Ordered take out on their Rueben and Cod n Chips for dinner. First time customer. My Rueben for a $20 meal was marginal. It wasn't tasty and very skimpy on the corn beef. The bread was a little overcooked. Cod n Chips was not the best choice either. The crust was soggy and the fries were not freshly cooked. My bill was $45 including tax. Maybe it's not a take out type of eatery. Service was okay, no appreciation on our purchase. Ambiance was great though it was empty when I stopped by for my takeout. I stopped by on Thursday evening about 7:30 pm. I was thinking about fish and chips. I was seated fairly away from the ear splitting din of a trivia game. I started reading a magazine while waiting and finished two or three article before my waitress showed up. She apologized for not knowing that I had been seated. I ordered. The fish should have been termed 'shell' fish as the breading had been fried to a dark chestnut brown and hard as shell. The cod filets were decent sized and might have been cooked properly and tasty in a better place. The fries were something else. They came out in a metal cup. Odd .. I thought. But .. as I discovered necessary. They were all bits and pieces, mostly an inch long and under. I counted maybe six fries that were 2 inches long. Most of them had significant peel on them. I like fries with peel on them but, not to that extent .. and looking like maybe I had gotten the bottom of the bag scraps. I ate what could, and then waited for my server. She was no where to be found. I finished a couple more articles and contemplated dashing. No one seemed to be interested at all. I went on a search and found her sweeping up in the kitchen. I asked to pay up and she didn't offer any apology or excuse as to being around. The complete indifference to decent food and service was kind of galling.? Husband and I visited here for breakfast and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Steak & Eggs, the Pancake Breakfast, and a side of bacon. It was absolutely delicious. The hash browns are more like breakfast potatoes and just stocked full of flavor. Our waitress, Andrea T, was fantastic. Super friendly and made sure our drinks were always filled and everything to our liking. Big kudos to the kitchen for putting out exemplary products! We ate here today and I got a Cali chick sandwich and the chicken was still pink and I notice after taking a couple of bites. I told my server and she said they can make me a new one and that it wouldn't be long.... It took way longer than when she first brought out both my husband and my food out. Then she handed it to me and I said "sorry there is cheese on this and I am allergic to cheese remember I asked for no cheese on my first one." She looked at me and said "I think it's a different cook." Never apologized or tried to make it right only placed the blame on the cook. She didn't offer to make a new one or compt It or anything. I told her I guess I don't get to eat. Then she walked away and took away to bring us our check so we went up to the front to cash out. What is up with the customer service here.... I've been to Oddfellas many times and I keep coming back because: 1. The staff are great. 2. They have an enormous selection of rotating beer and cider. 3. It's mellow and very nice inside. 4. It's near my house. My biggest complaint is that I really can't eat much here. They have very few vegetarian options and so I'm kind of just left with the one quite boring veggie wrap or an appetizer. I did try the spinach dip today and it was really good. My only complaint is that the little pieces of bread were covered in butter, which I thought was totally unnecessary. The dip itself is already very rich. I ended up bringing it home and using my own crackers and chips. Add a few GOOD and reasonably healthy vegetarian items and my whole family would be there often! read more

I enjoyed the Oddfellas experience, but probably won't make a point to visit again. I love the decor. In the bar, their cute logo adorns the backs of tall wooden chairs that made my wife feel like a dwarf, and there are long tables that make me wish I had 15 friends to share one with. There are, as is too often the case, TVs all along the walls, but they're fortunately out of the way enough that they aren't too distracting. The menu is a lot of fun -- plenty of unique American style choices that cause some indecision. I went with the Spicy Swine sandwich, which was extremely heavy on the mustard. If I could do it again, I'd probably try the Schnitzel Sandy. I was surprised by the lack of color in the fries. They were practically white, but they had a great crunch and the Poutine Your Mouth appetizer was an excellent showcase for them. Despite Oddfellas being a hip new bar, there were plenty of elderly people ambling in and out, suggesting the restaurant has a wide appeal. It's good to see a place like this opening up on Pearl. A group of us went a couple months after opening. It was awful food. Everything seemed to be microwaved.

