We were in a pickle, in fact, whole Jat of pickles. My husband's beloved 2016 Eco Diesel truck's engine seized on the 101 Freeway at Exit40. We were advised by tow truck company that an auto shop in Simi Valley specialized in such trucks. It was diagnosed with engine failure and to replace would be upwards $20,000 if you could find one. Faced with this information we had decisions to make and quickly. JBS kindly let us store truck on their premises for several days until they went online and found a service (Peddle) to pick up truck and give us a check for parts etc on the vehicle. Just had one of a nightmare experience with them. Found out they are almost 30% more expansive than Pep Boys...only for oil change they charged me 150 vs 100 pep boys.. only for cabin filter they charged 80 usd. Guy himself said we cant compete with pep boys..my fault it was..shouldnt trust blindly on prices. read more

We got an outrageous estimate for work from our previous mechanic, wanted a second opinion, and were referred to JBS by my brother-in-law. It's one of the best recommendations we've EVER gotten & we're beyond grateful to be "part of the family". Turns out the expensive issue the previous mechanic wanted to "fix" didn't even exist! JBS saved us $1800+ Travis & Chris made us feel like family from the very beginning. With some people, you KNOW they genuinely care about your safety, well-being, AND pocketbook, and these guys are said people! They've always been upfront, informative, communicative, fair, honest, and every service has been IMPECCABLE. I even had my passenger side window mechanism fail, causing the window to shatter during a rainstorm (go figure). Called up Chris & he had me take it in right then & there. I have a 2002 F350 diesel. I have had a slow oil leak in it for almost 5 years. I took it to my local Diesel mechanic several times, and thousands of dollars later but still, no solving the mysterious leak. Also, my AC was another ongoing problem for about five years. Finally, frustrated and about to sell the truck, I took it to Travis at at JBS. I am so glad that I did. He fixed the oil leak and my AC is working like brand new. The team at JBS were awesome!!! (Chris and Travis were the only names that I got ). I have a 1997 Honda Civic that I LOVE! I'm under no circumstance knowledgeable about cars so like most people I had to TRUST what the mechanic says. In the past I have been a sitting duck for some auto shops and really regretted giving my little car over. 1. I had NO appointment and it was before the weekend. Chris said sure we'll take it just drop it off. They set real expectations about time frames and I got a call way sooner than anticipated. Within a day! 2. I had no clue what was wrong with it. I said about 5 words and they had already expressed personal experience with working on this make and model and had no concern with finding a solution. So I felt comfortable. 3. Of course I don't want to spend a fortune on a 1997 car with 140k miles but as I said I LOVE my little car. By the time Chris called he gave me lots of options. What he thought was important and I felt good about the plan that he established for additional care in the future. His pricing was great and what do you know... it was done super quick!!! This morning I got a text from Travis at JBS double checking if my "grocery getter" car was working well. Totally unexpected and really appreciated considering how crazy busy they were. I'm sure what I was spending with them may have been inconsequential compared to some of the work they were doing. (Classic cars, truck, etc..) I didn't feel for a minute I was inconveniencing them or my car was not a priority (appointment or not). If you need some help this is your team. ( that a local dealer couldn't help me with for 2 weeks) I was able to discuss it with Travis and drop it off a few hours later. I was referred to Travis at JBS by a friend who had his starter replaced on his Tundra. I took my Sequoia in for an oil change to a shop in Thousand Oaks. Since my vehicle has over 200K miles I asked them to check for any leaks. They informed me that my main seal and intake manifold were leaking. I hadn't noticed any significant leaks on the ground so I found this interesting. The repairs were going to cost close to $1000. I decided it wasn't an emergency and to get another opinion. Before taking my car to Travis I steam cleaned the engine and drove the vehicle for a couple weeks so he would be able to see more easily if there was leak. Come to find out Travis did not find any significant leaks considering the mileage on the car. There is some seepage, but no leaks. This was great news as I was heading up north to Big Sur. He checked my brakes as well which were good too. Needless to say I will be bringing my cars as well as friends and family to Travis from now on. By the way, when I rented a car from Hertz I got the shop rate and the lady at the counter said JBS...oh yeah everyone in Simi knows them. They are the place to go to get your car repaired honestly! DODGE VIPER. Trying to do Viper on a budget is almost impossible! If you go to Dodge, you have to go where a "Viper qualified" mechanic is and not all dealerships have one. Went to JBS and asked if they would like to have a go at it. Travis said he'd never worked on one before, but it's just nuts and bolts like any other car. Needed plug wires and coils changed. Unfortunately the intake has to come off as the coils are under it. Travis had a little trouble waiting on parts, but got it bangin' on all 10 again. Price??? I know it's at least half of what Dodge would have charged after they apply the "Viper Tax". Only problem at JBS is they are super busy and I can see why. Thanks-Travis!! read more

When my headlight went out a few weeks back, and I took it to Jiffy Lube, thinking it would be a quick bulb replacement. The guy there gave me a whole song and dance about how it was an electrical problem and I'd need to buy replacement parts and get my wiring looked at...I was completely taken by surprise. So I took it to JBS, hoping they could fix it, whatever this problem was, but after I brought it in, Travis told me the other place had made a mistake, and there was no problem at all! He tested it out, cleaned it up, and had my car back to me within an hour. I could have invested hundreds in labor investigating an imaginary issue, but Travis changed my bulb out for free, didn't charge me a dime for the whole process. My husband has been taking our cars to JBS for 5+years. Recently we lent one of our cars to our daughter and her family who live in Las Vegas. They took the car to a mechanic for a routine oil change (they have been to that shop prior to this). They were given an estimate for approximately $1500 for "urgent repairs" and even went so far as to tell our daughter that she shouldn't drive my grand daughter around until the repairs are done. My husband was skeptical of the quote due to Jerry having recently done some repair on the same car. His confidence in Jerry led us to making a trip to Vegas to pick up the car and bring it down to Jerry to check out. As predicted.
