Got a pick up order today and what a mess. $25 gluten free pizza was only like 9" in diameter. I was assuming for the price it would be at least 12". Other local restaurants charge $18-22 for a 12" gluten free often times offering fresh and non run of the mill toppings. Chicken sandwich we ordered didn't have any sauce and I was missing the fries I ordered. Scampi was decent but I hate when places leave the shrimp tails on for pasta dishes. Overall this location is overpriced and obviously can't take the time to check if food is prepared to any kind of standard. Won't be back ever. read more

Everything in the menu is great. Good for kids and family friendly service. The manager greeted us and made us feel special.

After picking up a friend from the GR airport we stopped at BJs, a favorite of my friend, but a first for me; the bartender, Madison, was wonderful- warm personality, funny, but didn't linger; and she made me the best Old Fashioned I have ever had! Of course, they're known for their beer and I also had a light lager which was fantastic, my friend had a Jeremiah Red, which he loved. The food was outstanding; not outstanding for 'bar food' but just outstanding by any measure. Overall, it was a truly delightful couple hours and Madison was a joy; I hope they know what they have in her. I highly recommend this location. read more

The service was absolutely horrible. The waitress was very kind, but the manager was completely rude. Part of our food order did not come out and one of our drinks did not arrive until the meal was almost complete. The manager was very visibly frustrated and taking that out on us, his guests. After not receiving part of our meal and receiving one of the drinks at the end of the meal, the waitress avoided our table and taking payment, which was sitting on the table, waiting for 10 minutes. We had to go up to the bar to try to cash out our meal when the manager passed their table several times finally decided to step in and take payment. Upon asking his staff what the manager's name was they were very clearly uncomfortable sharing his name and talking when he was within an earshot. I assume what looks like a terrible culture to work in is translating to their terrible service. The manager, Chris needs a serious attitude adjustment and some training in culture and service. read more

My wife and I went to BJs Sunday for dinner. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Finally after 35 minutes, my wife went up to the lady that seated us and asked where is our waitress? She followed my wife back to our table. Said she was sorry and took our order. After another half hour, someone else came to our table and was going to take our order. We told her it was already taken and she said she didn't see any order for our table. She asked what did the lady look like, my wife tried to explain what she looked like, and I said it was the lady taking names when we arrived. Of course after over an hour the lady must of went home because a guy now was taking names. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It really wasn't that busy, also there was a guy sitting at the bar VAPING! Eaten here before and absolutely loved it. Not today. Ordered mozzarella sticks and they came out cold. Asked waiter to fix, second batch also came out cold. He took plate back, removed both orderes from our bill and just said "let me know if you want a free appetizer ", rather than just bring a third batch of mozzarella sticks. Party of 5, meal came out piece by piece. 2 members were done by the time my meal came out. Waiter was not attending to refills on beverages. Bill was split incorrectly, and waiter got kind of rude with me, just wanting to understand it. Incredibly slow service. Awful experience more than once. Last time I was there the food took over 2 hours. When it came out, it was COLD and NASTY. It was so bad our server just told the whole section that we could leave. There were so many tables that were empty with full plates of awful food. New place in town, my wife had heard from friends that it was a really nice place so decided to give it a try. We got there about 5 o'clock, so it was easy for us to get our table. Upon ordering a beer to go with dinner we were told that most of their beer did not arrive on shipment so we really didn't have much of a choice as they said 3/4 of their stock was not available. Kind of disappointing. When asked how the pizza compared to the pizza next-door (Ucello's), the server said their pizza was trash. I thought that was a terrible thing to say, as Ucellos has earned the right to succeed in Grand Rapids. The food was real good and we didn't have to wait long. However, they're growing pains should be going away about now. Just not sure it will. I hope so. read more

