My family decided to have our Memorial Day dinner at BJ's Restaurant And Brewhouse and this was the second time we have encountered problems with BJ's Restaurant And Brewhouse and I can't figure it out. When my family put in our order my father requested blue cheese crumbles on his French dip sandwich but found melted blue cheese instead then my mom received no horseradish sauce and then the final thing my family noticed was all our food was cold and they forgot napkins too. I Used to go to BJ's for lunch, always on weekdays not Friday. so not crowded. Food and drink is really good. About 2 or 3 years ago they started with playing this music REALLY REALLY loud. at least in the lounge area. so loud you cant hear the conversation at your table. Manger Claims it is company policy. yeah right. Why are we sitting in the lounge area? because about 2 or 3 years ago the waitress service became a problem too. So we have to get u p and get stuff like ketchup, beer , napkins, etc. The waitress serves the meal, and disappears never to be seen again. this has happened at least the last 8 or 9 times i have gone there. So slow, inattentive service, forgotten orders, and brutally loud music. I get it they play the music loud for the night crowd, but it is lunch time , give me a break. and the assistant manager turns down the music like 3 decibels after you complain 2 times and the table next to yours is complaining too. so not really a policy. but she won't turn it down enough. bogus. I have been going to this establishment for awhile. The food has gone from bad to worse. Service at the Bar area is good. I oedered a Smokehouse burger Medium and after 30 minutes a burger resembling shoe leather arrived. I couldn't even cut it is was so well done. 1 star - Not good After a really long time of not being to a BJs I really wanted a better experience. Had the avocado egg rolls and let me save you time and $15 bucks. They were awful. While im sure they arent made fresh in house and probably just fried. The avocado was so brown in all of them. BJ's service is unpredictable. We went one day last month and had to do headstands (exaggerating) to get the servers attention. I ordered Tomato Bisque and it was served cold. Yes, cold and unless I specifically order a cold soup, I'd rather it be piping hot as it should be. We had to ask for refills, our appetizer was served WITH our meal and we had to ask for the check. I think we were checked on once? Then last week we had a lovely and attentive server. Drinks were delivered and refilled without request, hot food was served hot, cold food was served cold. If I could leave negative stars I would. We put ourselves on the waiting list thinking it was going to be busy on a late Saturday night. When we arrived and checked into the front desk and we were told to allow a few more minutes to be seated because our table was being wiped down. We were patient and got sat within 10 mins. We looked at the menu and were really looking forward to a good date night meal however while we waited, we made eye contact with plenty of servers and not one of them can at least smile and let us know they will be right with us. At least to acknowledge us. There was less than 10 tables in the restaurant. We waited with not even a drink order taken. After 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave and no one seemed to even care or notice that either. It was very upsetting as we usually go to our Fresno location and love BJ's food and pizookies. Went to this location on July 4th around 5pm with a party of 5, one adult, three kids and a toddler. When I walked through the door the host staff looked at me like we didn't belong there which was very uncomfortable, couldn't figure out where to sit me, very little information was given to me regarding wait time. Once seated, staff could not figure out a seating arraignment and packed us into a small table in between the booths. The high chair provided had broken buckles and I had to request a new one. The server was approachable at first, took our drinks which arrived within reason. She disappeared and another server showed up who had very little enthusiasm and came off unapproachable. Appetizers were order and showed up with in a reasonable time frame. I had to ask for place settings napkins and drink refills from host. In addition to plates for appetizers. Food order was taken and showed up in a reasonable time frame. Kids chicken and fries were almost cold, steak on salad was cold. Waitress disappeared. I had to move empty plates and cups to an empty table behind me as no one would clear the table or even offer. I sat for 20 minutes after we finished meals for the waitress who disappeared, who showed up with me receipt, stating something to the effect of "the other waitress checked us out, is there anything else I can get you." Frustrated at this point, I still needed food to go, and desert for the kids. To go food and desert arrived within reason. I was then presented with my bill. Absolutely horrible experience. As a waiter with over 5 years of experience, I understand that mistakes happen in the service industry. But this was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I've ever had. First, we ordered a medium ribeye and received a well-done steak. Honest mistake, I thought. However, our server disappeared entirely. While my family ate, I sat there waiting, scanning the restaurant for anyone who could help. After 10 minutes, I finally flagged down another waiter. To their credit, they were polite and promised to handle it. Then the star of this disaster, Moses enters (the manager). Without introducing himself, he "clarifies" the situation and assures us the steak will be replaced. But the moment my mother casually mentioned that her vegetables were "too spicy" and "lacked flavor," he snapped back with, "Well, I guess we shouldn't order that next time, right?" Who in the right mind says that kind of thing to a customer? It didn't end there. Moses repeatedly ignored us despite walking just feet away. This wasn't a case of being too busy or hard of hearing, I spoke loud enough to get the attention of nearby diners. To top it all off, the original waiter returned, after an unexplained and lengthy break, just to take our payment without a single apology for his absence. Oh, and the replacement steak? It was scorched on the outside and blue on the inside. I get that it's a mid-tier restaurant, and perfection isn't expected. I wonder why this place is still in business. We decided to leave without our orders being taken and went to Olive Garden instead. Like night and day; in no less than 10 minutes- we were sitting with our endless salad serving; breadsticks and drinks and in no less than 5 minutes; the food came; which always is excellent. When someone came to finally help us we placed our drink and food order all together. After some time we only got half the waters for the table. Had to ask for some more. The restaurant didn't seem super busy so I couldnt use that as a reason why they were slow. Food finally came out and wasn't super warm. Never got our drinks.
