As delicious as they look! They're usually filled with some sort of crème or filling in the middle that makes the cupcake extra fun to eat. There are so many flavors to choose from I'm sure there's something for everyone in here. On top of that, the woman behind the counter was friendly and not pushy (like some others are). We are inside because it was raining and the interior was surprisingly modern. Only complaint is how weirdly low the chairs are. Not docking points for that though. I highly recommend coming here! -AT
This place is located in the west loop area. The staff were friendly and attentive. They have a wide selection of cupcakes that you can choose from. I decided to go with the butter, scotch and the cream Brulé,. The cream Brulé is ridiculously amazing and I highly recommend. The butterscotch was not as tasty it was a little dry. The prices are decent. There are plenty of tables where you can sit down and enjoy your delicious treats. The decor is nice and fun. They have street parking where you can pay to park. No one informed me of any rewards program when you pay if you ever have you square it shows up as Muslim company and you get an email which can be a little confusing. I hope you enjoy.
This place is amazing! I love cupcakes! They are one of my favorite desserts and having moved from Los Angeles, I've been looking for a great dessert place, and THIS IS IT. I knew I was going to be in the area rather late and that by the time I got there, they might be out of some flavors, so I called in the early afternoon and put my 6 on hold. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and offered for me to pay over the phone or in person when I picked up. After deliberating which to get, I settled on: -peach cobbler: this has vanilla cake with brown sugar strussel, filled with peach cinnamon purée, topped with whipped cream and a sliver of peach. This is hands down the BEST cupcake I have ever had in my life! This thing is just sooooo good! It's no wonder they won cupcake wars with it. Seriously, if you're torn between what to get, just get this. You will be so happily surprised! I love peaches and peach cobbler is one of my favorite pies, but I had no idea a cupcake could be so good. It is balanced so well between fruit sweetness and the creaminess of whipped cream, and yet it is so light. I could eat several of these in a row! It's unlike any cupcake you've had before. -salted butterscotch caramel: wow! This is my second favorite. This has butterscotch pudding inside and salted buttercream frosting and caramel drizzle on top. In general, I'm a fan of butterscotch and caramel, but I love it when the sweetness is cut by salt. I mean- such a perfect rounded out flavor profile. Sweet and salty, you can't go wrong. So, when I read that they had this cupcake, I went for it, and I'm glad I did. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was sooo moist and just the perfect sweetness to salt ratio. -cookie dough: this is good, but not my fav. The first cupcake I ever had that had cookie dough inside was in LA at cafe23 and that was amazing. This one, is good, but it's not excellent. Maybe, that's because I had such high expectations of this being my favorite, that I let myself down. That or, their other cupcakes just blew this one out of the water. - crème brûlée: I was pleasantly surprised by this. The staff member working said this was his favorite and I can see why. It's not my favorite, but I get the appeal. Personally, I love crème brûlée. I almost always get it when it's on the menu, and that may be why I liked but didn't love this. I would get it again, if I were hankering for a crème brûlée, but I would get the peach cobbler or the butterscotch everyday. -chocolate decadence: this has chocolate cake, with chocolate moose, topped with chocolate ganache. It is essentially the best chocolate cake you've ever had, except in the shape of a cupcake. If you're craving chocolate, get this and you won't be disappointed. -Samoa: I didn't try this, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. He agreed that of the 6, the peach was the best though.

