Came here on a friend's recommendation, and since she was treating the three of us, I couldn't say "no"! I used to visit the BJs near my house in the North Bay, but that closed a few years ago, and I was actually looking forward to a BJs Reunion! , We got there just after opening and were promptly seated by the hostess, and then greeted by our server, Hector T., who took our drink orders - we already had a plan for those! The drinks included a "lucky ducky," served in a little white bathtub and, of course, with a yellow rubber ducky floating in it. This tub held at least six types of liquor! The person who ordered seemed to really enjoy it! The ambience here is clean, very traditional BJs decor with the bar visible and attractive with lights and colors and textures of all the bottles on the wall behind. We ordered a few items, including a Blonde fish 'n chips (but subbed a fruit bowl for the chips, so more like a "fish 'n fruits" dish!), a strawberry fields chicken salad, and honey sriracha Brussels sprouts with a side wedge salad (no bacon, extra dressing!). The food came quickly and was well-plated, and looked too good to eat. But eat we did . . . The salad was a big wedge, very fresh and crispy, with diced tomato, red onion, and crumbled blue cheese. The fish was fresh and light, and the strawberry salad was fresh as well, with just enough protein to balance out the veggies. I love these Brussels sprouts, lightly charred and drizzled with a tasty, slightly tangy sauce. And, of course, we had to try the "new" (limited-time) blue Monster pizookie. Yes, blue! It was vanilla bean ice cream, with a hard chocolate shell (like the old-fashioned ice cream cones were dipped in) on a hot, chewy brownie base. Of all the BJ's locations I've been to, this one is by far the best. The staff here are amazing! Always attentive and friendly. The food is always top notch. If you love beer and you're not a beer club member, you should be. It totally pays for itself if you take advantage of all the perks. $32 every two months, you get a bottle of beer and four cans of something special. In addition you get one free appetizer, a free pizookie, and a free pizza for takeout or delivery. (If you do the math, they're paying you) I happened to go there tonight and watch the 9ers lose to the Seahawks during divisional playoffs (boo!) but the food and ambience was great We started with a Korean style rib special appetizer the split the pork chop special, piranha pale ale, and the salted caramel pizookie. The service was great. We were seated quickly. The waitress took our orders and served drinks within minutes. The manager stopped by and we were able to ask questions on the menu. Came here recently with a friend on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was quite enjoyable. The menu is extensive and I got the Mediterranean pita tacos. I really like the dish but the side grain salad was not good. Little flavor and a bunch of stuff to get stuck in your teeth. My friend ordered the vegetarian pizza and shared a slice and it was really good. The server was friendly and helpful. My only complaint about the service was that they sat us in a two top right in the breezeway of the door opening and I asked them for another seat and the host declined my request, saying he had just sat another section. We had a nice lunch at BJ's today. Things didn't start out great though. When we arrived, at 11:25 a.m., the place was not busy at all. We checked in at the front and the hostess said it would be about 4 minutes before we could be seated. I thought that was strange because the place was nearly empty. There was a family before us that were also waiting for a table. Four minutes turned into 10 minutes and then we were seated. The hostess handed us menus and left. One of the menus was filthy. It had dried-up tomato sauce or ketchup on the front of it. How can you hand a guest a filthy menu? How disgusting. That really turned me off. I had to get up and go to the front to ask for another menu. I told the lady that the menu needed to be cleaned. She apologized. Our server, Angle, took excellent care of us. We first ordered drinks and a wedge salad to share, but needed to study the menu longer since it's been years since we've eaten here. Our drinks and salad came out fast. I decided to try the bacon guacamole deluxe burger, medium-rare, with fries. My husband ordered the BJ's brewhouse protein bowl with tri-tip and a root beer float. The wedge salad was delicious and refreshing. The extra blue cheese crumbles on top were very good. We both enjoyed it. Our food came out shortly after we finished the salad. My burger was cooked perfectly. There was a very generous portion of guacamole on the burger and I have to say, it was one of the best guacamole burgers I've had in a long while. The fries were also very good. They were crispy and salted just right. The protein bowl with tri-tip was very tasty. The tri-tip was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My husband really enjoyed it and would order it again in the future. The root beer float was also a winner. There was a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Angel refilled my iced tea by bringing me a new one, which was very nice. Overall, our service with Angel was excellent as well as our food. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Have been here a couple of times . It is mostly crowded if you go in the evenings or on weekends. Weekdays are little better. Quite few times I had to wait to be seated but it is conveniently located inside oakridge mall , so while you are waiting you can go and do some quick shopping . Food is good as with any other location . Staff is friendly. They have happy hour and some specials for each day of the week , so don't forget to check that out if you are visiting . My all time favorite is avocado egg roll and slow roasted tri tip . They have some really good beers and nice cocktails as well . All in all good . read more

