    Amazing.

Thank you so much for the phenomenal cake. I have never seen or tasted anything quite like it. It was excellent. It far exceeded my expectations and made for a beautiful birthday party for an 80-year-old friend. The cake arrived right on time when you said it would and the gentleman who delivered was fantastic. Again I can't thank you enough for making this day so spectacular. We will definitely be using you for all future events. I wish there were more stars above to give you as it was 100 times better then GREAT. Thank you Bjorn Cakes, Thomas Jenkins-Kmetz Chicago, IL

The box they handed me without letting me know which side was up or down or how it was packaged.

Ordered a cake during the pandemic for my wife's birthday. Go to pick it up, and the guy pulls out a box from the freezer willy-nilly. Puts the box on the counter and says here you. Nothing else. I figure okay, must be in the box wrapped or protected. Wrong! Just a cake loosely thrown in a cardboard box to float around. Thanks for the heads up. $150 plus a $30 tip for a cake that I wanted to look nice and it's loosely placed in a box, and nobody wants to tell me how it's packaged. Great follow through. Other note: yea, tastes great.

I had the best experience with Bjorn Cakes and will forever be a customer! I ordered a cake from the website very last minute, requesting a next day delivery for my friend's 30th Birthday. I called the day of delivery to check-in and he informed me that the cake was done early and they can happily deliver it earlier than I had expected. He also sent me a photo to ensure that I was happy, and it exceeded my expectations...the cake was STUNNING!! Thank you so much, my friend cried when she received it!!

I contacted Bjorn cakes for my son's second b day. This was the first time using them so I was worried if they would be able to make the cake I wanted. They did not disappoint at all. His Sesame Street cakes turned out on point. And the cake it self tasted so good. My guests and I were very impressed.

After panicking & realizing I didn't make arrangements for my wife's bday in due time Bjorn came in quite clutch for me. After a quick google & yelp search for "custom cakes" I found them & after a voice mail inquiry I received a call back. The cakes are extremely expensive but the taste & quality are damn near worth it. I ordered a "marble orchid" cake & chose red velvet as a flavor. You can add extra things such as nutella so I have to admit the flavors are unique & original. The online ordering process was straightforward & tbh pretty damn effortless. I even made arrangements to pick the cake up prior to my reserved timeframe. I'll have to challenge their capabilities with a cake for my daughter next time but for now they've gained a new customer.

All I will say is this cake business is AWESOME! Highly recommend them. I ordered a cake for my sisters baby shower and it was a work of art and absolutely delicious.

Cake was delicious and exactly what we asked for. They also delivered the cake to us on the North Shore (suburbs of Chicago), which was super helpful and convenient. Highly recommend the vanilla bean pastry filling!

The cake is supposed to have a marble design...please see the last photo from their website and compare it to what I received. Also, they skimped on flowers and macarons. For the price tag, I don't think it's worth it. Will update this once I've tasted it.

So happy that Bjorn Cakes was able to make a very special cake for a very special grandson's 4th birthday! The cake was a big hit with him and our whole family! Thank You so much Ana for taking the time to find out the special requests to make them all come true!

Oh my soo yummy!!! We had our small wedding on July 5th 2021 and we got a red velvet cake. We had party of about 20 and the 6 or 8 inch (can't remember) cake was perfect. We even have left overs for later. It arrived on time. They put way more flowers on top then I was expecting. It looked great. Also the icing had a lemon zing to it!!! Was not expecting that.loved it .it was like red velvet cake on steroids. will be using them again when we do our larger wedding later.

Bjorn Cakes are not only beautiful but so YUMMY!!! I ordered the strawberry shortcake and it was so delicious! My husband was so happy with his birthday cake!! Thank you all so much!

I had emailed asking if they could do what I had in mind, I couldn't find a picture that was even similar so they just had to go by what my description was and it turned out amazing! They were quick to respond, very friendly and were so flexible with the customizations! They do delivery, the handoff was super friendly, quick and efficient. The cake comes in a box that is wrapped to store in your fridge. It turned out PERFECT and everyone LOVED it! I even had people tell me that this was the best cake they've ever had. This is a small business just starting out, so if you are not sure, do it, because you're supporting a new startup business and you will not be disappointed (: I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

Beautiful cake - fell short on flavor
    Abby I.

Update; I'm adding a star since the owner of Bjorn Cakes offered to make another cake or refund $$ Just ok. S100 cake which may serve 6-7 people (one slice), "strawberry shortcake" flavor with sprinkle drip frosting, adorable, but lacking something in the flavor department. The cake itself was a tad dry, buttercream frosting heavy, and the "strawberries " were hiding. Blahhhh

All edible except for the flowers. The shoe on top was even edible and it tasted delicious. Bjorn Cakes rock!

I didn't love the graham cracker because it had a strong buttery taste, but I get that it's needed to hold it together. Without that, it would've been a 9/10. The cheesecake topping tasted almost like custard and paired well with the blueberry cupcake base. Chocolate sea salt caramel... 10/10. This might actually be one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. Rich chocolate cake, caramel sauce in the middle, buttercream that wasn't too sweet, and the salt on top tied everything together perfectly. Peach cobbler was insane. 1000/10. It tasted like pumpkin pie and apple pie combined, probably from all the cinnamon. Not overly sweet, super light cream, and just perfection. Definitely worth the hype. I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

I chose a blueberry scone and a cheddar and onion scone. I was a tiny bit disappointed they didn't have the lemon scone I saw in their online order page, but the fruity blueberry option fit the bill. I also ordered a cappuccino to go. Service was good, and I really appreciated being asked if I wanted separate bags for the scones, which ensured the blueberry scone didn't pick up any oniony smell or flavor from the other scone. The scones were excellent! Massive in size, they had a nice tender and crumbly texture, as well as plenty of fillings (so to speak). The cappuccino was fine, not as smooth as I like, but the terrific scones made it well worth the trip. The space is well laid out with multiple tables. None were taken at the time, as people were getting to go orders instead. I thought prices were reasonable: each scone was $5, which seemed fair given how large and high quality they were (not to mention the higher prices I'm seeing in some newer bakeries in the area). Other offerings looked good, too, but this is definitely the place to go if you're craving scones.
