Yummy food! This just opened in Tyler so there is still a bit of a wait. We started out with chips and salsa. (wasn't too impressed, since we live in texmex country). We waited a bit for our food and the manager brought it out and told us since we waited a while we get free dessert.. Score! I didn't even think it had been that long! I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and onion strings. It had two chicken fried steaks on it. Huge meal, the gravy was fantastic and tasted like they use real cream. My hubby ordered balsamic chicken on a field of greens with onion strings. I don't even like balsamic and I loved this meal! His had two chicken breast and mashed potatoes with white cheddar in it. So we both have enough food for a second meal. Mine cost $10, his $12. So if you consider that will feed us twice it's not too bad. They are definitely big enough to share!! Sit down, order dinner, a few beers and wait for MLB ALL-STAR game to start. Ask manager to turn on the sound once the game begins. He tells me he's not allowed, the powers to be only allow sound during "events like the Super Bowl". I laugh, ask him what he thinks the MLB ALL-STAR game is, and he justs shrugs. Clearly, just an assistant manager since he has no power (or balls). I leave and get to new bar. (Buffalo Wild Wings). Pull out receipt from BJ's and laugh my ass off. "Come out and watch MLB games in HD on multiple screens" just don't ask to HEAR them. BJ's just opened two new locations in Austin where I live. They will not be seeing me again. Bjs is pretty hit or miss for me. Its never bad, but never spectacular either. Beer selection is amazing and the bar doesn't disappoint. The menu is insane and huge. Its overwhelming and difficult to peruse. If you ever find something you LOVE, it will be gone from the menu next time you go. Pazookies are pretty darn good, they should bring back the smores one, oh and the pizza dip!! Service is generally slow so be prepared to spend some time here. Sitting in the bar doesn't remedy this. Food is good. Drinks (of the spirited sorts) are inconsistently made. Service is slow and pretty rough. If the service was better and more consistent we would frequent BJs more often. The pazookies are the bomb but not worth the shady service. The last two times we were there, we found long hairs in one of our dishes. We also ended up sitting our booths for over 2 hours both times due to the slow service. We used to frequent the BJs in Cedar Park a lot and they were great. Here, not so much. read more

Man! I really want to upgrade the star rating but I can't. The place has an atmosphere that makes me want to come back. And I will but, the service was not good. I had 3 beers and the first 2 went dry long before I got a refill. If I had Diet Coke, those were refilled immediately. But this is a 'brew' house. Beer is supposed to flow, right? Been here twice, once in the bar and once with my boyfriend as a date and because I wanted to give the place a second chance. Both times I sat not greeted by anyone for at least 10 minutes with a manager who looked at me and kept walking. Praise the Lord that Tyler has a BJ's. I have to go to Tyler every month or two for work and I almost always end up at the bar here for happy hour and dinner. I always get great service and the bartender(I wish I remembered her name) always remembers what I like to drink even if it's been a few months since my last visit. I would imagine they have one of the best beer selections in the area and during happy hour all drafts are $1 off. They also have appetizer and mini-pizzas at a discount during happy hour as well. read more

I got the Portobello & Swiss Burger All-Vegetarian Version, which is both vegetarian-friendly & delicious. I would get that one again. They also have an app for this place where you can keep track of any deals, & rack up points for every dollar spent on the food (not including alcoholic beverages or tips), & you can get a discount after you reach 100 points. The best part of our experience was our server Robin. He was very professional and didn't skip any steps pr try to cut any corners. We'll be asking for him at our next visit. I came here with my friends after a long day, and started off with a BJs Rootbeer and it was delicious and refreshing. We ordered the starter sampler, and the Avocado egg rolls were to die for. For my entree, I ordered the cheese and tomato pizza, and every ingredient worked so well together. I also got the lentil and ancient grain soup, which was an excellent vegan option. For dessert we ordered the monkey bread pizookie. When I say that that monkey bread was good, I really and truly mean it. I'm really looking forward to our next trip to BJ's. read more

The service was really slow, took a long time to get the food and even had to wait a long time to pay. The meat on both burgers we ordered had no seasoning and lacked any flavor. The only thing that was good were the fries. One burger order was completely wrong, but since we had to wait so long for the food, I didn't want to send it back. I eat at BJs a lot. Tonight chicken in lemon thyme dish so salty almost inedible. The Peruvian quinoa bowl so overwhelmed by lemon juice that could taste nothing else in the dish. Ordered dessert which was brought to table mostly melted and blamed on kitchen staff after prolonged wait. Manager said same as waitress. Overall, worst experience at a BJs anywhere and it wasn't even busy. read more

