Four gal pals and I recently visited the Uptown location. This was my first visit. Initial impression was about the lack of close-in parking. I have never seen such a tiny parking lot for a large restaurant. Next, inside - wow what a lovely building. We came for happy hour mostly. Learned that you have to sit in the bar area to enjoy happy hour prices. There were only tall 4-top tables available, which I am not a fan of - but because the chairs had backs it was pretty comfortable. Plus the chair height was not too too high which is sometimes an issue since I'm only barely 5 feet tall. Ok - we lucked out and got Enrique as our server. He is truly a master at his craft. Patient, attentive, knowledgable, accommodating - and with an overall wonderful demeanor. Had to give him recognition! I especially love the appetizer menu. I got the ahi poki tuna and appreciated its freshness. Delish! I do love the menu and the prices and the service. We were treated very well and we loved our time there. What more can I say, except that we are now fans and we will surely return. read more

Walked in and it was absolutely packed! Nonetheless, we found a table to watch the Lobo game and had a great time! Our waiter wasn't bad but wasn't great. Luckily we knew the bartender behind the bar and we got our drinks.. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. We only had appetizers, but they were all very good! Just to be clear, it would be 5 stars for the bar and bartender, Jerred. But the kitchen has fallen off pretty bad. The ambiance is the same and great as always. I feel like I'm at a local pub in nice city, not ABQ. But the food has fallen off hard. The portions are small. The quality is bad. Today I got a third of the normal portion of chicken and it was fried like a a charred mutton. It was not good. I understand the economy is in the tank and food is pricy. But it's the management who's trying to cut corners. The food was pronouncedly smaller. I appreciate that they are trying. We will keep coming back but it's a difficult time. Our server Aileen N was excellent and our appetizer was delivered shortly after ordering. However, the time to receive our entrees was a long wait and when our food arrived, half of our entrees were cold. Not warm, but cold. I sent mine back to be warmed, but our son ate his cold burger and fries as he needed to leave town and the wait for our food was already too long. My husband ordered the fish and chips, which was barely warm and it was served with tartar sauce and what he thought was cocktail sauce, only to find out that it was marinara sauce. While friendly and competent wait staff is important, hot food needs to be hot and delivered to the table in a timely manner. The kitchen staff and food service flow clearly needs improvement. If the food is poor, customers will not return no matter how good the server staff are. We will not return. read more

Horrible, staff seemed disjointed and waiter seemed to be going through a personal crisis. We had to ask for menus and when we did the young lady stated they were looking for our waiter. Well if you know someone has been waiting at least send someone else to take the drink order. Son and wife ordered a second beer it sat on the bar until we left. We would have asked our waiter but guess what he was no where to be found. When he remembered the beers my son said they no longer wanted them. I'll say this, the waiter was lucky because my son paid and left him somewhat of a tip. If I was paying I would not have left one... other than to tell him to try another occupation because you are not very good at this one. Can't say much about the food. Tastes the same as any other BJ's, but I guess that's the point. Strawberry salad and chicken club were good. We arrived at 8pm on a Wednesday, had to wait 5 min for a table. Our waitress was too chatty and shared way too much personal info. A good 20 min wait for our meal and then another 7 min to get a fork even though we told our table runner was on his way, fries were lukewarm. Let me tell you, today was rough, our server did not care about us in the slightest, one of our companions got a steak but didn't know what was on it so when he asked if it could be removed our server told him that is was too late and we had to order a whole other meal and still paid for the steak, our steaks ALL OF OUR STEAKS were all overcooked, also we had to wait 30 minutes to just get refills and sauces, we had to get up and ask another server for the sauces we were missing, unfortunately we had to talk to the manager, and when the server came back he was unapologetic and rude when speaking to us about the overcooked steaks and missing stuff. But in the end we got a discount on our bill for the hard time. read more

Every person I met was extremely helpful and attentive. I don't understand why there is one bartender at 2 pm with 14 people sitting at the bar. She also serves drinks to the waiters to deliver to dining room. Honestly ! During rush hour, you need another hand here. I'll add , this bartender is fantastic . She's picking up food from the kitchen, serving drinks, smiling, attentive to everyone but I've been here for thirty minutes waiting for Mahi M tacos . The salads ordered by neighbors looks great. Lots of chicken breast with well seasoned chop. The problem here and the overall complain is delay in getting served. I'm here on a work lunch break and I don't want to sit here waiting for my food. Ask for sugar for my tea and they said they ran out of sugar. WHO RUNS OUT OF SUGAR! Order hamburger well done, came out raw in the middle, not pink RAW. After requesting for it to be cooked more I waiting 30 min still no hamburger. Just asked for them to take it off so I could leave. I had my first visit to BJ's this afternoon, January 26, 2025. I went specifically to have lunch while watching playoff football. There is example parking. The decor is nice, and overall it has a clean feeling. My server was named Chris, and he did a superb job. He was aware that I wanted to watch the football, so he took orders, brought the food out, and then did not hurry me along. I had the chopped Asian salad and my dining companion had chicken Parmesan. I had a taste of the chicken Parmesan and found it to be tender, and with a very well balanced tomato sauce. The chopped Asian salad had a nice variety, a nice dressing, and good pieces of well cooked chicken. For dinner, we split a dish that I have never heard of. Pizookie which is a combination of ice cream served over a brownie. It was delicious. I'm going to deem this my new favorite sports bar, enlarge part due to the extensive menu and delightful food. read more

