    Raw Chicken Alfredo
    Joel N.

Second time at Bjs. One time in Raleigh and the other time in laurel. We were so excited to give a second chance but I was served raw chicken and then told it was a blood vessel. I still paid the full bill and tipped 18%. I'm not against the waitress but the manager never attempted to even look at the Raw chicken. I have worked food and retail for years so I get that things happen but I didn't under just telling me it wasn't raw.

Deep Dish Epic Five Meat Pizza - Large

I ordered the deep dish pizza from BJ's in Laurel and it was very hearty and filling. The crust was thick and buttery with a nice golden bake, holding up well under all the toppings. The pizza was loaded--pepperoni, sausage, and ham were generous, so you definitely get your money's worth if you like a meat-heavy slice. Flavor-wise, it was savory and rich, but on the greasier side, which is pretty expected with deep dish. The cheese was melty and abundant, though I would've loved a bit more balance with the sauce--it could've used a touch more seasoning or tang to cut through the richness. Overall, it's a solid deep dish option when you're craving something heavy and indulgent. Not an everyday pizza, but perfect for sharing or when you want comfort food that really sticks. ***Mondays Large Pizza is $20

Visited BJ's tonight for my boyfriend's niece's high school graduation. Grace was our waitress and she was really sweet. She did forget to bring me water but we were a party of 13 so that's understandable. I ordered ahi tuna salad which was a bit spicy with the wasabi. It was a large portion size but not enough tuna in my opinion. Also ordered the strawberry dream and that was way too sweet, I had to water it down. Otherwise, a very nice time. I like that they have daily deals throughout the week. Would happily return.

Grace is THAT GIRL. She always takes care of me when I visit, she's at the bar.... go check her out! I never have an issue with the food and the late night crew here is ALWAYS a vibe. I live around the corner so this is a go to spot for me, all the time. Whether I have a bad day, or its game night, I am here. I dont understand why the reviews are so low.... People, stop giving crappy ratings cause you're having a bad day lol, come on now. COME VISIT BJ'S IN LAUREL NOW. Well, maybe tomorrow. They're closing soon lol.

Stopped in to have a quick drink before my next adventure and was pleasantly greeted by Jade the bartender . I had an order of the pot stickers that were pan seared . You do have the option to have them fried as well. I also had the pink Cadillac martini , its X rated liquor, and sky vodka plain . Equal parts twist of lime and there it is . Great customer service , they have great craft beers too

Always have a good time when I come here. I started this review sadly a couple years ago and never finished. That is one thing that I do like about yelp's new feature of holding on to pass pictures. I came here last Sunday to watch the Steelers versus commanders game and I wasn't in the mood for something so heavy when I first arrived. I ordered an espresso martini and when I first felt the coldness on my stomach and knew I needed to have something warm so I ordered tea however they were out but I opted for hot water with lemon instead. Next I tried the chicken tortilla soup after asking to staff members if it was good. It was extremely too salty so I had to send it back. Next thing I tried was there avocado egg rolls and I wish they were crispier and I'm unsure what steps were missed and making sure they were crispy but they had a lot of room to be so much better. The last thing I tried were the chicken pot stickers and I was offered to have them steamed or pan seared so I opted for pan seared because I wanted that crisp on the bottom. They came out on top of a small mix which would have been wonderful if the dipping sauce wasn't spilled on it because that made it entirely way too salty as well. I was able to eat the potstickers and some of the top salad which were really good paired together. I know not everyone can offer brunch but at 12:30 on a sunday, it's really what I wanted and it wasn't anything to choose from. That isn't their fault but I was hoping they would have a good quality soup at least. Is that still me asking too much . . .

I moved to Laurel almost 7 years ago and I recall being able to come here and it be very enjoyable. Unfortunately, it's just like the rest of Laurel, "ghetto". Straight nose dive into the ground. We continue to try as it is super convenient location and so desperately want a local sports bar but DAMN! Place should be shut down and maybe another spot could be welcomed with less disappointment.

