I ordered online for pickup. They have a curbside option, but I feel like that's so lazy, so I just parked and went in. There was no one at the host stand. I went over to the bar and locked eyes with someone who had her jacket on, obviously a server clocking out. She greeted me and called another server to assist me. I didn't even have to give my name; the server brought out my food. She did not verify the contents, confirm my name, or identify any utensils that were inside (but which I was grateful for), but she was pleasant and engaging. I had purchased a $100 gift card during the holidays, and the $25 bonus card I received for doing so was valid through today, so I had to redeem it or lose it. I also had received a 20% reusable voucher when I purchased the $100 gift card, so I saved another $6 off my total. The server knew how to ring up the discount and enter the bonus card--you'd be surprised how often employees have no idea how to ring up coupons and gift cards, even where there are printed EMV and POS instructions. I left a 10% tip. What are you supposed to tip on takeout anyway? The checkout experience was fast and satisfactory. I'd order takeout from here again! The food was packaged well and neatly. All the exclusion requests I made were honored (no mushrooms and no onions). I received extra southwest sauce on the side, and the dressing was not poured over the salad, thankfully. The Peruvian chicken breast with quinoa was very, very good! The chicken was juicy, well cooked, and a generous hunk. The blanched spinach I wasn't feeling too eager about, and the chopped tomatoes were soggy so I flicked them away. I would order this dish again. BJ's Brewhouse often has coupons, including their uncreative but valuable $10 off $35, which you should wait for before going, or their free appetizer coupon. Check their website regularly under the Promotions section. Also, sign up for their rewards card and immediately earn a free dessert--which is really delicious, not too large so you don't feel gluttonous, and made fresh. read more

I still can't figure out why this restaurant was so busy on a Wednesday night. It has to be the service. The waiter was incredibly swamped but she checked in on our table often enough and kept a smile on her face the whole time which is how my review of BJ's has two stars instead of one. The food was bad. Ordered wings, sweet potato fries, the great white pizza (a white pizza with chicken and mushrooms), and the salmon dish. The wings and sweet potato fries were good. No issues with anything being under cooked. The pizza was very thick, oily, and utterly bland. My friend had two bites of her salmon and said I can't eat this even after squeezing the lemon all over it. The waitress wanted to know if we wanted to take the food to go since we barely touched it and we said no. She genuinely seemed disappointed and wanted to inform her manager. We declined because the terrible food had nothing to do with her. She got the manager anyway who comped the bill 50% and we gave her the balance of the original bill as a tip. I want to give more stars because the food isnt bad, but the service is sub par. I have ordered pizookies to go a couple of times and request no ice cream each time, and have been given ice cream each time. Then I dined in the other day in an almost empty restaurant and a meal that should've taken an hour and a half max took over three hours because the server kept disappearing. I had asked if the soba dishes were hot or cold because i didnt want a cold dish and was told they were hot. My friend ordered the chicken soba and I ordered tuna. After waiting way too long, she brought out the meals and as shes placing mine in front of me, said the dish is actually cold and asked if I wanted the chicken version. Since I dont eat meat, I asked for just the noodles. As we waited, my friend ate her meal slowly and I picked at mine since I was very hungry. Also, we had noticed a few gnats when we were waiting for our meals, but once the food came, the amount increased and it became unbearable. When she finally came back with my noodles, we asked for it to-go. At the point, we had our food covered with napkins and complained about the gnats, she apologized, but did nothing and left to get boxes. When she came back she said the manager would take off my meal, and we said something AGAIN, but nothing was done as she left to get the manager. As we waited, we moved ourselves to on of many empty tables to escape the gnats, and continued to wait and wait. We left feeling so gross and still hungry. We were pretty disappointed with this location. We've been to the Columbia location several times and it's wonderful. But the Laurel location, at least when we were there recently with another family, was lacking quite a bit. The food was OK. Some of it was not hot. If i get a friggin' steak I want it freshly cooked and hot!!! One of our friend's meals came out completely totally utterly wrong (medium rare = shoe-leather-well-done here, evidently). So our waiter took it back and it returned, mostly right, about 20 minutes later, well after the rest of us had finished our meals. That really sucks. Service was purely average. Our waiter was knowledgeable but kinda seemed like he didn't want to be there. And when the bill came we expected him to have comped our friend the bad meal. Nope. Full price. So we asked him to ask the manager. And what did the manager do? Whopping half off her main course. That's a really REALLY bad way to keep guests coming back. If you screw up you screw up, admit it, make it MORE THAN RIGHT, and then hope that your guests notice that you went above and beyond and will return. And give you good reviews. Came here for lunch about a week ago. Lunch was surprisingly really good. I ended up doing the unlimited soup, salad, (and chili) for about $12. I also got a flight of beer for 8.50 which has no restrictions. They had a bunch of nice seasonal beers that I got in the flight. The initial soup I got was clam chowder. It had a lot of clams and was super good. I also got the mozzarella and tomato side salad. Also super good. For round two and three I got the chili which was a bit watery and not worth it imho. I visited this BJ's location this past weekend with 3 of my other friends. As soon as we were seated, our server greeted us and got us started with some beverages. My friends and I took a little bit of time to look over and then order our entrees. Our server was attentive and always kept an eye on the beverages incase anyone needed a refill. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back again to try different items off their menu. read more

