out to $62, which was more than double what I had been quoted. I asked if the amount was correct and explained that I had been told $30 for the original order. The employee recalculated it and still said it was correct, then asked if I still wanted them. Unfortunately, this put me in a very uncomfortable position because there were people behind me, my children were with me, and the doughnuts were for my daughter's school class. I felt embarrassed and pressured into paying an amount I was not prepared for based on the quote I had received. Mistakes happen, but the situation was handled with very little concern or effort to make it right. The experience left a bad impression, and I won't be returning.

The donuts are fresh baked in small batches. So the selection and quantity can vary depending on the time of day. Delight is a mom n pop donut shop located in an small nondescript shopping plaza in the suburbs of Cameron Park off Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive. It's not a fancy schmanzy donut shop with an Instagram wall or a gimmick. What they got are fresh baked donuts served by a hardworking family. They have some indoor seating which is nice. It gives me a place to chomp down my donuts other than sitting in my car.

I don't eat donuts, but I love apple fritters and consider myself a connoisseur. But, they did have a delicious, fresh looking maple bar with what looked like fresh-cooked bacon bits on them. The chocolate croissant was not flaky or crispy, but had that classic donut shop chewy texture, and of course, was loaded with chocolate. After this incident, we went back to them expecting at least an apology. What did they do? They offered to refund $29.35 and didn't even say "I'm sorry." And again -- this is not speculation. Their last health inspection specifically pointed out negligence around food safety, including improper storage and handling of ham and cheese croissants -- exactly the item that made my son sick. This is beyond disappointing. This is dangerous. If they can't keep bread and ham safe to eat -- something you serve every day -- then how can anyone trust them with any food?