Only got two but eager to come back and try even more of the flavors! Staff was super nice even though I came in 5 minutes before closing. I ordered the Peach Cobbler and the Creme Brulee. While they are slightly smaller than other boutique cupcakes, the flavors are well-cultivated and refined.
By far the best cupcakes I have ever had! Forget about all those other cupcake places in Chicago, they cannot compare to Molly's. I have never had a more soft, moist, or flavorful cupcake. None of the cupcakes were overly sweet. I got 6 different flavors and not one was a disappointment. Here's a breakdown: - Cake Batter: Icing was light, fluffy, and not too sweet like most store bought cupcakes. The center was exactly like cake batter in consistency and taste. - Blueberry cheesecake: Tasted just like a blueberry muffin. - Crème brulee: Somehow it makes you feel as if you are eating crème brulee. Fruit on top is a nice touch to break up the sweetness. - Peach cobbler: The icing on top is basically whipped cream, it is so fluffy and light. Dusted with cinnamon on top and filled with spiced peach, it is sure to bring a smile to your face. - Ron Bennington: Chocolate and peanut butter, how can you go wrong? The icing on top melts in your mouth. Just heavenly. - Samoa: Perhaps the most well known and definitely the crowd favorite. Can't stop thinking about the whipped cream topping with shredded coconut, chocolate drizzle, and gooey caramel center. You can be sure I will be back to try all of the other flavors!
I always get Molly's cupcakes and we decided to try a cake for my birthday. My boyfriend forgot to order it 48 hours in advance, but they still accepted our order with some modifications! With everything going on with the pandemic, this was greatly appreciated. We got a chocolate decadence cake and it tastes just like the cupcake. I absolutely loved it! The only downside was the thickness of the frosting. It was about an inch thick, but the cake was rich and moist and the ganache was not overpowering. I'd definitely get another cake from them and I'll continue buying their cupcakes.
Tonight I ordered delivery through DoorDash and got a bunch of items, including an order for two eclairs. There was no issues with the timing but when the delivery showed up I was disappointed with the fact that (at the time) I thought there was a mistake and they had two cupcakes instead of giving me two eclairs. Sent a note to DoorDash and they credited me $2 and said they would talk to the restaurant. As I was cleaning up tonight I saw what I thought was a receipt in the bag but it was a note explaining what happened and that they ran out of eclairs. Talk about feeling like a complete jerk! I just called the store and profusely apologized. I'm sure they never get any happy callers or positive feedback but in this case I was completely wrong and should've looked through everything before making assumptions. Thank you for great work and service! Molly's has been one of my personal favorites since the early days and the fact they're in the S Loop near me is just awesome!
Molly's never fails! I've ordered Molly's several times from my Birthday cupcake, to quarantine parties, to random drop ins. Molly's has a variety of regular cupcakes, as well as chocolate and vanilla vegan cupcakes. They also have coffee, lates, teas, etc! I'd love to see MORE VEGAN DESSERT OPTIONS from Molly's, but otherwise I have no complaints :)
Molly's Cupcakes has a lot of unique cupcakes in their display case. The one that really caught my eye was the creme brulee cupcake! There was a cream filling inside, the cake batter was moist, and the top had the hardened sugar. There was a lot of cute decor inside, and the worker was super friendly and helpful. read more

Molly's Cupcakes has been a Chicago favorite of mine since I was in High School. I moved away to Minnesota, so now whenever I'm back and near a location I drag whomever is with me for a cupcake! This time around, we were nearby at the Guinness Brewery and I saw there was a Molly's a few blocks away. We stopped in at about 5:45 on a Sunday and the place was empty, but the case was pretty full! So many options to choose from including cupcakes, cheesecakes, rice krispies, cookies, etc. I was in the mood for chocolate so I got the Cookies N Creme cupcake, and my boyfriend also wanted a chocolate covered Oreo. We sat at one of the bar tables and scarfed down the treats. The cupcakes still remain my favorite - with a delicious Oreo filling, chocolate cupcake, and rich buttercream. The chocolate covered Oreo was nothing special, but a fun little treat. read more

I had my first Molly's Cupcake when I was a sophomore in high school, roughly 6 years ago -- my teacher at the time raved about it and treated us. It's my first time at this location, we came on Sunday, and it was nice to have a mini cupcake in addition to what I purchased because I checked in on Yelp. Their red velvet cupcakes are literally perfect, and it's definitely one of the best cupcakes I've had in Chicago. I highly recommend Molly's to anyone in the Chicagoland area that has a sweet tooth and looking for a delicious cupcake. read more

