Smallest deep dish Pepperoni Extreme Pizza - Large
    Jenee S.

This is the second time in a row at this location our food wasn't good. The large signature deep dish pepperoni extreme was anything but deep dish. It looked more like a flatbread or regular style crust as it was very thin. The pan was only filled 1/4 the way to the top. Both pastas had little to no flavor and tasted watered down. We asked our waitresses if the pizza was indeed deep dish style and she said yes. We said we've never ordered it and came out like that before. We also let her know about the bland pastas. She didn't offer to remake or replace anything. We didn't see or get an opportunity to speak with a manager. I submitted feedback on the website but never heard back from the last bad meal we received.

They even gave me a cubeof chicken ok top of this bs. I called and julianne or whatever the managers name was said it wasnt their fault and offered to email me a couple. Ill never eat here again to use that coupon.

Went on a holiday weekend at 7:15 at night here. Had a 10 minute wait which I thought would be much worse. Get to the table and go to order the prime rib special. Told they have sold out for the weekend. So it starts at 4pm and was gone by 7:30. Was told since was a holiday weekend they cut their trucks. I'm sorry what? You cut the trucks on a weekend you will be busy??? So go to order something else... guess what out of stock as well. Go to order something else...also out of stock. The tips my wife got were super dry and she said her potato tasted weird. Best part is I could hear him talking about me from this one station about how I could I not understand its a busy holiday weekend. He dropped a fork by my table and cussed as well. I've eaten at one other BJ's before and the food was ok but I will not be coming back to this one. Honestly will prob not go back to a BJ's again. It's ok if you like run of the mill chain food but this isn't that good of a chain. The beer they push prob helps with the eh of the food.

We came to BJs when meeting up with High School friends on Thanksgiving Eve. The place has a newer, clean atmosphere. There is a huge beer list and a pretty extensive menu. We ordered a mix of food; wings, sandwiches, and apps. As well as a lot of different drafts I had a chicken sandwich which was good, washed down by a fresh draft. Our server was nice, friendly, and attentive.

Just an FYI this place is part of a chain of restaurants they seem to be linked or in the area of a mall location. It's busy.. it was just two of us and we asked to sit at the bar. They have a large selection of beers but oddly enough no local Pittsburgh beers? But they are a brewery and the beer they do is pretty good, they also have a good liquor selection and do flights and etc. I tried one of their lighter beers and it hit the spot. We just had appetizers so.. Got the Chicken Wings they were pretty good but we live in Western NY state and know good wings. We asked for more ranch which helped they are slightly skimpy on that. Than ordered the loaded nachos it's nice and lots of chips but the basically melt shredded cheese on it so not every chip has cheese. It had all the toppings you expect. In all honesty it's big enough for about four people to eat. All in all the food was pretty good and the bartenders/servers were helpful and nice a plus. Would I come back I think so but I'm not gonna wait for a table. Outta 5 stars I give it 3.5 Lots of parking

Service is great especially at the bar. Food is good, prices are not. Lunch prices aren't bad but beer prices are among the highest of any bar or brewery around Pittsburgh. Use their happy hour to save a few bucks otherwise I would not recommend here. Only reason I gave three stars is the food is good and service as well.

    Guacamole Burger
    Jenna W.

Great place for your favorite comfort foods. They have a pretty wide variety of options on the menu, from flatbreads to burgers to pastas to sandwiches tacos to salads. I ordered the guacamole burger and really enjoyed it! It had so many flavorful toppings on it too; including jalapeños, tomato, Chipotle sauce, Applewood bacon, and pepperjack cheese. All of these flavors blended perfectly with one another, the spice of the cheese and jalapeños balanced by the guacamole and tomato, the tender beef patty balanced by the crispy bacon. Even the fries were deliciously crispy on the outside and soft in the center. I also ordered the Berry Burst Cider and loved it. It was very sweet, but also refreshing and smooth to drink. Overall, a great experience and I'd go back again in the future.