"DEPENDABLE" That's how I would rate BJ's... Every time we have come for lunch it has been a pleasant experience. Again, we met an old co-worker for lunch and conversation. The weather outside was cold, and I was feeling chilled, so I ordered a mug of hot tea. The waitress came by from time to time providing more hot water to keep my tea filled(+). I ordered the hamburger with trimmings, it came with French fries. As I look back on the plating, I guess it could have been a little fancier, but then I eat the food, not the plate. Fries were crisply, good tasting, correct salt level, could have been a touch hotter. The hamburger was good, properly cooked. Waitress was effective, met our needs but did not interfere. As we walked back to the parking lot we were discussing how comfortable we felt about the environment: Adequately quiet supporting conversation, no pressure to eat-and-move-on. You cant beat the home of the pizookie! Had such a delicious dessert experience at BJ's. We ended up getting four different pizookies white chocolate macadamia nut, cookie and cream, salted caramel, and fruity pebbles. I am disappointed with the COVID-19 approach. They have closed sections and have everyone crammed into one section sitting table to table with bo dividers or separation. When inquiring about other sitting options we were told that all sections are closed except bar and the COVID festering area. He enjoyed his meal--He noted that the chicken breast was tender but didn't care for the feta cheese. As for my meal, it was okay but nothing to write home about. I was hoping that the salmon would have had more of a kick since it has chipotle but it was pretty mild--more sweet than anything else. I have been to this location more than once. I have always had great service and good, tasty food. I recently started transitioning to becoming vegan. For my most recent visit, it was easy to choose vegetarian options from the menu. I chose their Italiano Vegetable Penne. It was delicious! I would definitely order this entree again. I'm sure the salads are great, but I'm glad I chose this over a salad. For dessert, my friends and I decided on the Pizookie Trio - mini churro and white macadamia nut pizookies. So good!! read more

Y'all why am I all the way out here in laurel? Better yet: why am I single?? And once again your girl has ventured out into another date night with the one and only: herself. And this date was very nice except driving almost an hour from my home. I've got to give it to BJs for their advertising; Ive been binge watching on RuPaul's drag race for the past week and they have literally been on every commercial break lol. I had no idea there was a bjs in the area! Any-who, I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The service was quick and polite. But I don't expect for no one to make a pretty little lady wait too long for her food; would you? I didn't wanna be greedy as I normally am, so I ordered a starter house salad, followed by the Peruvian quinoa bowl as the main dish. I washed all of it down with a glass of 14 hands merlot (my FAV) and ended with their famous traditional chocolate chip pizookie. Now THAT was good! My server was highly attentive and my food came out nice and hot and in a timely manner. The atmosphere is very nice and the location is superb (for those who actually live in the area anyways..) Glad I stopped by here! I even got a little surprise visit from a really really good friend... I guess that happens when you take a risk venture out to places far away from home! Lol. A mixed bag, overall. Of our group of 4, I probably loved my food the most. I had the mandarin glazed pork chop which was fantastic if you're like me and love pork and citrus, but my side of asparagus was not warm. The sandwiches (prime rib dip and fried chicken) got "fine" remarks from our table, but the baked ziti was not making any new fans - my partner found it a bit greasy and thought the portion was quite small. Our waitress tried so hard but was assigned way too many tables; I could tell she was really stretched thin and I felt bad for her. The pizookie, however, is still a winner. I'm mildly obsessed with the salted caramel one which is fantastic! I really had a problem with the cleanliness of the restaurant. There was a french fry in the middle of a walkway next to our table that stayed there the entire time we were dining and the staff just kept walking by it. The men's bathroom was filthy, with the worst part being the vomit all over a toilet seat. The restaurant was packed and I'm guessing understaffed so I get that things can't always get cleaned up quickly, but I had to report the issue twice because it never was addressed. read more