My husband and I dined in on a Saturday night and were able to beat the rush and get sat immediately. This place is prepared for big parties. There were tons of servers and from what I could tell everyone around us was taken care of fairly quickly. Ordered the avocado egg rolls, which were 3 egg rolls halved, they were pretty good, the acocado wasn't too mushy. As well as the baked ziti which was a big serving and came out hot and bubbling. I got the mini buffalo chicken pizza and was a big fan of the deep dish style crust. Very filling for one person. We visited this restaurant for the first time Tuesday night, and it definitely met our expectations! The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. We also ordered the margarita flight which came with four different flavors of margaritas my favorite was the white peach boba and strawberry! I often go to this BJ's for lunch with my wife. Today I got a server, her name is Jackie, and absolutely pleasant young lady. Her service was excellent plus plus. Jackie took our orders promptly and we received our drinks in a timely manner. In fact I never had to ask for refills, Jackie was right there at our table constantly. Our food came and Jackie asked if everything was okay. Soon after she returned to make sure our meal was okay. To get a server who is spot on, very pleasant and sociable is somewhat rare because most establishments the server is so busy that once you get served it's hard to get refills etc. Jackie is an asset to BJ's. It has been a good while since I ate at the BJ's Restaurant at Oakridge Mall. I remember this was the place to be back in the day. We decided to go here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. In the back of the menu, they have daily meals. It was Wednesday, so for $12 you can get a Loaded Burger with unlimited fries. This was a great deal. I got the brisket and bacon burger and was so juicy and tasted great. The fries really surprised me with its good seasoning and perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Our waitress was great, but I had to knock a star off from being a 5 star review because my seat had huge lump on it. I had to constantly had to reposition myself and it was annoying. This is at one of the booths in the bar area. They need to fix that asap. read more

Late post review but I had a chance to come over the holidays and try their holiday cocktail special. It felt very cute and festive. The whipped cream did make the cup feel a bit sticky but taste was great. We dined during lunch hours on a weekday and service was great. We got checked on frequently and the food arrived timely. Loved the clam chowder in the bread bowl. This was a meal in itself so I actually had to take my salad to go as I felt so full. My daughter got a burger and she finished which she rarely does in one sitting. Definitely will come back to see any other changes in the menu. read more

I've been to other BJs locations and I have to say that this is the worst one I've been to. I was here for the vibes with my friends, and for a good meal, and I thought to splurge after a long hard week at work. I loved the clam chowder, not bad, but I was so disappointed with the prime rib. It was very tough as if it sat out for a while, the potatoes just tasted off for some reason. Also the prime rib was seasoned so poorly and tasted like pastrami. If I wanted pastrami I would have bought it myself elsewhere. I will either order something else or never come here for prime rib or potatoes. Service however was amazing, the food wasn't his fault. read more

We stopped here earlier in the week for a late evening dinner. The front of house hostess was polite and seated us quickly in a both. However it took 30 mins before a waiter took our order. The waiter also served other people who came after us before us so we were starting to get annoyed. Finally we were set however he didn't come back to ask if we needed any drink refills or wanted to order anything else. My kids brought me here for father's day!!! I got the best kids in the world!!! Again, with the "Goon Sqaud" Laiza and Neo. Laiza order the Rib eye and Neo had the New Orleans Jambalaya Laiza really loved the rib eye and Neo could not finish his plate but was still satisfied! My family always has a good time when we come to BJ's. The food, while it normally tastes excellent, left something to be desired this time. My mom and I both ordered the same steak dish, but with different doneness. The kitchen mixed them up. Normally we could have just switched plates, but this time since she requested the sauce on the side of hers, this wasn't possible. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak, which he has had many times before and the steak was an odd texture and seemed undercooked. I ordered one of their new non alcoholic drinks and while it was excellent, it was very sweet. Our waiter was personable and was very kind. Most of them are. I had a great Bday visit. The hostess was excellent sat me where I wanted a booth, The waiter was great, informed me of a Free Pzookie cookie I would get on my bday. The food was great. Nice and hot. The clam chowder soup was NOM NOM city with plenty of clam pieces in it. Overall my visit was a 5 star visit. Maybe the time of 2 pm was the non peek hour and not so busy. I saw a lot of bad, crappy reviews and some were great and others were poor. I got nothing bad or negative to say. Just pick your time is my only real advice. I went on a not so busy time. Some of you people go at the latest and most busiest times. Like any place in San Jose California we have over a million people. Restaurants and bars are going to be busy. We've been coming to BJ's since it opened and still enjoy coming here. This review is for the salads. They used to be fantastic (miss the chopped barbecue chicken and Italian salads). When the strawberry salad was added to the recipe we loved it. My wife and I were in last week and the Asian Chicken salad, which I've enjoyed in the past, was just a bowl of lettuce with a couple of slices of red pepper with the chicken breast. And it's almost $22! My wife's strawberry salad had very few strawberries (or anything else) and was not the salad she's enjoyed in the past, again just a bowl of lettuce. We're going to skip the salads for awhile but keep coming back and try the salads later on, hoping you can make them the way they were originally intended. read more

Ordered desert for the kids and it never came. Asked for utensils and plates multiple times and had to get up and go get them for somewhere. Serve changed in the middle of the shift and the new one came said they never put in your order for the kids deserts. Ordered pizza and it came all cold and cheese wasn't even melted on it. There's pretty much always a wait time here, but once you're seated you will be served right away and the food and drinks come out very fast. I always get drinks and apps here. I love their flights, they don't skimp on the alcohol. I wish the restaurant was a little bigger, but it's in a mall so it's what we get.