This location is in a large shopping center complex. While the outside is a bit underwhelming, the interior is spacious, bright, and comfortable. I ordered the Bacado Omelet since it came with a bit of everything. The omelet was good, filled with bacon, chunks of avocado, cheese, and mixed greens. The Pico de gallo was underwhelming, no onions, and no hint of jalapeno, virtually flavorless. The home fries were cooked through, and tasty. The Million Dollar Bacon was ordered as a share item, and each slice was enjoyed bite by bite. The salty, smokiness of the bacon, with the maple syrup and brown sugar sweetness, and sprinkling of black pepper and cayenne was the perfect salty, sweet treat with a little kick. There was a half hour wait when we got in, mostly because we got there around 10. The staff had everything running as smoothly as possible. Our server was friendly and took care of two minor issues we had at our table without blinking an eye. I'm not sure how often I'll go to First Watch, but it's nice having options for something different and tasty.

From the moment we stepped inside - my brother warned me that this spot is usually understaffed - so we may need to wait a little for a table. No worries. We got comfortable at their low seated waiting couches. I personally could have easily stayed there for the whole duration - and I think my nieces could have as well. We brought out some of their art supplies and they quickly began their masterpieces. About 15-20 minutes later - a staff member said our table was ready. We made our way over to our hightop table - which conveniently also had an elevated booth set-up. It was a nice set-up for young kids, especially ones intent on finishing homemade cards. The Yard even had some crayons and playful coloring placemats for kids to draw on. Score! My brother placed an order for some pretzel sticks, some orders of tomato soup and some grilled cheeses. My nieces had huge grins on their faces as they imagined their upcoming meals. After about 25 minutes or so after our order was taken, - the pretzels came out. They looked and smelled fantastic. They were great for holding over my nieces' growing appetites. My nieces enjoyed them thoroughly. That's when things stalled. We waited for over an hour with no additional food coming out. I noticed that there was another family beside our table with a young baby - that had also been waiting a long time. I could see the concerned looks on their faces - as their table grew restless and hungry. You could tell that they were eager to eat, go home and put their baby to bed. My nieces began to to get antsy and began to whine about how hungry they were. My brother said that we would wait about 15 minutes more and if we had no update or food - we'd ask about the status of it. And so we waited. No one came over to us - so I went to the bar - and asked about the status of the food - explaining that we had three younger children with us, that were beginning to get hangry. The bartender said that one of their chefs had gone home sick earlier in the day - and that they were short-staffed in the kitchen. She said that she would check on our order and let us know its status. She never came back over to us. We waited for about 20 minutes longer. Nobody came over. I totally understand how things can get busy, how places can be understaffed, and that things come up - but I think that The Yard could have handled the situation more proactively. They should have let us know from the very beginning that they were understaffed and that there would be a wait for food. We likely would have gone elsewhere. Since my nieces had to be back home promptly for bed - we ended up paying for the pretzels and my nieces' drinks - and left. My brother explained the situation to their staff before we departed. From my time here - I believe The Yard would be a solid spot for a family friendly meal - but only when they're well staffed. If you come here hungry - I'd recommend confirming with the staff - before you are seated - how long the estimated wait for your table and your food may be. Trust.

This visit to a Primanti's would be our second since living in Pittsburgh over twenty years. The Mt. Lebanon location is easy to find on Washington Rd./Rt. 19 across from the Galleria mall, next to Dunkin. The bar area is bright, and well stocked. The rest of the restaurant casual, and relaxing. The menu is pretty large and offers more than sandwiches to keep everyone happy. I ordered The Original PB Reuben. The light marble rye was soft, and fresh, not overly sour. The pile of corned beef was lean, and very mild flavored. The Cole slaw and fries were piled on and barely fit between the bread. The overall flavor of the Original PB Reuben was good, nothing really distinctly standing out. Our server was friendly and took care of our table and kept everything in order. Our group stopped in around lunch time and the restaurant had a good size crowd but wasn't packed. I'm not the biggest fan of sandwiches, but a stop into Primanti's, especially with people from out of town is a nice way to share a taste of Pittsburgh with them.