Place is just opening , I start with that because there were some hickups . I have been to bj's before and they all have consistent good food and great beer choices . This one the food was almost as good , but they need a little more practice . The service was a struggle - we sat at the bar and became a "shared " customer . Our 1st bartender was a little weak I. Both personality , speed and follow up . Fortunately the 2nd bartender was good at all the above , unfortunately he didn't stick around long - the 3rd one took my card to pay , set it down and I had to remind him about 10 minutes later . If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. Our reservation was at 530pm and we were finally seated at 6pm. Our server didn't show up to our table for at least another 10 minutes. They blamed a shift change for this inconvenience. I find it hard to believe a successful restaurant would make a shift change at 530pm on CHRISTMAS EVE. 4 out of 5 people had cold food, 4 out of 5 people had mistakes on their food. The kitchen manager came out and promised to make it right. One person got their meal comped (extremely overcooked sirloin steak) and one got 3.95 off of their food. Everyone else paid full price for incorrect/cold food. If anyone ever asks me where to go for dinner, I will absolutely tell them where NOT to go. I'd rather give a BJ.... Unless you're just trying to have a drink. The bartenders are delightful and I would highly recommend them!! read more

So I ate here over the weekend and my experience was subpar at best. Since it was the weekend I knew there was a good chance the wait could be long in getting in an order so that wasn't the issue. My issue was the food. I know it's bar/brew house food but that shouldn't be hard to screw up. I told my waitress twice that I wanted my burger medium and it came out well done, with a burnt bun and little to no condiments. The waitress was great and helpful and I hope she can get a better job at an establishment that cares. read more

Went to BJ's with my girlfriend on Tuesday, and it was the BEST experience I've had this far. (We haven't been since they first opened). The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Our server, Ari, was an absolute gem! He was friendly, professional, personable, knowledgeable and attentive! We had caesar salad (9/10), spinach dip (8/10), the deep dish ziti (10/10), the chicken parmigiana (10/10), A Boba Margherita, and the Strawberry Dream (a signature mocktail). The ambience, floor lay out, and music choices are very refreshing, and the staff are all super friendly. My only complaint would be that this restaurant is REGULARLY out of main menu items, but there's a lot to choose from so that's not a huge deal. If you've never been, or if you haven't been since they first opened this location, definitely try it out or give it another shot! They have an extensive alcohol repertoire, the food is delicious and the portion sizes are generous. The prices are also very fair. read more

Both times we've came the kitchen has been very slow, but the food and drinks were delicious. The atmosphere is good. Our 2 apps came after our main dish. one we had asked to get in a to go box and the waitress checked with us before the other one came out to make sure if we still wanted it. We appreciated that because we were finishing up at that point and it was better to just not have to buy that at that point. I will say that was our second time striking out on trying the triple dip sampler platter so maybe it wasn't meant for us. Amina was an exceptional waitress that was very attentive and friendly. The great service she provided made up for the wait time and it was a lovely experience overall. It was also st patrick's day so it was understandably busy. read more

We made a reservation for a specific time and still had not been seated 45 minutes later because there was not a table available. Hostess was very nice about things and it was clearly not her fault, however there was so much disorganization behind the scenes. This was a really disappointing experience. Can't comment on the food because we are still waiting to sit down. Updating this to say that, while we waited for 65 minutes total to be seated, once we sat down the service was great, and the food was good. We had our ROMEO lunch today at the new eatery behind Chic Whatever in CENTERPOINTE mall. It's called BJ's Brewery and I'm giving it a 5 out of 5 rating. My choice of food was properly prepared , as I requested it. The portions were more than average and it was very tasty. In addition, as the name imply's, the brewed beverages were numerous and my choice of a specific dark ale, chosen from three sample size portions, was the right one for me. First time here. Very large bar, plenty of tables and an outdoor area. Music playing in the background. Fun and lively place. Everyone I have had contact with has been very friendly. Greeted walking in and by 3 different people at the bar. Crystal at the bar is awesome. Fast friendly and will take good care of you. I have just ate the best bone in wings I think I have ever had. Both of us decided to try the enlightened Mediterranean chicken bowl. My wife requested no tomatoes or onions on hers, I didn't have any special requests for mine. It took a while for the food to come out, once it finally did, neither of our dishes had tomatoes or onions. Sure, I could have sent it back, but I also didn't want to wait around any longer than we already had. To say we were unimpressed was an understatement. They gave us a free dessert and a coupon for next time to make up for the wait time and incorrect sandwiches, but we're waiting 15+ minutes for those to come out.
