They offer daily specials too including weekday breakfast & lunch specials I stopped by Ark House on a rainy afternoon. I arrived here and the place wasn't too busy after the lunch rush. I was seated in a booth and given a menu to look at. I requested an ice water and ordered the Shrimp Parm with Spaghetti ($14.99 plus tax) with choice of one side (chose mac & cheese) and garlic toast. The food came out in 12 minutes after I ordered. The portion of food was good which was comprised of 8 breaded jumbo shrimp topped with red sauce & melted cheese with a side of soft cooked spaghetti with a sweet meat sauce. The mac & cheese (orange) was very dense and rich. The thick slices of garlic toast were soft and buttery. After I was done, the check was brought over which was $15.89 with tax and before tip. I paid at the front register. Overall, the food I had was fantastic and I was a bit torn whether to choose a pasta dish or a traditional country homestyle meal. The shrimp parm was very tasty and hot as was the mac & cheese. The service was friendly and adequate. I was glad I stopped here instead of going to a smorgasbord restaurant, which was very packed and pricey. The meal I had at Ark House Diner was pretty reasonable.

All the pies we tried were delicious. The stand out: Best Lemon Meringue pie I have EVER had, and I LOVE lemon meringue pie. I made my husband go almost an hour each way (so 2 hours) so I could have this pie as my Easter dessert. He didn't mind, we ate breakfast while we were there, lol. Note: breakfast doesn't include pies, but for less than $5 you get a slice of pie to go that is really 2 slices worth. In a recent visit to Lancaster I did some searching online for places to eat and followed the recommendations to the Horse Inn. Sooo happy we did!! The food was amazing. My husband says it was the best shrimp and grits he's ever had! My steak tips were equally as yummy. The sauce was out of this world good!! The fries!! Jesus what was that sorcery ?? YUMMMM. Hats off to the owners and chefs! Only bad thing is we don't live close by and we can't go back soon. But we will be back!! BOTTOM LINE: The old Plain & Fancy communal eating place disappeared after 2017. A faux Plain & Fancy section replaced it. Whole area, including town of Intercourse, Pennsylvania is a big tourist trap. Amish are gone, Mennonites remain. What you'll also find is a nice line up of drinks including wine, beer and cocktails. You won't find that at many of the Lancaster Amish buffet lines! The offers aren't as extensive as some of the other buffets. But it feels a little higher end. It's also pricier. But our family really enjoyed the experience. The spread here was overall very nice. Not a massive spread but still worth it to check out with some gorgeous country views out the window.
