My sister and our friend took me here to celebrate my Birthday. It's been a super rough year for me but I decided to get out and celebrate anyway. We drank, had a ton of appetizers and I followed it up with their Asian chicken salad. To top it off we had the white chocolate macadamia nut pizookie. Their Brussels are flipping ridiculous. Service was great. Our waitress was simply perfect keeping our drinks filled and offering me samples of their beers. Covid safe with plenty of precautions set up. I prefer to stop by here at BJ's Brea over the restaurants in the area. Food is much more enjoyable here! We stop by at least twice a week. We keep trying to explore the other spots in these shopping centers, but the food just taste better at BJs. We regret not just going to BJ's instead. I would like to mention "Emery" We were there on busy graduation weekend! He was attentive as always. My friend Ash and I went here for dinner on Tuesday July 8 and we sat in Daniel's section. He was absolutely WONDERFUL; so attentive, always on top of drink refills, checking in on us to make sure everything was okay, made modifications to dishes to make things work for us, the whole nine yards. I'm vegetarian, so I asked if i could do the deep dish ziti with no meat and he was able to make that happen and was so kind and patient about that accommodation. Amazing service 10/10 read more

We had an absolutely terrible experience at BJ's in Brea Mall. Our server, Audrey A., was by far the worst server we've ever had. She only came to our table three times: once to take our order, once to bring the food, and once to collect the check. Beyond that, we asked for basic things--ketchup, utensils, ranch--and we never received any of it. We also never got a check-in to see if we needed anything. After we paid, we still didn't get our change. We spoke to the manager, Casey, and let her know how awful the service was. We explained that we repeatedly asked for items and never got them, and that Audrey was inattentive from start to finish. Casey didn't even offer a real solution--just a weak excuse, and no apology. This was easily the worst service we've ever had anywhere--completely inattentive and indifferent. We will never return, and I strongly urge others to stay away. Also PSA I understand teens not tipping waiters is a thing for a lot of kids but not all people are the same but regardless of the fact I believe everyone should get the same treatment because you never know. I think our server saw us said oh great another table that's not going to tip. Which was not true at all we were all planning on leaving a tip, but her service didn't align with that. We hosted a buffet style lunch for my niece's first communion. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our early arrival. We had the patio out front partially to ourselves. Food was great, the servers hustled, management allowed us to decorate and the set up was comfortable for our party size. Ambiance is relaxed and family friendly. My suggestion as you plan your party or even at the point you confirm your party size - get an as accurate head count as possible from your guests, we had some last minute cancellations and I still had to pay most of the estimated head count. They even brought out all 36 desserts when there were clearly not 36 guests, sucks some of those were wasted. Communication with your servers is key. Always come here late at night with my friends and always love it!! the avocado for some reason in both my ahi poke and burger were a bit hard but other than that sooooo yummy !! the wait was pretty short, the waiter was very kind and often checked in on us, and just the overall vibe of the restaurant was pretty chill. Arrived right when they opened at 11am on Sat. 1/10/26. Seated about 11:15. We were seated on the little upper level in the back by the bar. Our server, although nice, was not very attentive. We saw that she was not only serving tables on the little upper area, but also the lower area AND customers at the bar. After our appetizer came out we ordered our meal. I specifically asked for my order (soup and salad) to arrive with my husband's meal so we can eat together. Nope, my meal came out shortly after we received our appetizer and wen I explained to the person who bought it to me what my request was, she rolled her eyes and stated "Ok, I'll take it back and bring it back later". All during our meal, we had to listen to the employees at the bar, in the kitchen and bus boys, yap loudly the who time about their personal business and it was extremely annoying and made our lunch unbearable. When my husband's food and mine arrived, I can tell mine has been sitting and soup was Luke warm. I did not send it back as the person already had an attitude. Ordered a $35 pizza here through Uber Eats for a pickup. I requested a window for pickup but it was ready 10 minutes before the time. I was ready luckily but when I got the pizza the box bottom was wet and cold...the pizza had been sitting around awhile. It was Dec 30 and too busy to have them remake it. I contacted separately UberEats and BJs. Neither replied. Tried again and still nothing. I doubt I return to BJ anytime soon. Two extremely bad experiences at this location. First was for my father's birthday. We were seated in the patio area and our drink orders food order was taken quickly. However, the drinks came out incorrect, then half the food was incorrect, cold and the steak was raw when ordered medium. We requested it to be fixed, the waiter seemed flustered, said he would have it fixed..... but never came back. 45 minutes later we found the manager and explained the situation. Apparently the waiter walked out on his shift. Happy birthday dad!! Today, my daughter graduated high school and we came here to celebrate. We sat down at 8:30pm, ordered appetizers and drinks (waited 20 minutes for them) and half of them were just carbonated water. Ordered new drinks which took another 20 minutes to receive. Finally received our appetizers with the 2nd round of soft drinks. Ordered our food and waited an hour to get that, still no sight of beverage refills. It's now nearly 3 hours later and we are just finishing up our meal. Likely, the last time I come here. Unfortunate really because BJs used to be much better. I haven't been here in a long while, but boy has the quality of the food here gone down the drain. We ordered the bbq chicken pizza, chicken fried dish and chicken parmigiana. The pizza was soggy and lukewarm; we waited a long time for the pizza too! And the pan it came in was cool to the touch. The fried chicken dish was served with barely warmed mashed potatoes and extremely old and chewy stick-to-your-teeth corn, but the chicken was actually hot and crispy. Husband chicken parm was like the theme of the day, lukewarm and old tasting. Overall, the food was not worth it. We waited a very long time for the food to have it served disappointedly. read more

