Pit Stop Bar & Grill GOOD: The atmosphere is truly original. It's new barn-style with 20 feet high ceilings filled with plaques, flags, planes and more. The prices were reasonable and the portions very solid (even for a big eater). The service was also pleasent and excellent. BAD: Not much at all, the chicken on the pizza was a little over cooked and dry. More cheese could help balance, but the bbq sauce was great so it really didnt take the pizza down. Overall, I enjoyed it. If you're in Bird n Hand/Intercourse, definitely worth a go.

Service was acceptable. Plenty of tables and a bar that fits about 20-25 ppl. Clean. Sandwich was odd but good. Conveniently located.

Very cool concept of a restaurant being in a bar. Lots of cool signs all over the walls. Waitress was nice but service took a very long time. Food took at least 30 minutes to come, apparently kitchen was backed up but it didn't seem like there were that many people there. The table behind us sent their food back, unsure what happened there but that's why the kitchen was backed up. Potato skins came out first. They were kinda small, tasted alright. The cheesesteak was really good, it was steak strips, I added onions to it as well, came with a bag of chips. If you get cold easily dress warm, it is a little colder especially if sitting by the window.

Great variety and great flavors on a bar food menu. The place is amazing. Hoping more people come on different days not just on weekends. This place is perfect to have next to new hotel in intercourse. Our food was great and service was flawless. Great value easy off street free parking. Great ambiance.

Mostly it's where we stayed (shoutout to Airbnb), but also it was the fun and different experiences/places we visited around the Intercourse/Lancaster area like Stoltzfus Meats. This store doubles as a place to eat at as well as a spot to get plenty of (I bet you can guess) meats to cook up in the privacy of your own home. Normally, a place like Stoltzfus might have been somewhere we may not have even ventured into, but wanting to spend as much time in that aforementioned Airbnb, we saw the great Yelp score of this spot and what it offered in the way of food to cook, and so Stoltzfus was visited with a meaty mission in hand. What does Stoltzfus offer (beyond just saying meat)? Well they really do have a massive selection of different types of steak, pork, chicken, and even some non-meat meals (pizzas, mac and cheese, etc.). Some items come frozen which would have worked well for us had we been staying longer than a couple of days, but we decided to hit up the counter and get some fresh uncooked items that we could make for dinner (and breakfast). Once being helped (which was quick as there were many people working) the staff member was friendly (albeit we had a little confusion about the amount of sausage types we could buy) and we were able to purchase a few different flavored-sausages, some macaroni salad, and some breakfast sausages to make the next morning. After grabbing these we looked at some of the prepackaged meats and found some marinated chicken strips to get as well. Once back at the Airbnb, we cooked everything up and the meats definitely were tender and flavorful. The macaroni salad was also pretty solid. Though nothing blew me away, the meal we made was great for the price we spent. Best item was probably the breakfast sausages we had the next morning. They were a maple apple flavor and dang were they delicious. Overall, Stoltzfus Meats did the trick for our little Airbnb getaway. Perhaps not a place we would have ventured to if not staying in a location that warranted some potential cooking, I am still glad we got to experience Stoltzfus and would definitely return if we did end up back in that part of the Pennsylvania state with the need to make a meal. Even if I physically don't come back, I know my mind will at least continue to return here!

They offer daily specials too including weekday breakfast & lunch specials I stopped by Ark House on a rainy afternoon. I arrived here and the place wasn't too busy after the lunch rush. I was seated in a booth and given a menu to look at. I requested an ice water and ordered the Shrimp Parm with Spaghetti ($14.99 plus tax) with choice of one side (chose mac & cheese) and garlic toast. The food came out in 12 minutes after I ordered. The portion of food was good which was comprised of 8 breaded jumbo shrimp topped with red sauce & melted cheese with a side of soft cooked spaghetti with a sweet meat sauce. The mac & cheese (orange) was very dense and rich. The thick slices of garlic toast were soft and buttery. After I was done, the check was brought over which was $15.89 with tax and before tip. I paid at the front register. Overall, the food I had was fantastic and I was a bit torn whether to choose a pasta dish or a traditional country homestyle meal. The shrimp parm was very tasty and hot as was the mac & cheese. The service was friendly and adequate. I was glad I stopped here instead of going to a smorgasbord restaurant, which was very packed and pricey. The meal I had at Ark House Diner was pretty reasonable.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

The peel and eat shrimp was good and the fried chicken was good, but not warm and very limited on selection of the pieces. The sides were OK maybe they just weren't my thing. We had ridden the Strasburg Railroad earlier…read morein the day and were looking for a place to eat when I fired up Yelp and found the Tavern by Spring House Brewing. It is located on East Main Street in downtown Strasburg. The inside consists of a large main room with an L shaped bar, a number of TVs, and then a second dining room off to the side. Since no one was seated in the second room and we had twin four year olds with us, we chose that space. Unfortunately the TV in that room was broken, so we were not able to watch the Steelers game that was on. Aside from that, the room itself had a cozy and slightly eclectic feel. There was a decorated Christmas tree lit up in the corner near the staircase which gave the space a warm seasonal vibe. The walls were decorated with brewery signs and beer themed banners, and a bright yellow decorative mantel stood out against the darker wall colors. Overall it felt casual and welcoming and worked well for a family dinner. For dinner on this evening I went with the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak while my wife chose the K Town Mac Bowl. The menu described my wife's dish as three cheese cavatappi pasta with smoked pork slaw, Korean BBQ drizzle, sesame seeds, and scallions. My sandwich was described as smoked chicken, American cheese, buffalo sauce, gorgonzola, onion frizzles, ranch drizzle, and a hoagie roll. I thought my sandwich ended up being good, especially since it was chock full of chicken. The hoagie roll was toasted and buttered nicely and added a good crunch, which the onion frizzles helped reinforce. The gorgonzola added a nice pungent pop of flavor. While I did get some buffalo flavor, I definitely could have used more. Because of that, the sandwich was a little on the drier side despite having cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch drizzle. My fries were seasoned and had a nice texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Spring House Brewing, a flight consists of four beers and I chose the Cucumber Salamander, Backroads Shadows, Daily Planet, and Love and Rockets. The Love and Rockets ended up getting mixed up and I was instead served Grease the Poles. I started with the Cucumber Salamander, which is a sour. It was a bit tart right from the start and that carried through to the finish, with a little extra pucker at the end. Up next was Backroads Shadows, a lager with a crisp, clean start before the malts came through on the finish. This felt like a really good easy drinking beer. Third was Daily Planet, an IPA that had citrus up front followed by a solid hop presence that carried through the finish. Last was Grease the Poles, a pale lager that started off very clean before finishing with some lighter hop notes. Out of the bunch, the Cucumber Salamander was definitely my favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Our food and drinks were good, and I would be interested in trying more of their beers.
