Food was good, but the service was disappointing. I was really excited when this place opened. My partner ordered a dish and surprised me with an Ahi Tuna Bowl. Unfortunately, the last time I checked, they no longer have this on their menu. The ahi tuna was fresh and delicious, tossed in spicy poke dressing with avocado and onions, and topped with a drizzle of cilantro cream over a bed of rice. The four of us dined there one afternoon, looking forward to a nice lunch. However, the lady behind the counter seemed to be in a bad mood. She forgot to put utensils on our tray and huffed and puffed when we asked for them. When we requested water, she only gave us two cups, even though there were four of us. I felt a bit sorry for the lady who "helped" us out; it seemed like she might have been having a bad day or didn't feel like working. It was quiet in the restaurant with only a few people in there, so I'm not sure what her deal was. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the Salmon Bowl. The Cajun marinated salmon was very tasty with white rice, beans, sliced avocado, tomato-cilantro mix, pickled onions, cream sauce & roasted tomatillo salsa. The rice was soft and fluffy, while the fries were okay and came in a small portion. I also got crispy chicken tenders, which came with kaleslaw and zucchini with rosemary. The chicken tenders were tiny and just okay, and the diced zucchini was fine, though the rosemary was a bit overpowering. The kaleslaw was good, with a nice crunchy texture and flavor. LOVE their fish tacos! I used to be a fish taco Tuesday at Rubio's gal. Sadly, there are no more Rubio's in Northern California :( SO happy I found California fish Grill. I especially love that they are 100% sustainable seafood. So far, I've tried their battered fish taco, battered shrimp taco, fish sandwich, and clam chowder - everything was really good. Plus, it's reasonably priced. Staff has been very friendly and attentive. Establishment is very clean. I rarely see dirty tables when I walk in. They're on top of keeping tables clean. Only feedback I have - I wish their sauces and lemon for dine in were not packaged in plastic. Seems like an unnecessary use of plastic that can easily be avoided. This was my first time trying California Fish Grill so I didn't really know what to expect. You probably can't get freshly prepared fish like this at this price anywhere else. The grilled wild rockfish I got was flaky and tender, and the grilled pineapple skewer it came with was surprisingly sweet and juicy. That said, it's not the most exciting or craveable food around, so it's hard to say if I'd be back, especially since I paid around $16 including tip. The sides I had (kaleslaw and zucchini) were just okay. It also took longer than I expected for the food to come out even though it wasn't busy. But if you're craving fresh fish and don't feel like going to an even more expensive sit-down restaurant then this could be worth a stop for you! read more

Came in not knowing what to expect, and now I can't stop thinking about this place. California Fish House just opened and it already feels like a regular stop for me. Anchoring in the corner of this busy shopping center, you'll find this California Fish Grill frequently packed and on our most recent visit on a Saturday evening, it was busy; nearly all the tables were taken! We came in for a takeout pickup, specifically for their sides to complement the rest of our at-home meal. Granted it was about an hour from closing, it wasn't the best timing and it seemed the food took a long time to be prepared. Fortunately, it did seem like the food was made to order for other patrons so freshness is expected here! Once the food came out, we were off and enjoyed the meal comfortably at home. We got a variety of sides including their fire roasted corn (a favorite of ours), cauliflower rice, and kale slaw. We usually crave the chowder but we passed on it this time around. Everything tasted great! We noticed in addition to their set grill plates that come with a choice of protein, sauce, and sides, they also have bowls including poke, shrimp and salmon. Will have to consider trying those next time! Overall, California Fish Grill and all their franchised locations do a wonderful job with their food and in training up their staff. The food comes out fresh and tasty and is decently portioned for the price you pay. Value is definitely there and if you're a TooGoodToGo-er, you'll find their leftovers just as appealing. This location is just particularly busy during peak times but it is in a decently sized mall so you'll likely be able to spend a bit of time here before or after your meal. We tried both the protein bowl and the Baja tacos. Both were delicious. The protein bowl was on a bed of lettuce and had plenty of fish and a nice spicy bite to the sauce. This place is just so good, and great customer service! There's lot of