I gave BJ's a three star review because I had "The California Chicken Club sandwich" was pretty salty and got pretty tired of the taste pretty fast which I could have gotten something else. The service though that we had was very great and were very nice and helpful. The desert was very delicious. I had a chocolate chunk pizookie which is a warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream over it and it was very good. I recommend you try it. Never ate at a BJ's before. Was visiting friends in Ohio and they took me here. I was pleased with the Tri Tip Wedge salad. Friends ordered steak and shrimp, which also looked extremely good. I felt invisible at this restaurant. My group of 5 arrived all together 5 minutes before our reservation started. We told them our name and they told us to have a seat and said nothing else. Our little kids started getting restless and running around and suddenly the host said, "oh you're together? We thought you were waiting for the rest of your party." So after waiting 10 minutes, we were taken to our table. We waited there for 15 minutes until my husband finally walked to the host stand to ask if we had been assigned a server. They said they would send someone over. 5 minutes later, we finally had a server. By then 30 minutes had gone by since we had arrived and everyone was hungry and irritable and the kids were getting under the table getting dirty on the sticky floor underneath. We were in the far corner of the restaurant, very far from the kitchen so I'm guessing at least partly because of that it took 10+ minutes to get drinks and a water refill later in the evening. The kids wanted dessert but with how long the eventing took, we had to skip it. The server did take our appetizers off the bill in an effort to make up for the half hour of being ignored. Being new to town, I was super excited to see they had BJ's here. Grew up in a town that had one and always loved it but moved somewhere for 11 years where there was none so I was happy to see it here! And that's basically where the happiness stops. IMO outside of a resaurant being slammed, unless you're sitting at a table chatting it up with a group of people or drinking alcohol and just casually eating, there is never a reason it should take 2 hours for 4 to dine at a chain restaurant. The first 15 minutes I will give to us being indecisive on what we were ordering but after that it was just constantly looking at our watches or for our server. Our server was pleasant and helpful and perhaps she got sat too many tables at once so at first her speed wasn't much of an issue but as we watched people who came after us get their food and leave while we were still waiting for parts of our orders just wasn't ok. A lady came in after us, ordered 2 things to go and a pazookie, ate half of her food and the whole pazookie then complained and got her whole meal comped. Meanwhile we're still waiting on our food. My daughter ordered Mac and cheese and I don't know what went wrong there but it was so dry the noodles were repelling off of each other. She ended up asking for chicken strips instead but had to wait quite a while before her food came and of course by then the rest of us were already done eating. Nothing was comped from our meal, which is fine but I did think it was strange that the other lady got her whole check comped for what appeared to be a burger that was cooked wrong, that she still ate half of and took her leftovers home?? The food wasn't bad but we were so hungry by the time it finally came I don't think anyone cared as much about flavor, outside of the bone dry Mac and cheese. I was prepared to be disappointed, knowing it was a chain and reading a few of the other reviews. And: I wasn't. Low expectations? Maybe. But it was a good experience. The service was very good. The place is pretty nice. I tried the root beer first, and it wasn't bad. Not great, but pretty good: a mellow blend of herbal and sweet, not too carbonated or overly sweet. Next I had a flight of beers. There doesn't seem to be any sort of sampler on the menu, but you can get 4 good-size beakers of whatever you want. I tried the Hefeweizen, red ale, "Abbey Normal," and porter. All were good, not great. I particularly liked the red and the abbey-style. Lots of good stuff on the menu, but I didn't want to go overboard. Tried the fried artichokes and the avocado egg rolls. The artichokes were really good, and came with a ranchy dipping sauce. The egg rolls were also good, with large fresh chunks of avocado and a blend of other ingredients. Don't know if I'll be back soon, but that's not because it's bad- just that there are so many better places out there. Plus, I'll admit, I was a bit disappointed in the root beer. I don't feel like cooking so I decided to get takeout yesterday night. BJs is located near the title mom which is very convenient and that was next to the mall it's on the outside closer to the street therefore parking is private but limited. It was hard to find a parking spot and even harder to get out of the parking spot when I left. I decided to order takeout because my wife and I didn't feel like eating in. Good thing about this place is they do have their own separate take out insurance. You don't have to wait in line with the other people were waiting to be seated and you don't have to wait behind others when you can get your takeout and go. I placed an order for a soup and salad, a wedge salad, and the sliders and fries combo. I ordered online which was super super convenient. I absolutely love their website is very comprehensive easy to use and there was my first time I didn't feel like I had any trouble ordering. I placed an order for 9:30 PM. When I arrived at 9:30, my food was packed and ready to go and hot. I had no issues with checking out checking my order and the staff was fairly attentive. When I approached the counter there was one man standing