Could not find a bartender or service staff for quite some time. It was at least 20 minutes for a waiter to finally acknowledge our presence. See like service staff was understaffed as those that were there were hustling to cover all the tables. So I give service 2 stars as we had to flag him down each time. Prices for Happy hour are really good and they were also running a $13 pookie special with an entree. Good value and good food. By the time we left this place was packed. I went in on Christmas Eve, very happy to celebrate with a pizookie. We came in around 8 pm, and waiting to be seated for 30 minutes. No one came to serve me and my group (a group of 5 including myself). The shop was basically almost empty. Then we had to ask one of the online order servers, which then we were instructed to go to the cocktail bar for further guidance. Then we just stood around because they told us to, but then a RUDE SERVER came up to us and told us with an AWFUL attitude: "What's going on. What are you guys doing." He told us to seat at the table in front of us, but it was a table for four people (we're a group of 5???) and there was nothing. No drinks, no napkins, no menus. We ordered a "large" pizookie, and he gave us the smallest pizookie for 5 adults. Are we joking? No server actually served us... everyone ignored us at the store. Couldn't even fix our order. Had dinner tonight at BJ's in Brea. I used their app to get onto the waiting list. When we arrived we were quoted that our wait would be 10 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes we went to check how much longer it would be and were greeted with a less than pleasant response. We were told that it should not be much longer, and that most people are having to wait 30 minutes. They did not notice that I put in a request for a booth. I had to let them know again. The restaurant was loud, as usual. It makes it hard to carry on a conversation, at times when the restaurant is full. The floors and tables were clean. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Our server Jackie greeted us with a big smile. She was friendly and very welcoming. Throughout my dining experience she checked on us several times. I really appreciated how attentive she was. The ribs I ordered were delicious. My pizookie was so good! It was a nice way to complete my meal. read more

Can't go wrong with their happy hour! No issues with this BJ's chain compared to its hundreds of others. Service was good. Food was good. Beer was good. The bar area is open seating and I love that they have a variety of beers that they brew themselves. They are always innovating new flavors and you can switch things up if you like. Terrible. Absolutely terrible management by Kasey. Had an entire hairball in my friends salad just for her to say " oh wow that's interesting , do u want a new one? ". Not a single apology , never came back to deliver the new salad , and did not take it off the bill. BUT did try to hide it !!! She then added an EXTRA salad on the bill and took that one off ???? Weird. We asked for an adjustment to the bill or even to speak with her and she was no where to be found. As we were leaving my mother slipped on the ramp hitting her knee, absolutely no one from the host stand tried to help mind you there was at least 5 of them there. Once I made sure my mom was in the car I went back in to talk to the manager and he was of no help either.