I have previously heard of Truss and seen them around the community at different events, but was excited to finally try them at their storefront. Truss Brewing Company is located in Pleasant Hills, just off of Route 51. This building has been other businesses throughout the years before Truss took over. It is clearly marked and easy to locate. There is a private parking lot in the rear, but they will have it closed off and filled with tables during the summer months. However, there are other lots and parking options surrounding the building along Old Clairton if this is the case when you visit. We arrived just after 7:00, and the place was packed! They had the back parking lot closed off for seating, but luckily we found a spot right in front. There is no indoor seating here, as they advertise the business to be take-out only. Therefore, you can order online or through some delivery services if you truly are taking the order to-go. However, if you are "dining in," you can order at the counter inside. They will give you an order number, and then call the order number outside for you to come retrieve. First, we made our way inside to place an order. There was a decent line that went out the door, but we made it through that in about 10 minutes. Ordering was straight-forward, as the menu is not terribly long. For the beers, there were some different size options. Also, they sold reusable cans, crowlers, growlers, and mini kegs that can be brought back and refilled. In addition to the made-to-order food and beer, there are some snacks, grocery items, non-alcoholic drinks, and merchandise all for sale. After placing our order, we made our way to the back parking lot to find some seating. As stated, there was a live band performing and the place was pretty full. However, we did manage to get a table. There were picnic-style tables, as well as some bar-height seating. I also saw some patrons bring their own lawn chairs, so that is an option as well! The atmosphere outside was very lively. The music was good, there were a lot of groups socializing and having a good time, and there were some yard games set up on the one side of the lot. Definitely a nice spot to bring the family or meet up with some friends if the weather is nice. The wait from ordering to when we got our food was about 30 minutes. I know the food is prepared in-house, and is not generic restaurant pre-made-type food, so this is reasonable considering that. My fiance and I split a few dishes between us. We ordered the Chilled Colossal Shrimp, the Big Fat "Wings," and the Wood Fries Parm Crusted. The Chilled Colossal Shrimp came with 5 and a nice dipping sauce. I love cold shrimp, so this was my favorite dish. The Big Fat "Wings" are chicken drumsticks prepared like wings. Since it is a different cut, you get a lot of meat for your money. We ordered them with the buffalo sauce on the side as well. They were tasty, and again, a great way to make your dollar stretch for a lot of meat! The Wood Fries Parm Crusted are unique, as they are very thick cut. It is probably over a whole potato's worth of fries, so plenty to share. My fiance loves thick-cut fries like this, so he thought these were great. We enjoyed the food overall! For my beer, I ordered the Mortar, which is an American Brown Ale. I usually prefer a brown/red/amber-type of pour, so this was right up my alley. It was a nice sipper to have throughout the night. In terms of value, I think some items have a much better value than others. Specifically, I thought the fries and the chicken were very much worth the money. I personally did not order a pizza this trip, but some of those seemed to be slightly expensive to me personally. Despite that, you can make it worth your dollar depending on what you order and what you are looking for most. Since this place is take-out only, I truly did not have a ton of interaction with the staff, except for when I put my order in. I had no issues regarding this, though I feel as though I did not have enough interaction to make a comment on this aspect of the trip either way. Likely due to all of the seating being outside, the business is dog-friendly! We brought our dog, and he enjoyed socializing with the patrons and many other dogs who were there as well. This was a great place to spend a sunny August evening! I enjoyed the beer, food, and atmosphere at Truss. We loved the live music, and learned on this trip that they regularly hold a trivia night and other events as well. The only downside is that this experience is seasonal, and weather-dependent. However, the food and beer are available year-round, so you can give that a try anytime. I would recommend checking this place out with the warmer months quickly approaching!