Saturday morning brunch with some friends, it was pretty empty when we got in. Food was pretty good, the wings were good but a bit over crisp to my liking. Burger was yummy too but missing a bit of a zing to it as it was dry to my tastes. However it was sure a hearty meal! Next time maybe I'll need to add more sauce or pickled onions to it. Loved the crispy fried jalapeños with it though! Ambiance was pretty chill they played a lot of popular jams which was fun and enjoyable for my friends and I to dine in. The boba drinks I got was some white peach drink but I got it as a Virgin drink. It was pretty yummy but has a slight tart flavoring as lemonade was used at the base! Overall I think it'll be a good place to try other foods on their menu!

I came here a few years ago and the deep dish pizza used to be something BJ's was actually known for. Now? The quality has completely fallen off. The ingredients taste cheap--like something straight out of a Domino's box, not a real restaurant. And the worst part? There wasn't a drop of pizza sauce on it. Who serves a "pizza" with no sauce? It was ridiculous and honestly a waste of money. I'd never order this again.

I've had the nachos twice. They are decent but definitely dry. You MUST eat them while they are piping hot or it's a problem.

Has anyone tried the happy hour here? Does it get really crowded?

I've been to happy hour a few times. The latest was on a Friday. I arrived right at 5:00pm and my friends and I were able to get a booth near the bar. There was still seating in the rest of the restaurant. But around 5:45/6:00pm, most of the… Read more

The bar has a nice buzz about it but isn't overly crowded. This a bar which seats 10ish guests, plenty of 4top seating, and a pool table in the main area of the bar. There is also outdoor picnic style seating set up outside; it seems like that outdoor seating is sometime available but also sometimes not (maybe depending on the weather or what staff is available). The food is solid; I've had the old bay wings, clam strips, and fries. My girlfriend really loved the clamstrips (and that's saying something because she's had so many from different spots). The wings were good but not the best I've ever had. We got mostly well drinks on our most recent visit; they were all well made and were at a great price point. Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Menus and drink orders were brought promptly. I chose the fish tacos, and our server - Casey - asked if I wanted the fish pan seared or blackened. We had a discussion over how many chips and salsa were served with it, because my friend wanted some with his veggie burger. We learned that the amount with an entrée is just right - about two handfuls - so we each had some, with my friend's being a substitution for fries. I almost can't find the words to describe those tacos! The fish was moist, perfectly seasoned and generously heaped in each taco. Often, tacos lean heavily on the veg elements but these had just the right amount of slaw. The flavor of the fish was so delicate and savory. Honestly, one taco was all I could manage. Although they were street taco sized, it was so filling. I only ate a handful of chips; they were good but nothing special, as was the tiny cup of salsa. My friend said his veggie burger was excellent, and he enjoyed the bit of chips and salsa as well. He just had water, while I tried a Corona NA. The bill was around $56, which is very reasonable. There's plenty of free parking in the shopping center. Great service, good prices, excellent food - I'll go back!

Unfortunately, my recent visit ended on a sour note that I can't ignore. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and was enjoying it until I bit down on something sharp. A bone fragment had made its way into my dish and cut my gums. Not a pleasant experience by any stretch. I calmly handed the piece to the bartender and flagged the issue. To their credit, the staff was attentive and immediately asked if I'd like to order something else. I appreciated the gesture and ordered the short rib meal to go. Here's where things went sideways. When the bill arrived, the short rib was on it. Given the circumstances, the implication had been clear, the replacement meal would be taken care of. I asked to speak with the manager (Cio) to clarify. Rather than owning the situation, the manager offered a flat 15% discount. On a meal I ordered because I found a bone in my food that drew blood.I declined the short rib entirely. Look, accidents happen in kitchens. What separates good restaurants from great ones is how they recover. A 15% discount after a guest is injured by your food isn't recovery. It's a miss. The ambience is nice. The food has real potential. But until management understands what genuine hospitality looks like when things go wrong, I'll be taking my appetite elsewhere.