there who didn't say anything to me but appeared to be looking around for the person who supposed to be cashing people out at the takeout area. Soon after another guy came out but again nothing happened. After about four minutes of standing there somebody told me that one person will be out to help me. A woman then approached with my food, bagged it up and was super super friendly and helpful. I asked her how long my food had been waiting before I got there and she said that it was super fresh and they didn't even have to put in the warmer so it was the freshest it could be. Awesome sauce! My food came up to a little under 30 bucks which is a pretty good deal given we had two meals. When I got home my BLT salad was freaking awesome. They definitely don't skimp on the portions and the flavor was on point. The fries were pretty good and seasoned well. We did have a problem though. My chicken tortilla soup was so so so salty. I thought it was just me so I had my wife taste it and she absolutely loves art and she even said it was salty. It only came with a few pieces of chicken which was disappointing too. The slightest look super good we ordered it with extra bacon and pepper jack cheese. However, they weren't done and they were really red inside. I called to speak to a manager but I was put on hold so long that I ended up hanging up. I called this morning the next day, and a woman named Natalie was very understanding and offered to send me a gift card. Managed to eat a few bites of my steak before giving up and leaving. Everything was over cooked and dry. Or looked like it was cooked last week!! I have been here a couple times now. So, my review is an overall review. This location is one of many for the BJ's chain. This one is located in the Tuttle Mall's parking lot. A fair amount of parking spaces, particularly on the west side of the restaurant. A bit tricky to get out of when working against the mall traffic. Same open, contemporary interior as other locations. There is an outdoor patio that butts up against their parking spaces and nice for when the weather is good. The service has always been prompt, friendly, helpful and professional. They have quite a large menu that offers most ever type of entree that an American style restaurant would offer. Prices are reasonably competitive. The menu itself can be a bit daunting, particularly if you have never been to a BJ's before. Servers are good with recommending choices when you have something in mind. I have been particularly found of their entree salads like their BBQ chicken chopped salad or their enlightened kale & brussels sprout salad. My most recent visit I ordered their classic rib-eye steak with steamed broccoli and roasted golden beets. Okay, this place is not a steak house. The rib-eye was tough, had gristle and fat. It was not as good of a slice of beef as it should have been. As for the broccoli, it was more raw than steamed. Now, the roasted golden beets was flavorful and excellent! Definitely would recommend it, but comes as a premium side with an up-charge. Bottom line, I will go to a steak house next time I feel like have a steak. While there, I downloaded their app to my mobile phone thinking I should start accumulating points for their rewards program. When you first download the app, you get a free pizookie. What's a pizookie? Same question I asked ... it's like a warm cookie in a pan a bit larger than those no-bake oven tins your sister got for Christmas with a scoop of ice cream on top. Probably not a place I will ever visit again. We stood at the front door a few minutes after they opened but it appeared that they were not ready to open. A few of them walked by and didn't help. We finally got seated And then waited ten minutes for our server. The food was a range of meh to really bad. I had the Ahi tuna salad, which was bagged mix greens with a minuscule amount of dressing. Everything about it screamed six dollars but it was $20. My wifes burger was a bit past well done. No temp request was made by the server so I am to assume that burnt is their only temp. The other dish we ordered was the shrimp and pasta but we were dismayed that the shrimp was tossed in the pasta with their tales on. So we had to pull the shrimp out of the cream sauce to be able to eat them. Rule of thumb to the "chef:" tales on if it's a cocktail. Tails off if you toss them in sauce. Bj's is a solid restaurant with a large menu with a vibe similar to cheesecake factory. We came for dinner on a Friday evening and were seated almost immediately. Our server was fantastic. She made sure we were doing fine without being overly vigilant and was very kind and efficient. As for the food, we ordered the cheesecurds, the southern comfort chicken sandwich and the Peruvian quinoa bowl with shrimp. The cheesecurds were great but too salty. The chicken sandwich was a little disappointing; it was good but just not as good as I was hoping. The quinoa bowl was delicious. For dessert we got the pazookie trio with the chocolate chunk, monkey bread and Ghirardelli triple chocolate. All three were amazing but I definitely recommend the chocolate chunk, it's exceptional. I had one their power bowls with grilled chicken and it had everything in that I could ask for! My girlfriend ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and the burger came out just as she had asked for. It was also free Pazooke night and let me tell you, they are always fantastic! One thing that did annoy me was that whenever the front doors were opened, it sent a blast of cold air through the front area where we were seated. Visited with some family in April 2018. There was at least a 45 minute wait before we were seated and we were told it would be less time. Manager did come around with some pizza for everyone waiting so it was nice to know that they were aware of the situation. Once seated our experience was great! I ordered