Not only was the food great but my bartender I sat in the bar. His name is Tim or Timothy. He made an amazing rendition of a Michelada and the food was pretty good too. We've been here many times in the past and, though we enjoy the lunch specials, the service is often slow, the staffing inadequate, and the overall organization lacking. Today was the same experience as some earlier disappointments, with the added fact that pretty much all of the baseline hallmarks of a good restaurant experience were missed from the very minute we walked in the door. The greeter at the entrance never said a word to us, never welcomed us, never asked how many were in our party, never even made eye contact - just grabbed two menus and walked away, assuming we would follow her. Once seated, our waitperson came by and took our orders, came back with the waters, and then disappeared for 15 minutes - no water refills, no sign of the chips and salsa appetizer we ordered, nothing. Finally, the soups arrived, delivered by a fellow who clearly wasn't familiar with waiting tables as he simply dropped off the bowls and took off - no crackers, no water refills, no asking if we needed anything. I finally hailed our waitperson for crackers and water, which took five minutes more to arrive. While the water was being poured, the guy who brought the soups finally brought the chips and salsa on a hot aluminum pan, along with the salads in bowls - everything all at once. The food itself was ok - the chili was tasty if a bit thin, the salsa standard grade, the chips (served warm) ok, the salads actually pretty good - but between the no-greeting greeter, the not-much-service server, and the appetizer that arrived 20 minutes late, it wasn't a good experience. Oh, and the two pizouki deserts that were part of the lunch deal were served by a *third* server. Just strange. Whether it was a particularly off day or they were way understaffed or the greeter is just not into actually greeting people or everyone who works here just really doesn't care all that much, I don't know. But what I do know is that I'm not likely to return anytime soon. read more

The pizookie trio was amazing, especially to share between two people. My husband was able to Get his Oreo fix while I got my salted caramel pizookie. You'll be paying $$$ for less than mediocre food. One time the boneless wings came out dry and barely chewable. The server was nice enough to take it off a bill. This last time, the food took forever to come out and then the brussel sprouts came out burned. I like them charred but they were black through and through (see photo). I didn't even bother sending them back. Couldn't taste the "honey sriracha" at all. The servers were great both times we ate here. No fault goes to them. My friend and I came here today after the Tacoma Holiday Festival. We got the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and even though they might seem expensive they give you about 9-12 of them. Super delicious. She got the smokehouse burger and it was big, hot and had lots of crispy onions. I got the BJs kicking chicken sandwich. It was so great! Hot, the slaw and spicy sauce were wonderful. We got two non alcoholic drinks, she got the strawberry dream and I got this boba mango spritzer. The service was fast and plenty of seating. Good service is hard to come by anymore. But Jade, our server, did not miss a beat! We were a party of three that she managed alongside a party of about 15, in addition to a couple other tables. Typically when we encounter a server at any restaurant that has a big party we tend to feel forgotten. Not Jade, she was super attentive. I must start off by saying our server Natashia was the star of the night. I initially booked for a party of 12 for a surprise birthday party for my niece's 30th birthday. That swelled to 18 people and she served us with such a great attitude. All while handling other tables because a couple of other servers called out. She was initially only assigned to our table, but had to juggle other tables after the call-outs. And her attitude was great. The food was a bit slow, but that wasn't her fault. It was hot when we were served so it wasn't that she wasn't picking the food up timely. It made for such a great night. I can't say enough good things about her. I tipped her generously on top of the 18% gratuity for such a large party, and she deserved every penny. So on to the other aspects. The location has a good amount of parking even with it being at the mall. You may walk a little bit, but not that far. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that you can sit outside after eating or walk the mall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is good. I recommend the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Chardonnay Butter Sauce and sun-dried tomatoes. You may need extra sauce. I usually do. They only serve Pepsi products, and I'm a Coke fan. We ate here for lunch today. We waited closed to ten minutes to be greeted. Ordered drinks, apps and food all at once. We received our iced teas pretty much the same time as our salad. Then our entrees arrived. I finished my iced tea and salad. I was never offered a refill and the server didn't take any of our dirty dishes at any point. She came by and I pointed out our appetizer didn't show up. So then it came out and it clearly had been sitting in the warmer window for who knows how long. Then our server was sat like a 40 person group and we never saw her again. The reason I think this is important to note is was obvious our server had too many tables and they continued to seat her ultimately ending in all of her tables getting bad service. The food was mediocre and I decided my soup bowl was overpriced after I got it. Initially the price for a bowl and bread seemed fine. You pay an extra couple dollars to put the soup in a bread bowl but then the amount is definitely about a cup of soup size. read more

Came here on Sunday, right before the lunch rush. The food is typical BJs. I was happy to get my root beer wings and they were tasty. Sis got her ahi poke tacos and of course it was delicious. Mom got avocado egg rolls and it's pretty much avocado shoved into an egg roll wrapper. I hated it, but I don't like avocado as a main ingredient and they got a weird, not so crispy egg roll wrapper around it. Dad got salmon and my bro and his wife got steaks. Anyway, we all liked what we ordered, but that's not why I'm giving this place 5 stars. This place is getting those stars because of our server Brooke. She was THE BEST! She's casual but confident and the way she talks to you, you know that she cares about the guest experience. When she walked away from the table, the ladies at the table all whispered to each other how much we liked her. She just seemed so authentic. We paid our bill on their website and it was only then that we realized we missed our opportunity to rate Brooke. She would've got 10 stars if they let us rate that high. Went here and sat at the bar since they were so busy at 1:30 on a Monday, didn't want to wait and Cheesecake Factory had a wait of 40 minutes. Our server was slow but again it was busy. Nice enough guy, ordered some beers and placed our order. The food was not bad. I got the appetizer of BBQ Tri Tip Sliders with fries, my daughter the Bacon-Guacamole Deluxe Burger hold the tomato. We had horrendous service yesterday when dining in with my family. It was incident after incident. We came in and at first everything seemed fine. But then they brought out my mother in laws salad, they hadn't brought us any silverware or napkins yet. She had to wait and wait until about five minutes passed and she asked someone for it. They brought only ONE set of silverware for her, still none for the other 4 guests. Then our food comes out, and we still don't have silverware. I ask again, for silverware. Also we've been here about 20 minutes now and my mother in law had ordered a lemon drop martini and it wasn't out yet. My daughter noticed she asked for cheese on her burgers and so we flagged someone down again. They finally brought me a pair of silverware and then started to put one down in front of my other daughter and then proceeded to take it away and leave again ... And then when we told them our other daughters food didn't have cheese the waitress said "do you want me to just bring out some cheese for them? Or did you actually need us to remake them?" We asked her to remake them as that sounded absurd to bring out cold cheese to put on her burgers. She seemed annoyed. They took her whole plate so now she was left with no food instead of leaving her with fries at least to munch on. So she proceeded to sit for another ten minutes as everyone else ate and she, a kid didn't have any food. My mother in law also said to just cancel the lemon drop as it was taking too long, and after she cancelled it, it finally came a few minutes later. They finally brought out my daughters new food and never brought out silverware for my other daughter. I just had to share with her finally as we gave up. The service was absolutely horrible. I have managed multiple food establishments in my career, and you always know that kids need their food the most and fastest. To leave her without food for ten minutes was not a great choice. We had lunch at BJ's in Tacoma. The service was great. Our server was Asia. We each ordered a salad, crispy chicken and SW chicken salad. Both were mainly iceberg lettuce and nothing else. Both did have chicken. Neither salad had any flavor nor did the dressings. We also ordered boneless dry rubbed chicken wings which were good. Not sure we will be going back. read more
