We just lost our pup of 17 years last month, so this place adds to my love and appreciation of animals, especially dogs. We went through drive thru. About 10 cars ahead of us. About 10 min of waiting. The lines moves very quick! For as busy as this place gets, the staff are quick and efficient, but they are still VERY friendly. I got an iced Americano. Always great quality. Love the little biscuits they throw in as a bonus. They have shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. Stopped by on my way to see a patient. Since it was a cooler morning o decided to go with a hot coffee. Knowing it would be cold by the time I finished my appointment. It is not located in the most convenient place. Hard to get in and out of and when they are busy, the traffic can get backed up on the road way. I ordered Sinner's latte. My first swig of it was straight espresso. I tried stirring it. Took another drink and same thing, very little flavor. I always drink my coffee even if I don't like it because I can't see waisting all that money. But even after it cooled down and I was able to stir it better it still was straight espresso. I had to throw it out. If I am on that side of town again I might give it another try with extra flavor or a different drink. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Bjorn's Brew since moving to Utah in 2014. I lived next door at Foothill Place Apartments near Bjorn's original location, and even after moving farther north, I've continued to make the effort to come back--often planning hikes in Millcreek so my dogs and I can stop at Bjorn's Brew. My dogs get so excited they literally hang out the car window because they know they're getting a treat. Unfortunately, the customer experience at the State Street location has been a consistent letdown and does not reflect what Bjorn's Brew claims to stand for. We've encountered the same guy working the drive-through window several times, and every single interaction has been unpleasant. At first, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed a bad day--but after multiple visits, it's clearly a pattern. He was working the window on Saturday, December 21st, and I regret not catching his name. He has a bad attitude, and it comes across as though dogs are an annoyance to him rather than the very reason many customers choose Bjorn's Brew. For a business built around being dog-friendly and supporting local pet charities, that disconnect is hard to ignore. I can get coffee anywhere--people come to Bjorn's Brew because it's dog-friendly. To make matters worse, I ordered my usual drink along with two peanut butter power balls, and what I was served was unacceptable. These power balls were clearly old--at least a week. I've accidentally left Bjorn's power balls in my car before and know exactly what they look and taste like when they've sat too long: darker caramel color, softened oats, a slightly sour smell, and a grainy texture. That is exactly what I was served. These are perishable items, which is why they're typically refrigerated or frozen, and I'm honestly shocked they were served at all. This is not what they look like when they're even 2-3 days old. If you're looking for the warm, dog-friendly customer experience Bjorn's Brew is known for, the Foothill location delivers. The State Street location is the polar opposite and was extremely disappointing--we will not be going back. read more

Bjorn's Brew is awesome for a number of reasons. First, the service is always friendly. Nothing beats a friendly greeting when you're up early and before you've had your first cup of coffee. Now, the coffee itself is great. A solid cup that isn't too acidic but keeps the boldness of a quality bean. The chai tea lattes run a bit sweet, though they offer two versions: Oregon & Vanilla. As you can imagine the vanilla is sweeter and the Oregon is a bit more traditional, I.e., less sweet. The burrito is surprising awesome. Great texture, perfectly cooked and a good sauce on the side. A serious burrito that will hit the spot. Every drink comes with a free sugar cookie, which is a nice touch. If you bring your dog they ask if you'd like a treat for your dog, also complimentary! Great service, good coffee, good food, complimentary treats for pups and people alike. What more can you ask for? Well, if you want to donate to dog charities you can too! Today (3/6) I came through the drive thru around 10:30-10:40 and had the worst experience Ive ever had at any drive thru. The lady who took my order was so rude. I asked "and maybe some cold foam too" and she replied "do you want it or not." In an incredibly rude and unsavory tone. We also wanted to get food but was cut short with an annoyed "okay we'll see you at the window" while I still had more to order. I pray that no one else has to interact with this barista. I understand people have hard days but never in my life would I treat a customer with such disrespect. I advise this barista finds a job outside of food service. read more

I am so sad I am just now finding out about this place because it is SO GOOD. I have been twice now and have loved it. The employees are so kind. The drinks are great. I would go there every day if I was fiscally capable. I've had great conversations with a couple of their baristas that show this is a locals spot. On the weekends I like to go in and read or do homework. If you need a quality coffee, I highly recommend Bjorn's Brew. PS. My only critique is that on several occasions the lids have leaked. Before you roll your eyes, understand that I am not an anti-plastic zealot. BUT black plastic is made from recycled electronics which are sprayed with flame retardant. I love the Sinner's Latte (that's my regular drink), but I also enjoy the occasional "drinks of the month" and that Bjorn's gives back to help animals in need. I went the other day, and they were having a Bingo Nite Fundraiser. I also tried their Candied Nut Latte, which was warm and grounding and perfect for a cold, snowy day. I all of their eats too (omg the Stuffed Croissants, Poppyseed Muffins, Protein Power Balls, and GF options are so good!). I recently moved to SLC and have already been here twice. Honestly I was drawn in by the dog theme, donations, and Pet of the Week, but I'm definitely staying for the food and drinks. Currently, only the drive thru is open, and everyone is masked. The first time we went I got a lavender breeze (green tea with lavender and blueberry syrup) and my husband got a mocha.