their in house cream soda and it was excellent. My family had warned us about the pizookies, so I ate a light dinner with chicken tortilla soup (it has avocado in it) and the mac and cheese couscous. Both were really good and flavorful, as well as being outside of what I would normally choose. Honestly the highlight of the meal was the pizookies. There were 4 of us, so we ordered 2 of the mini pizookies, which meant we had 6 small ones to share. We got one cookies and cream, one double chocolate, one peanut butter with chocolate ice cream, 2 monkey bread, and one salted caramel. They were so good. I have been going to BJ's Brewhouse for years and I've never had a bad food experience. Their menu selection is huge so anyone could eat here. The Tuttle Mall location does have a smaller parking lot so it may be packed depending on what time in the day you come. They have parking across the street in the mall parking lot. You can make reservations as well and you also don't have wait until your whole party is there to be seated. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Wow!!! This place has done a complete 180 in my book! After not coming here for over a year, we decided to give it another shot...and I'm so glad we did! We signed up online using the waitlist and were seating pretty quick when we got there. Our waitress was extremely friendly and recommended a blended beer which we both loved. It was a mixture of their Jeremiah Red beer with Angry Orchard Cider. Delicious! We got the Wisconsin cheese curbs which were hot and delicious! For our entrees, we got the pulled pork sandwich which was very flavorful, hot and tender. The sauce on the side was great included ranch and BBQ sauce. Their fries were also crispy and fresh! For dessert we got the S'mores Pizooki which I honestly don't have any words for because it was so good!! If you like pizza, you should try BJ's pizza. It's deep dish and loaded with toppings. They have lots of different pizzas to choose from as well as many other delicious meals. We had a large group and everybody ordered something different. Everybody was happy with the service and the taste of the meal. I ordered the CHICKEN BACON RANCH PIADINA - Filled with seasoned, grilled chicken, smoked bacon, ranch, tomatoes and BJ's signature five cheese blend. With ranch for dipping. I added a bowl of Piranha Pale Ale Chili, and to drink I ordered the BJ'S ROOT BEER. There were several different flavors to choose from and since refills were free (which was really nice as I have had to pay per glass at other restaurants) my next drink was the BJ'S BLACK CHERRY SODA. So let me just start this by saying that we've been to this BJ's before and had always had a good experience. Today, however, was extremely disappointing. We were seated quickly on the patio by our request since it was 75 degrees and sunny. We looked through the extensive menu and decided we wanted nachos as an appetizer (nachos aren't an actual menu item but they can make it on request since they have all the ingredients to). They came pretty quickly, though there was a bit of a mix-up when the nacho flatbread came instead of actual nachos. This was understandable because, as I mentioned, nachos aren't an actual menu item. Anyways, the nachos (when they came) had little taste and were not very appetizing at all. They were OK except for the chili sauce, if you could call it that, which drenched all of the chips. The sauce had no spice, or taste for that matter, to it. After we ate some of the chips because we were pretty hungry, we had to return them. Our server was very nice and apologetic about it. My dad's chicken tortilla soup (which I tried) was the definition of so-so. It tasted pretty good but was lukewarm which made it unappetizing. I got the "enlightened" Mediterranean chicken tacos and they were disappointing to say the least: just lacking flavor overall. The grains that came on the side were even more flavorless than the tacos. And I agree with another review which highlights the ridiculous cost of the food, because my pretty small, devoid-of-flavor tacos were around $10.75. That's pretty ridiculous. By and large, BJ's has let me down. I'm not sure if this was an abnormality, or if they're changing for the worst. But one things for sure- I won't be rushing back. read more

I am a huge fan of BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse. As someone who eats gluten free, I feel as if this is always a good choice for me. The service is always excellent, the drinks are great, and the gluten free pizza and cookie are fantastic. The only complaint I have about this place? They don't have green olives as a pizza topping. Utter disappointment. Four of our meals came out and the server forgot about the fifth person. Before waiting for the last meal to arrive, we awkwardly began eating at the request of the person without food. Almost 10 minutes later, we finally got the server's attention to get the rest of the food. Each of the dishes came out cold the first time for the four of us. Only two of us said to please bring warm food and was sent back. Waiting for the new food to come, the fifth person finally received her food and the steak was not cooked as ordered. The temperature of the steak was wrong and reversed for two of us and the two swapped their already eaten steaks from their plates. Finally the returned food came back, ribs for one were good and the other steak was overcooked, not made to the desired order and was bad. Overall, the food, dining experience, poor service and disregard from the server and manager was beyond unacceptable. Everyone ate at different times, one meal never eaten, another sent back, and two others couldn't stomach to finish theirs. 2 hours later we left completely unsatisfied. Never again BJ's! There are too many other options in Columbus than this. And most which are way more cost effective. read more