I wanted a dessert with our dinner & this was close to our Airbnb, I didn't even realize this bakery was a Cupcake Wars winner until after we bought our cupcakes. We stopped by around 5pm. The interior design was so cute! They still had quite a few options to choose from. Visually they all looked good. We had chosen the tiramisu, white chocolate raspberry, and peach cobbler cupcakes. They tasted good and they were moist. The downside was their filling goes through the middle & it makes the bottom soggy. The cupcake integrity was also very crumbly. Favorite dessert in Chicago. I go for the peanut butter filled "Ron Bennington" time after time and it never disappoints. Other filled cupcakes are great too. Second favorite is probably a tie between the Samoa which is Girl Scout cookie inspired with a caramel coconut center and the Cookie Monster with vanilla cake and chocolate chips with a cookie dough center. read more

Delicious cupcakes everytime I visit any location! The flavors are all so sweet and yummy in every bite and the cupcake itself is so moist and soft! We ordered the raspberry n cream cupcake and peach cobbler. It was about $10 and so worth it! read more
Honestly one of the most delicious cupcakes I've had. My friends and I were at Federales across the street and on our walk back we just had to stop by here because it was way too enticing. I would personally recommend the Salted Caramel Butterscotch. Bought one, wish I had gotten more! read more

Amazing selection of yummy cupcakes! Spacious interior and no indoor seating, so it's ideal for social distancing. Staff were friendly and patient so the customers could ponder on the varieties and making the purchase. Great presentation. If you order 4 or more cupcakes, they'll put it in a plastic container. If you purchase two or less, they place it Ina mini box. Perfect if you're buying the cupcakes as a treat for friends or family! Metered street parking. Worth the trip because there's so many other restaurants and businesses in the area. read more

Stoked there's one closer to me! They're pricey but it's a nice pick-me-up every once in a while! They have their well-known swing chairs for you to enjoy and great windows so you're getting more natural light. The employees here are nice and welcoming - not rushing you, which I've felt at other locations. Walking in, I wanted to look at which flavors were available and the girl behind the counter kindly said "just let me know when you're ready." She told this to all the following customers too. Their cupcakes are moist and the flavors are exciting. See you soon and often, Molly's! read more
Before leaving Chicago I wanted to get my coworkers something sweet as a thank you for being so nice to me during my training period. I came across Molly's and was thinking, these are some pricey cupcakes, they better be worth it. After asking the girl behind the counter like 500 questions, I ended up ordering one dozen, 4 peach, 4 cremates brûlée and 4 cookies and cream. I got a peach one for myself. OMG, these cupcakes were sooooooooooooooo moist and yummy. I regret not getting a dozen to bring back to California with me. So if you were like me and is skeptical about spending that much on cupcakes, trust me, these babies are worth it! read more

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Sad that I couldn't sit where the swings were because of covid but still very aesthetically pleasing. My favorite was the raspberry and cream. Not too sweet but very delish. ALL cupcakes were delicious. The blueberry cheesecake is a cold cupcake, therefore has to be eaten within the hour (which was not a problem) read more

Hands down, and I have actually considered this for a solid 5 minutes-- this is the best cupcake I have ever had. This review goes specifically for their award-winning peach cobbler cupcake!! Tastes like you would imagine a peach cobbler cupcake to taste, but not heavy at all. The lightness is further reinforced with the fluffy, refreshing heavy whipped cream that replaces traditional frosting. It's the perfect addition, and when you eat it fresh, has a nice cooling effect to it. Almost tastes like ice cream, but fluffier! I love this cupcake because it is moist, sweet, unique, and not heavy to the point you feel like you need to cut sugar out of your life after. Molly's Cupcakes needs to be available everywhere! read more

If we're being honest Molly's is overrated in my opinion. The cupcakes are just ok. Considering the rave reviews and how many people recommended me to indulge I decided to give it a try. The cupcakes I can say are moist but not all the way through. I've had tastier store brought cupcakes and considering the high price point for a single cupcake in my opinion it wasn't worth it nor something I would necessarily purchase again. read more
