We stopped in to have some coffee after a group walk this morning. We had some time to kill before lunch. We each had a dirty chai latte and they were delicious! They came out pretty quickly too. The customer service is always incredible here. Everyone is so kind, and their cheerful moods are contagious. I've usually taken my coffee to go, so didn't pay much attention to the seating, but since we hung out today I noticed! There is a good amount of seating of various types. I do like that they have the bar seating in particular as an option. I will always stop by here when I'm in this part of town. Worth the trip every time. read more

We only planned to grab a quick coffee to go, but before leaving we took time to soak in the atmosphere and learn more about what makes this place so special. No regrets whatsoever. Bitty & Beau's was founded by Amy and Ben Wright, parents of four children--Lillie, Emma Grace, Beau, and Bitty. Lillie has autism, and Bitty and Beau have Down syndrome. After learning that more than 80% of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are unemployed nationwide, the Wrights set out to create a place where people with disabilities are valued, empowered, and given meaningful work. Their solution: a coffee shop built around inclusion, kindness, and an unforgettable staff. The first location opened in Wilmington, NC in January 2016, employing 19 individuals with disabilities--and the mission has only grown from there. The coffee itself was very good, but the heart of this place is what truly stands out. The warmth, pride, and sense of purpose inside the shop is something you feel immediately. This venture really hit home for me. It would have been an incredible place for my brother to work, had circumstances been different. With a warm smile and greeting as soon as I stepped in the door, I was happy to enjoy a mellow 16oz Americano with the toasted brown sugar syrup with an extra shot of espresso. It served its caffeine purpose and went down easy. The coffee "seasonings," (honey and a bottle of simple cane syrup with a pump) were conveniently placed at the bar. It's really pretty inside and I enjoyed all of the visual declarations of their mission statement. The gold stools are a nice touch with the simplicity of the black chalk interior. read more

Whenever I come to JAX this is where I like to get my coffee from. They have great coffees, lattes, frappe's, and they also do serve some eatery items. The mini burritos are pretty tasty. We came here on a whim for coffee. I'm never really in this area, just due to proximity to where I live, but was excited to try a new-to-me coffee shop. We walked in and were quickly greeted by a gentleman at the register. We decided to order two large iced lattes. He quickly ran me up, I paid, and then was given a playing card (which is used as your pickup item when picking up your coffee). The inside of this location is industrial-esque looking. They have merch, bakery items, and coffee and tea items for purchase. They also have a bunch of tables inside and out. When our order was ready, we grabbed it, got some sugars, and headed back to the car. My first sip was a bit strong for my liking. I will say whatever roast they used for the lattes was super strong. Next time I'll ask for a lighter roast. All in all this was a good experience. read more

I came across this coffee shop due to my friend's suggestion and I'm so glad I went! I met up with a friend and upon waking in, the shop is so cozy!! Everything was clean and plenty of space to walk around and look at their merchandise! They had shirts, mugs, cups, etc. I learned more about their cause and how their coffee shop is run by people with disabilities. That made me even love and appreciate their shop even more!! As someone with a disability myself (I have tumefactive multiple sclerosis), it really touched my heart in regard to their mission. The customer service was super pleasant and everyone was so sweet and kind! After you place your order, you're given a playing card (like a number/suit of diamonds, spades, clovers, hearts) and when your order is done, they will call your card to pick up your order! I ordered the matcha strawberry iced oat latte, blueberry bagel, and cookies and cream rice crispy treat. Matcha strawberry latte: 9/10- I enjoyed this very much and the sweetness level was perfect for me. They used strawberry syrup and despite it not being real strawberries, it didn't taste artificial at all! The matcha was good quality and wasn't super bitter. I like my matcha drinks where I can actually taste the matcha's earthy and grassy taste. The matcha with the strawberry went together so well. I would absolutely get this again! And it was so cute that the barista wrote a sweet note and drew a star on the cup as well. Made my entire week! Blueberry bagel: 7/10 - it was pretty good but not something super special. It came perfectly toasted with some cream cheese on the side. I like how fresh the bagels were! Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie: 8/10 - pretty huge! I was shocked how big the treat was! You can feed 2 people from one treat! It was pretty delicious, but really sweet! I could only do a few bites before it became too sweet for me. I love how it came wrapped too! Whenever I'm done eating it, I can reseal it and enjoy the rest at another time! They have other items on the menu and I can't wait to try the other goodies as well! Finally had a chance to visit this highly recommended coffee shop and passion project. The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is choice! Coffee mugs, aprons, T-shirts and other branded swag filled the long rows of shelves. The barista Michael got my brewed coffee for me and was very friendly. The coffee was delicious! I had a medium blend. So a lot of non-starbucks coffee shops have marked prices and intensely strong almost fruit flavored coffee. Maybe not the best description but it happens often. As a mom, one detail I loved was the high chairs that were available. They also have changing tables in both the men's and women's restroom. (The women's restroom was super clean and pleasant). I was lucky enough to meet Lissie, the owner, and see her engaging with employees and customers. Her heart is certainly in her work and people chatting with her walk away smiling. I have wanted to try out Bitty & Beau's since they opened! My husband and I stopped yesterday and I'm so glad we did! What a great little coffee shop! Lexi took our order at the counter and she did a fantastic job. She was so sweet and welcomed us in. I ordered an iced black coffee and my husband ordered a black coffee hot. I collect diner style mugs so Lexi wrapped that up nicely for us and even slipped in a handwritten postcard. We sat down to wait for our order and had a chat with Coach who was also working behind the counter. Coach asked if we knew the concept behind Bitty & Beau's and I explained that I did and that I had been following the store's opening on social media and through the news. I love the concept, they employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This shop not only appreciates them but celebrates their diversity. We're not over in San Marco very often but my husband and I both said we would make a coffee date soon just so we could return! Bitty and Beau's are in 12 states and has about 24 combined locations. So Florida gets its first shop and it sets camp in the city of Jacksonville. That's right....DUUUVAL!!! This is one shop I have been looking forward to checking out. First of.. I love, breathe and bleed coffee. They are located in the busy strip of San Marco. Stepping inside, you get this cool, modern vibe of a coffee shop. We were greeted by Allison. Allison took our order, and she was guided by trainer, Maddie. Allison was such a sweetheart. After placing our order, we were greeted by another worker, "JB". He was super nice. Between the 4 of us of the group I was with, we automatically became "JB fans". And the best part, our coffee was made just right. What is more to ask. This is one shop I pray for great success.