I initially came here and didn't think I'd give a review, and as such, there are limited pictures to accompany this review, however, I had such amazing service, I had to. I visited here to take advantage of their specials, both happy hour and the pizookie deals. I ordered a chicken alfredo mini pan pizza from the happy hour - all the flavor options for the originals are available. It was weird because the crust was really soft but the chicken was overcooked and in fact slightly burned -since I was using it as an app, I didn't finish it. I ordered the southern chicken pizookie meal and later realized I forgot to ask if I could pay an upcharge to change out the corn succotash because I'm not really supposed to eat corn nor red peppers. I didn't want to cause a fuss but shared if anything was an issue and said I could pull the peppers out if i need to. My server, Isaiah, said he would see what he could do and I actually forgot about it until I got my plate and as I was eating I noticed there were no red peppers in the corn. When I asked him on one of his many follow-ups to the table, he said he forgot to tell me he'd asked the kitchen to avoid putting red peppers in there. I thanked him and was grateful he took the time to actually follow up given that he was working at least 3 other tables simultaneously and being as courteous to all of them. I should also state I ordered the Boba drink which was good and held up despite the ice until I received my entree. If you want great service, sit in the bar area and look for Isaiah. read more

First time here. Suggestion from a friend. She likes their daily specials. Monday's Specials are pizza. We were there on Monday. I got a personal pizza and a house salad. "Pizookie" for dessert. Way too much food . . . but it all was super good. Leftovers. I love leftovers. Oh, and the pizookie was all eaten right then and there. Sugar cookie, vanilla ice cream and strawberries. Kind of a strawberry shortcake . . . Lovely lunch was only $13. Can't go wrong. Service was exceptionally good. Professional. The restaurant is large, but has been decorated in a way that makes it feel cozy. Pleasant atmosphere. Although it's a "brewhouse" also, I didn't try any of the beer. Next time. It was a nice lunch with a good friend. I will go back. Only complaint was that the background music was a little too loud. Made it difficult to talk with the person right beside me. read more

The good: quite a variety on the menu and a welcoming atmosphere. Mikael K may have been the most on-it, gracious and personable server we've had this year, and we've had _many_ good folks taking care of us, so that's saying a lot. My party had a couple of celebrations and had some age-related difficulties, and Mikael couldn't have been nicer or more patient and caring about addressing everything perfectly. And we were left to jabber amongst ourselves for as long as we wanted. The other servers we encountered at BJ's today were really on the ball as well, but wow, they're lucky to have Mikael. The okay: I had a $12 quinoa/chicken bowl lunch special and a $7.25 BJ's Oktoberfest beer that were just fine. Neither was great, but they were just fine: lots of tasty and well prepared chicken, lots of veggies for interest. Price seemed a little warm, but when's that not the case these days? The sad: my wife's Asian Chopped Salad with chicken ($15.45) was borderline inedible: the chicken was one of those weird, chewy rubber chicken breasts we've all encountered. She wound up eating about half of it and offered it to me: I gobbled a couple pieces of chicken before - ick! - realizing what was going on. Ah well. Also, bathrooms were clean (if dark), but there was a (clean water) plumbing leak that was dripping pretty solid on the floor in the gents' room. Upshot: BJ's was suggested by one of the couples in this monthly lunch group, and it was just fine. I'm not planning to hurry back on my own, but I would certainly give it another try. Despite the numerous service-related gripes I see here in Yelp reviews, our experience was that BJ's service was top-notch - probably the best thing about our visit. read more

Seated right quick and our server Andy introduced himself. He took our drinks order while we pondered the menu. I looked around and then peeked at my watch; we were pretty well past the typical workday lunch hour -- it was a bit after 1:30pm MTZ. Andy came back with our drinks and we told him our choices. My lunch partner ordered the aged roasted pork chops but was told those would not be ready until 4pm as they were being slowly roasted (sounds logical about the length of timing to slow roast ... just not that they were already roasted). He then chose a rib eye steak, salad and you guessed it ... the baked potato. I ordered the sashimi grade tuna soba noodle poke salad; no appetizers were needed. Bathroom break -- really clean bathroom. I really like the long shared sink with the slit down the bottom (the drain); it helps keep the splashing down to a minimum. Back and shortly thereafter Andy brought our meals. Food was excellent; Andy stopped by a couple times to inquire if we had need of drink refills or any other little something. Been here a few times and it's not what it used to be. Ordered the chip and dip trio appetizer, it was ok. I had the soup and salad combo. Salad was good, the cheddar broccoli soup tasted like nacho cheese with pieces of barely there broccoli. I was disappointed. My kiddos ordered burgers and parts of the meat were burnt. Another group of close friends who've decided they're going to keep me in the light, even when I've learned to find safety in the shade. It wasn't a big thing. It never has to be. Just a dinner. An excuse to wear something better than the soft armor of sweats and a hoodie. A reason to put on real pants, brush off the nice watch, and step into the world looking like someone ready to be seen, even if he isn't. We went to BJ's Brewhouse. Not my spot--but close enough. A place I've been to before, one of the few I feel okay in. Large, yes. Public, yes. But somehow, it doesn't feel like a spotlight. It feels like a corner where you can sit, breathe, eat, and maybe even laugh a little. One of the things I've always noticed--and quietly appreciated--is how BJ's handles space. If I could rate this place a zero I would. I arrived on Thursday night at 8:10 and looked and said wow they're not busy let's go in for a dessert. We were immediately sat down. We waited at our table for 30 minutes until I finally seen a waiter and I asked who our server was because at this point I have not been greeted or asked if I even wanted a water. She said she would go look and she would be right back. At 8:45 I see the girl we asked talking to not one but THREE other servers at a screen not even a bit of concerned or apologetic for no one assisting us. I went for the first time, ordered a bacon cheeseburger then I realized it didn't have bacon on it. It took over 10 minutes to find the waitress, I tried to send it back but she said that she would just bring some bacon out. The bacon she brought out was cold and so was the burger, I took one bite told the waitress it was cold asked for the ticket paid and left. There was no apology or asking if they could make it right.