Remington's sits on a long stretch of road with two major towns at each end: College Park and Laurel. There have been nights in bad weather, over the years, driving along this dark road where nothing else in the densely built suburban landscape to the left and right of it was open. But Remington's faithfully was and still is with its lit sign. Sort of like a true outpost in an old Western. Remington's is all bar stools, bar and high-top tables unless you are eating at the picnic tables or smoking cigars and sipping whiskey on the covered outdoor patio. But if you want to eat indoors, I think there are only 4 standard tables in the restaurant. This is a clean and comfortable bar atmosphere with tv monitors for sports. Yelp asked if Remington's was intimate, and yes, because it is, 'dive cozy.' I wonder if Remington's hasn't gotten a fancier menu over the years to keep pace with the not-so-distant University of Maryland students. Since I've never been inside, I wouldn't know how the menu used to be. I was surprised to find - in the outpost-like atmosphere Remington's has always been located in - most burgers are over $18. But this is one place where I'm not complaining because the food was darn good. Our crowd appeared as locals, less elite and middle-aged gathered for the FIFA cup. Let's start with the mussels. If I were a Belgian chef I do not think that I could have made these mussels - and their glorious broth - better. The mussels were tender and flavorful. The cream broth was the best. This broth was the most creamy and simultaneously ultra-garlicky that I've enjoyed. I loved the tomatoes seasoned with a spicy kick. This is a culinary refinement because if they are actually cooked into the broth, the tomatoes would change the color of the white broth, and its taste. These tomatoes were a welcome touch. I don't know if this is a Maryland style of broth but sign me up. I'm talking a mussel broth love affair over here. The cheesesteak was better than most in this area. I wasn't hallelujah-ing in the aisles but I liked that the meat actually wasn't flimsy. It tasted like a thinly-chopped ribeye, a bit chewy with a sear. I liked the size of the strips. Was it actually steak vs. frozen beef paper slices? I think I can say, "yes," it's actually a cheese steak." The Reuben sandwich was well seasoned. I think it was thousand island, but whatever it was had a nice flavor. It's not easy to find Reubens these days. I had a friend who used to go and pick up tamales at Remington's, decades ago, and share them. Now their menu is more American with no tamales. On Yelp, however, I saw an Indian Butter Chicken pizza but I didn't find it this visit. I wonder if it could be requested. They have many varieties of pizza combos. I'm just taking a wild guess and thinking their pizzas are as equally flavorful. I ordered a cranberry crush. Yum! I don't know if it was juice added to another orange, fruity mixture but I loved it. It was sweet at first and then strong: all in the first sip. Sampled beers: 1. The Main Beer Company's "Lunch" IPA. This is straight grapefruit hops on the palette. A characteristic strong body. Bitter as should be for a New England IPA. 2. Bells Two-Hearted IPA (ABV 7.0%): this one was very drinkable and by that I mean I really enjoyed it. It is brewed with centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest. Yes. It is described as having, "hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit." 3. Elysian's Space Dust (ABV 8.2%) is pure IPA. Strong likely from the chinook. It's from Michigan. It's described as a "Great Western premium two row with c-15 and Dextri-pils." Not a beer snob but I appreciate the geeking-out and Dr. Seuss-inspired branding. New England IPA fans will love this one. I'm only a fan of West Coast-style IPA's. 4. RaR Grove City Hefeweisen (ABV 5.3%) is a clear and light hefeweizen. Easy to drink. Highly recommended, with a few added oranges. A half of a ripe white peach would be interesting in this beer, if the bar happened to have them. Remington's markets Whiskey Flights as a way to taste rare bottles. They do not list the prices on these flights. I guess it's an, "if they have to ask ..." scenario. I am intrigued about these whiskey flight prices. I didn't catch the times of happy hour but there is also a golden hour. I also saw daily weekday prices from 7pm and onward. Maybe this is the golden hour. Like the one restaurant open through rain, wind, sleet and snow, serving up its magic faithfully for decades. Whatever the case, this is one dive bar that over-delivers in food and beverage quality and taste. Applause for Remington's! #localtastebyjenny

I went to Remington on a Friday for lunch solo after looking for a restaurant I've never been to…read morebefore. Parking is limited, so luckily i had no issue finding a spot during lunch. When i arrived, I was greeted and was able to choose my choice of seating since it was not a lot of people inside. There was one server but she was still attentive and friendly to all customers. This restaurant seems perfect for watching a game as they have a nice bar with multiple tvs. I ordered the buffalo chicken dip and the cajun shrimp Alfredo. I asked for a less spicy version of the Alfredo and they made the spice level perfectly! The buffalo chicken dip was the star of the show. It had amazing cheezy flavor with a slight kick and lumps of chicken of the perfect size. I will definitely return!
