But when it became apparent I had some kind of "debris particle" stuck in my cornea and no amount of eyewash would rinse it out, Patient First referred me to Dr. Snyder. I was in a lot of pain at the time and Dr. Snyder was able to see me within a couple hours of calling for an appointment. He had to scrape my cornea to clear the debris. It wasn't scary at all because he was totally cool and told me exactly what I could expect. He was really great at taking the time to explain how it would feel and what I could do to get through it. More than the eye poking, I was afraid of the bill because my health insurance doesn't cover any out of pocket medical costs. Dr. Snyder went with me to make sure I paid a reduced rate when I checked out at the front desk. My bill was only $80. What a relief! He also told me he normally would have people come back in for a recheck, but to avoid cost, I only had to return if I was having a problem. I'm not gonna lie, the short recovery time was painful. But I was better after a day and my eyes are happy and healthy again. Dr. Snyder was great. I would definitely go to him again if I have any eye problems.

I strongly advise against coming here, especially if you're particular about your glasses and…read moreprescription. I got my glasses back in January and ended up returning them. They didn't check if the frames were a good fit for my face shape, and they tried to charge me without explaining any of the fees upfront. The staff seemed inexperienced and more focused on pushing their own program on making a sale than actually helping me. I like my glasses to sit a certain way on my face, and when I asked the associate to adjust them to fit my ear, she got visibly irritated. During the adjustment, she scratched the lens and while she clearly knew it happened, she didn't even acknowledge it until I pointed it out. I asked for a replacement lens, which she agreed to, but I still haven't received a proper resolution. It's now May, and I have yet to receive a refund or my benefits back. I've been dealing with Wendy Stainback, who stopped responding to me entirely. As someone who works in customer service, I'm shocked by the lack of accountability and follow-through. Every time I call corporate, I'm told something different, "this wasn't done," "that person didn't follow through," etc. It's like no one knows what they're doing or how to follow protocol. The customer service here is unacceptable. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to stay away. I would put 0 stars if I could.

What a scam that is!! When I picked up my glasses, they were dirty, finger smudges all over them. Stay away from Stanton Optical, unless you just want a junk pair of glasses.

Maybe I should just be editor of all these businesses! Who keeps entering all these names…read moreincorrectly?? Anyways, this should be correctly named Virginia Beach Eye Center. Although they do do surgeries, they do more than that. There are 2 doctors here both very well known in the area and in the field of ophthalmology. I've had a great experience with them individually, but the biggest negative thing about their practice is the wait. Be prepared to be here for at least an hour and 15 min. They have so many patients packed in that they inevitably fall behind. However, they do spend the time talking to you once it's your turn. Also in the same building is their affiliated optometry center. Instead of an ophthalmologist you can opt to see an optometrist. Then just walk right over to the other counter and get your glasses prescription filled! I often like to come in to get a few candies which they have a big bowl of by the counter. shhhhh

When he was seen by Dr Gross, he advised against the surgery and we RESPECT that because of his knowledge as a doctor. However, Dr. Gross' condescending remarks were unacceptable! Verbatim, he said, "Your glasses are so dirty, maybe that is the reason for your declined vision" My mother proceeded and asked, "if he doesn't need cataracts then why is his vision declining?" I kid you not, Dr Gross said, "well, just have him remove his dirty glasses so he can see" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! THIS IS NOT OKAY! My parents are asian, and there is a language barrier - but to be treated as such is against the medical oath that this Dr took. His moral compass is off! Nowhere is this lifetime did my father receive such an awful encounter from a doctor! His bedside manner is terrible! This negative experience of Dr Gross' behavior deterred us from ever coming back. THIS DOCTOR HAS NO COMPASSION, POWER TRIPS AND VERY CONDESCENDING! And his scribe, she is very rude as well. Patients do not lie, the reviews of this place speaks volumes.