Been here a few times that were pretty decent. Came in on Sunday for lunch, pretty slow. We ordered the steak and burger both of which came with mashed potatoes. Steak was order well done but came out as probably one of the bloodiest steaks I ever had, the burger was quite undercooked as well. The mashed potatoes were bad either but you couldn't taste much past all the black pepper that was mixed into it. But at least that had more flavor than the steak did, which tasted like the only seasoning put on it was butter. Will probably try again in the future. read more

In terms of environment, staff, and food, I had a nearly 5 star experience tonight. however, my partner and I had to leave our party early due to her eating an ice cream cake we were served with almond shavings on it that were not notated on the menu. we didn't notice until after we had taken a few bites, and we could not risk staying due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of tree nut allergies. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous that such an important allergen was not noted on the menu. I'm happy to say that the manager and the staff handled the situation as well as they could have, and they even took the cake off my tab, which was a nice gesture. She is alright, and luckily has not gone into anaphylactic shock. But there's a world in which she would have. I simply hope this review will guarantee the menus will be updated, so nobody eating here will have to go through the same experience we did. read more

During the covid 19 crazy, we have made it a point to use delivery to help the local restaurants. Eating out. I am horrified at what I was served. I ordered chili. I'm pretty sure it's old, probably several days, it's a solid gelatinous mass and smells burnt, 20 bucks it was microwaved. You should be on your A game. Trying to make a profit and keeping the doors open. What slop I was sent was not eatable. Somethings I can understand, but what you sent me Isinexcusable. The wings are over breaded, Reuben sandwich would have been ok if not for smoked corned beef, and side dinner salad was similar to being poured out of a bag with bland blue cheese. Where to start. We walked in an noticed the crowd was very "up there" in age. Sort of like a retirement home cafeteria. We even joked that maybe it should be called Old Fella's. Definitely not fresh, or even decent quality frozen. My wife's veggie wrap was also unseasoned. It was supposed to be tossed in a dressing, but it wasn't. She had to request dressing. And the cheese was grated cheese. We sat in the nearly empty bar and the service was very slow. The Bloody Mary's were good, but rather small served in a mason jar mug. If you're looking for quiet and ambiance this isn't the place. It's a pub and makes no bones about that's what it is. At 5:30 there was a waiting list for the dining area but plenty of space at the bar so that's where we sat. They do have community tables but we preferred not to since we'd just gotten off work and didn't want to be all that communicative. Sunday is happy hour 1- to closing and they did have some decent offerings but since we couldn't figure out what to share we each ordered our own. Large portions but not totally overwhelming. I had a WTF taco which stands for what the fish in case you care. Really yummy in a tortilla and a choice of sides. As far as I'm concerned there is only once choice, tater tots, but I could have had fries or cole slaw. The hubs had a sandwich that had three types of meet and he got cole slaw thinking it was healthier, ha. Mayo has never been healthy. Both sandwiches were really good. He had tea but I had several glasses of wine. The second one the bartender gave me a really generous pour. We plan on going back for one of the happy hours and trying some of their appetizers. Our dinner even with two glasses of wine was $40 plus which is totally affordable. read more

I had the Reuben sandwich which consisted of overly cooked meat dry corned beef and very little cheese. I asked for light sauerkraut and that set was ok. Husband had the German sausage sandwich which he said was too messy to really enjoy. The French fries and tater tots were ok but not super hot the way that we like them. So happy that there is a great bar in this area now! They have an excellent rotating beer selection on tap including a lot local beers. Ive been a few times now and can definitely say it's worth checking them out. The staff and service has always been fast and super friendly. Food is delicious and they been have posting some fun daily specials on Facebook. I ordered a Big Ass Pretzel and seriously that beer cheese is phenomenal wish it was always available. We were super excited to try this place since it's right up the street from our house. Sadly it didn't live up to expectations. The service was fantastic but the food was mediocre to put it nicely. I ordered the poutine and it was definitely subpar. The gravy looked like jelly and the cheese curds were in globs everywhere. My husband ordered the bump and grinder and was also disappointed. The onion on his sandwich was diced (which was strange) and the tomatoes were soggy like they were going bad. We thought maybe this might be a better bar than restaurant. Definitely not worth the $30 we spent on dinner but like I said, the service was outstanding which says something even if the food didn't. read more