I have been several times and have tasted the deep dish veggie pizza, the flat bread veggie/chicken pizza, the jambalaya and the Brussel sprouts. They all were really tasty and good. However, my daughter said her chicken alfredo was dry and needed more alfredo sauce. This is not to criticize, but to help the restaurant improve. In addition, each time the waitress has been awesome and provided great customer service. I'm looking forward to returning real soon with some former colleagues. read more

My curbside ordered was to be ready @7:25pm 10/21 I did not receive my food until 8:02 I only ordered wings and a steak medium.The manager on duty Tim stated that he will comp our bill and we should receive an email confirmation, this never happened. The staff were outside smoking when the manager came out finally with our food. I tipped as I normally would, and have been coming back to this location after several mishaps but I genuinely love BJ's food and the atmosphere.However I will never return with any of my family members. I am calling corporate for this final attempt to help this store out. This day and time we are in a recession and for people to treat a paying customer this way is utterly unacceptable. read more

We were disappointed with both the food and service at this location. We really enjoy the Columbia location so we expected a similar experience at the Laurel location, but unfortunately that was not the case. The service was extremely slow and our orders both came out incorrectly from the kitchen. Whether the server put in the orders wrong or the kitchen made them wrong, I don't know. It was Mother's day weekend and the moms all were supposed to receive a complimentary glass. My husband has to ask for one for me which made it kind of a hassle instead of a nice surprise. The food is extremely mediocre but was what worse was the service. I use to wait tables (six years experience) and Victorias service was honestly horrible. She wasn't friendly or polite the entire time despite us being well mannered and kind. Forgot my salad dressing and took ten minutes to bring it by. When we asked for the check she said "I'll be back" and curtly walked away. We still tipped 25% having both been in this industry and knowing people have bad days but honestly it was unacceptable she should pursue a different field. BJs has apparently silently discontinued their berry hibiscus tea and replaced it with regular (black?) tea plus some nasty SWEET syrup. This really should be communicated. Besides being nasty tasting, it also impacts dietary considerations, but I guess they couldn't be bothered. Poor restaurant management. EDIT: Poor restaurant management continues - there's no excuse for this in general, but especially when the restaurant is at maybe 10-20% capacity tops. Dinner arrived and a chicken sandwich was inedible as prepared. Hint: it shouldn't look slimy and semi-transparent - that's how you give folks salmonella. This was our first visit to BJ's Brewhouse, we have always wanted to try this place. My husband likes to try different types of beer. We arrived at 1:30p.m. on a Saturday, there was no wait. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress came up to take out drink order followed by our food order. She was friendly and helpful. She provided my husband with input of the different types of beer that they had. She shared about her favorites and also the most popular ones. My husband ordered a beer sampler and the rack of ribs with a side of chili. I ordered their sangria and cherry salmon dish. Both the food and drinks were pretty good. They carry a full food menu. We enjoyed our time there. If you are a beer connoisseur they have 50 different types of beer on tap and various types of cocktails. If you are presented with the opportunity, this would be a decent place to try. read more

I decided to come here today with my best friend for happy hour to catch up and we decided to sit at the bar. We were immediately greeted by Tyrail. My best friend and I were talking a lot, so we got caught up in the moment when asked if we were ready; however, he was so sweet! He offered us water in the mean time while we were still browsing the menu. Bj's happy hour is actually decent. I never leave a review at restaurants, but Tyrail and Hendrix's were really great bartenders. They periodically checked up on us. I would definitely come back to this location! This 2 star review is fully attributed to the service from our HORRIBLE server, Taaniyah B. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, her unprofessional attitude was on display. As we proceeded to seat ourselves, multiple comments were overheard of her expressing her extreme displeasure of our arrival. Due to the time, restaurant options were limited. Had it not been for that, I would have walked out immediately. Throughout our dining experience, she was completely neglectful in providing any sort of service. She was not attentive to any of our needs. The only acknowledgment received was when she took our order and when she gave us the check. She didn't even provide any cutlery or plates... Thankfully we only had pizza and wings. As someone who enjoys eating out, I am extremely appreciative to those in the hospitality industry. I am a firm proponent of properly tipping and showing my gratitude. Even though Taaniyah was probably one of the worst waitresses I've experienced in a while, I almost felt bad for not leaving her a tip. At the same time, there was absolutely no way I could justify giving her something she didn't deserve. It is my hope that management addresses this behavior and Taaniyah either learns how to provide better service, or she gets out of the hospitality industry altogether. She was a terrible representation the BJ's brand. I did enjoy the food so maybe I'll try the Bowie location.
