    Stuffed Pork Loin
    Jason Z.

The food was very good. I got the stuffed pork loin. It was cooked very nicely. It was delicious. My wife got the Drunken Chicken Parm, which I was torn between. I think I made the right choice. It was good, but the pork was better. The service was good. The restaurant was nice looking, fancy enough for a water park.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with my children. The secret I have learned is to make your reservations nice and early (meaning when you book, not necessarily early in the evening). Destiny was our server and he was very attentive. Kids had soda and I had a glass of Matua ($12). It was fruity and bold for a Sauvignon Blanc. For appetizer we all shared the French onion soup. An oversized crock, with endless cheese and onions. Surprisingly I found myself adding both salt and pepper. Didn't detract from the delicious flavor- perhaps they cater to a crowd palette that is more neutral. I'd order again. Son had chicken fingers and fries off the kids menu (ate them all, shocker). Daughter had Bigsby burger and really enjoyed it and I had the shrimp and grits at the recommendation of our server, Destiny. Do not sleep on the Shrimp and Grits. I know you're going to be lured by the delicious looking chicken parm- trust me, this was a hard decision. It almost came down to a coin flip. On the one hand the chicken parm swimming in spaghetti with vodka sauce kept coming out of the kitchen ordered in popularity much like an assembly line at a wedding with one food choice. But on the other hand, the promise of blacked shrimp, blister tomatoes, chorizo and cheesy grits swimming in pan juice........ so what made me decide? Destiny say the four magic words "if you're looking for a cream dish." Yes, I know, more than 4 words but my brain only heard "looking for creamy dish". All in all I'd revisit Bixbys. When visiting water park restaurants you need to have managed expectations. The staff is going to be grossly UNDERSTAFFED, and working tons of overtime. They are tired. They are doing the best they can. Smile, enjoy, ask them how they are doing- it's funny how when you put good out there, good returns. Looking forward to returning!

    Pork buns - too salty.

I was nervous after reading all the horrible reviews. I was pleasantly surprised - we had a great meal. The burger was fantastic! Cooked to perfection with caramelized onions and crispy bacon. My husband had the salmon which he enjoyed. The chopped salad was very good with the right amount of dressing - it was a shallot vinaigrette. The pork buns appetizer was ok - too salty for me. It took away from the flavor. The service was just fine - I will say though they had just opened and we were the first table seated. We were seated in a cozy comfy booth that had a private feel. Very tall booths. The kids enjoyed their meals.

This is the result of waiting for so long with no information from the staff, my niece eating cup o noodles. Great time at Kart'wrong'

7:15 reservations, the time is now 8:45. Still no food, no apps. We were offered croutons...yes croutons will fill my 7 year old niece's stomach. Literally every single table that came in after us got their food. After numerous complaints to multiple people, they offered no resolution. All they said was "there's nothing I can do". BS! How can there be no back up plan? The least they should have done is stop everyone else's order and rush out ours since we've been there for more than an hour. Please fire your kitchen staff and "managers" or at least train them better. F Kartrite, F Bixby's

App was the only part I loved. Still waiting for the rest of my food almost an hour later.

Really sad to leave this review as it started out great but really went downhill fast. We did the Hudson Valley Week special which was $44 a plate. The apps were great but our main was totally cold and we had to ask for our check before we even got the rest of our meal because service was so very slow. Even after asking for the check and the rest to be boxed we have sat here for about 20 minutes just waiting. Had the potential to be great but was just a flop. Definitely should not be on the Hudson Valley Week list.

The burger was massive, delicious and cooked medium rare as I'd ordered it. The fries were tasty, too. The cookies though - if you love super soft and rich cookies you will love these! It's an old theatre so quite historic to be eating inside. The decor is very unique like you walked into someone's home for dinner with the family. The food is made fresh. Lettuce and tomato are organic, beef is never frozen, they have fresh home made potato chips. Their burger is HUGE on a brioche bun. It's the greasy gourmet burger that is filling and worth the money. Their Cajun shrimp Mac and cheese is delicious! Ending it with their organic Mexican coffee was the perfect dessert. Only thing to remember is that there's no bathrooms so you have to go next door to Nellys sports bar. With that in mind, there's one chef making all the food so you sacrifice some time for fresh made food which is still well worth it. There's street parking in front of the store.

For this reason, I decided to go with an Arnold Bennet skillet that included smoked trout. If you at all like the thought of lox and eggs, then you definitely need to try this one. It also had Parmesan, chives, and crème fraiche mixed in. The taste of this combination on a piece of toast was delicious! And something I would happily enjoy again and at reasonable prices. Plus, it was enough food that I finished it for breakfast the next morning. The seating area looks and feels like a typical NY diner. Our waitress was quick and efficient and the coffee was good and fresh. Especially with the limited number of dining locations in the Catskills area, Phoenicia diner is definitely worth a stop.

Once you enter through the store, there is a sign to wait to be seated. The place has a nice and bright rustic vibe to it. I really liked the decor and table setup. Even the napkins had a rustic vibe. Started off with the potato scoop ($16) which was my fave item. The potato was shaped like the Fritos scoop chip, and the cheese dip that came with it had chunks of cheese in a melted cheese sauce. For my main, got the pulled pork sandwich ($16), which came in a pretzel knot bun and creamy slaw. It was solid meal and very filling. Other mains ordered were the roast beef "pho" style sandwich ($16) which I had a bite of and it was good and not what I expected thinking roast beef. Roast turkey ($16) was warm and also tasty. Each of the mains came with a side of potato salad. I will be back to try the sloppy Joe and their dinner meals. I highly recommend this place if you want tasty, high quality meal for a fair price. * Highly recommend making reservations on weekends * Street parking * Good service