Ate dinner here last night. It was awesome! I love that they have lighter entrees for those of us watching our calories and regular great stuff for everybody else. I have only had one experience at this restaurant when I was not pleased about a year ago and when I spoke with the manager he was quick to make it right as best he could. I returned several times since then. My family and I love this place. This is a good quality restaurant with great food, employees etc... The manager is great. Great beer, awesome food, always get what I order as ordered. Order the bison burger or the salmon, the pizza is phenomenal. My kids love it too! No complaints. Give it a try. read more

I like their new menu additions. I met a friend and his wife here the other night for dinner and drinks. I had their deep dish meatlovers pizza. Nice crust, loaded with toppings. And I had plenty to carry home. My friend's wife had the shrimp jambalaya which she said was good but a little spicy. Oooo, just like I like it!! And my friend had the new Angus Chicken Fried Steak. Ample two patty serving, and it was meat to the end of the crust, not foolery with a 1/2" or more of empty crust. looked good. Our drinks were good, she had margaritas, he had Oktoberfest, and I had Oktoberfest and Tatonka. The Oktoberfest was good and hoppy with ample carbonation and the Tatonka was thick and rich. Ummm, ummm. The only problem that night was that BJ's staff violated the Texas Dram laws and grossly overserved us. The next afternoon, I was back in Tyler and nursing a severe "headache" and "sour stomach." Remembering my friend's CFS, I thought, "That is just what I need." And it was. The double patty was filling, and the meat inside was tender. The crust could have been seasoned a bit more, but there was salt and pepper on the table. And the cream gravy was very good. Only complaint was that the mixed vegetables were frozen, but I didn't come back for the mixed vegetables. And no beer this time!!! But all in all, very good visits. I took my wife and my daughter to bj's for lunch and we waited a good 15-30 minutes for our waitress to come and take our drink order and our starter, our daughters order. Then about 10 -15 minutes toget our drinks and another to get our appetizer and 10-15 to get our daughter plate. Another 45 minutes until we got our plates and as soon as we started to eat we realized the food was under cooked and cold. As we tried to get our waitress attention to get service she just flat out refuse to come to us. As I was talking to the manager on shift then she started to pay attention to us. We paid for the drinks, appetizers, our daughter food. I will be telling everyone that bj's is not the place to go to eat due to the lack of waitress attention to the tables and stone cold food. Plus there was less the 12-15 tables so there's no reason for this to happen to anyone. read more

Had a 13 top table on a Saturday afternoon. Our waitress was excellent (great job Jenna) and all of our food came out as ordered. And it came out very fast for a table that size - less than half an hour wait. Always had refilled drinks. Awesome service for such a big group. read more

My Friends and I went here for our friends 26th birthday. We were going to get food and some drinks. Our waitress right off the bat was so rude to us. The birthday girl had a question about the pizookie deal they have for birthdays and immediately there was major sass from the waitress. When my friend ordered a drink he got carded. He is from Florida and so they had to check it. The manager came back to us and was EXTREMELY rude. He accused my friend of having a fake Id because the manager had never seen a Florida id. After they then accused all of us of having fake ids and said they could not serve us drinks. The majority of our table already ordered drinks and the drinks where being brought out to us. There was a lot of miscommunication with the staff. And I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. They didn't even let us talk to them. They wouldn't even come back to our table for us to get our tickets for the food we ordered. We had to get up and find our waitress. I asked her why she treated us so poorly and she started yelling at me. I apologized for anything we may have done and we left. Again, we were treated so bad. Thankfully we already had an awesome day for my friends birthday so it only put a minor damper on our moods. read more

Awful. We waited over an hour for our food & when the food came out almost everyone's order was messed up. By the time they FINALLY got the food right, everything was cold & dry. They gave one person in our party 3 end pieces of salmon for a "whole salmon dish". Save yourself a disappointing meal that costs way too much & go somewhere else to eat. read more

BJ's does two things great. First, is their beer selection - they have a large selection of beers you can't get anywhere else (micro-brews) and have hands down the best selection of eclectic imports in the Tyler area. If I could give zero stars I would. Ended up leaving because we sat at our table for 20 mins and not a single waiter came to even take our drinks . Just placed an order to go and when i got to the store it was not in there system yet so im confused of whats the use in placing an order online if its faster to order in store and have your order placed immediately. I ordered a pazzokie and it was raw inside and i had to correct the server on the price because tuesdays are suppose to be $3 pazzokie days and yet i was being charged full price. I am so disappointed. The only reason i am giving a 1 star is because the girl who helped me was very apologetic and nice. Terribly run place that's atypical of a BJs Restaurant. This is the second time that I have run into this problem. After sitting for 10 minutes without anyone bothering to take our drink order, we walked out. I attempted to call the manager and was routed to someone else first. The host staff were very young and either haven't been trained or don't care about customer service. The manager apologized and offered me a gift card but I refused. I just wanted them to be aware of their lack of training or care less attitude. There are plenty of other restaurants in the Tyler area to go to, which is what we did. read more