seating and very spacious place. I loved the lobster nachos. I originally came here for the protein bowl, which I got for free from the app. after looking at the menu, they had so many options I had to try more. This place recently opened. We decided to try it with the hopes they'd have more than just fish :) We were pleasantly surprised that the menu had several options and the kids menu was decent. The ambiance was calming and clean. It was nicely decorated and there were a good amount of tables. There was also outdoor seating available. The bathrooms were nice, but for being lunch time, one of the stalls didn't have toilet seat covers. Interestingly there was no trash receptical inside the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though there were staff available customers had to place their orders on screens. We couldn't figure out how to order a beer on the screen, which was odd. We also had to pay with a card, not cash. We came in as a group of 6. We ordered the Shrimp Avocado Caesar salad, a Battered Fish taco combo with a shrimp skewer on the side, kids chicken tenders with fries, a Salmon plate combo with white rice and fries, a Salmon burger with fries and a Tilapia combo plate with brown rice and zucchini. We got one bottle of water, two waters and two fountain drinks. Overall it was around $98. There were a good number of customers and the staff were saying goodbye as everyone left, which was a nice touch. Our food was served on real plates, which was great. When we were done, we were able to leave our plates and silverware on the table and a staff came to bus the table afterwards. Came here for Friday night dinner. It was pretty crowded as it is lent season. We ordered on the kiosk but were also greeted by a friendly employee who mentioned she can also help us if we have questions or issues. We first decided to dine in but it was crowded and some tables were still dirty. So we informed the employee to change our order for take out. It wasn't a problem. A welcoming addition to the Costco business plaza! It's pretty entertaining to sit down and watch the crazy Raising Cane's line across the street. Haha. I was in that line before, so I get it. California Fish isn't super crowded, but the tables were mostly filled when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to getting our food, which was reasonable. I thought the food was delicious! I especially loved the corn, although it's an extra $2.50, which stings a little. They do offer bottled beer and wine, but sadly, no draft options. The service today October 28 2025 was HORRIBLE . The only option was to order at the kiosk, when I told the young lady standing behind the counter that it's difficult for me to use the kiosk , she didn't offer to help me order what I wanted, she just kept telling me had to use the kiosk. I have a disability so it is difficult for me to use the kiosk. I walked out & I went back to my car, i then decided to go to Raising Canes in the same shopping. My first time at a California Fish and Girll was today and thought to treat myself to a healthier dinner. I ordered a plate with seared ahi tuna, cajun style sauce, kaleslaw, and grilled asparagus. I spent about $25 including tip on my order. I was excited to try their seared ahi tuna but when I received my order it was cooked all the way through. At first, I was disappointed but thought to let the manager know that my order was wrong but that I didn't want to waste food so I'd still eat it. The manager was very apologetic and despite me insisting on not getting my order remade.. he came out with a plate of seared rare ahi tuna... We ordered 4 fish tacos today, the tacos were completely uncooked, with minimal fish in the taco, loaded with onoins....the taco (since it was frozen and then hastily assembled) broke down while trying to pick up the taco and also the cook who does a very lousy job (short hispanic girl) stacked them in 1 plate totally crushing them. Useless waste of money, this place is slowly losing customers for a reason. Even after 2 years, they have to put out a "Now Open" sign on the street, that explains why. Their food is bland, tasteless and hastily cooked. Go elsewhere for spending your hard earned money. That cook I wrote about, should be fired for incompetence. After I conveyed feedback to the kitchen via the server, the cook laughed it off ! I've ordered takeout from the Evergreen California Fish Grill six times. I'm generally satisfied with the overall quality of the food and service. However, what irritates me very much is that they always under fill the bean containers. They are always only one-half to one-third full. The container is already small and to skimp on filling it is ridiculous. C'mon beans are cheap! I spend $70 on three meals and you can't even fill a small cup with beans. I'm going to take my business elsewhere if you keep cheating on your servings. read more
