Last night my party of four dined at BJ's restaurant & Brewhouse In Valley Stream. Our waitress was so unprofessional! We've been to BJ's so many times and never have we encountered such shame and Embarrassment when leaving. When needed, our waitress was sometimes no where to be found/ hanging out at the bar and even chatting with her colleagues at the front desk. We even had to ask another waiter for an order. When we told our waitress what we did, she told us that we should not ask anyone else just her. While dining, she would just grab our empty plates and glasses. Where was her manners? For her bad service and unprofessionalism we gave her a small tip. Each of my party member left separately. Before leaving she encountered us and rudely and loudly asked if her service was bad and that she did not even get her 15% tip, so that other customers could hear. And yes they all did and they were all watching. To make matters worse, while I was leaving, she walked behind me telling her fellow colleagues loudly of how much she received. We've had better waiters/waitresses at BJ's who were tipped generously for their commendable service. Ps. This particular young lady had blue braids in her hair. I don't think I'll ever dine again at BJ's but If I do, I'm requesting another waiter/waitress!!! read more

I've been to BJ's down in Cary, NC and the service and food was great. Me and my girlfriend were really excited to see a BJ's open up close to us so we finally went to have a good time. Complete night and day compared to the one in Cary. Food and service here was awful. Didn't get our drinks till 20 minutes after being seated and didn't get 1/2 of our appetizers until 30+ minutes later. Appetizers came out cold. Looked like someone made zero attempt to heat them up. The main course finally came and my girlfriends burger was burnt to a crisp when she ordered a medium rare. Still didn't get the replacement mozzarella sticks we ordered or the other half of my appetizer (boneless wings). Wings finally came which were fine and mozzarella sticks came as well, but with NO sauce. The server apologized. I sat there eating my food while my girlfriend sat there hungry and furious. I'd say only go here for the bar. If your looking for food, go somewhere else. read more

The food is decent but wow is the service terrible. I've been here multiple times and every time I've always had an issue. I order online during my lunch break expecting to go in, get my food, and leave. Today for example, I'm standing at the takeout counter for a good five minutes before anyone acknowledges me. Then finally when someone comes out to get my name for the order, it takes another five minutes to find my order. There was no salad in the bag which was supposed to come with my meal so I had to ask for it. No napkins either. Also, my fries were just out in the open in the holding area which I find pretty gross. Why weren't they in a bag? I'm over this place. read more

I love eating and this was supposed to be a fun night out! So I get there and the place looks great, we sat at the bar for the wait, drinks were fast and bartender attentive and correct! We were seated and it all went down hill! First our spinach dip came out frozen in the center, waiter seemed completely uninterested. Then my burger medium rare comes out icy cold in the middle. Completely turned off! Waitress didn't want to remove burger from bill eventually manager did. No real "making it right" here. I left disappointed date night ruined. read more

Very nice restaurant in LI that brings a great menu. I love BJ restaurant because the service is up to standards and the food quality is excellent for the value you pay. I love their Ribs, salads, salmon and let's talk about that rich mash potatoes. Their signature dessert is great as well as their cocktails. I will be returning soon. read more

Its meeeeh. Place has a lot of potential, but bartender didn't really know what her employer has available. After the first beer, I felt its better to grab sonic than gamble with the menu. BJ's needs to train their employees properly, just like any other bar establishment. She didn't know the beer menu or what was good on the food menu. Won't be returned any year soon. read more

I have been at this location a few times already and even though the food is pretty good and I enjoy their selections, the service SUCKS!!! Prepare for very long waits during busy times and even when not busy there's no greetings when you walk in, and you get to sit at your table for a good 20-30 minutes before they even offer you water!!!!! read more

Very nice looking bar and great bartenders, however Guinness is poured so cold that it tastes like a lemon juice - it is undrinkable!!! What a shame to destroy such a great beer!!!! We tried it on 3 different occasions since the place opened and it is just horrible!!!! Guinness reps should not allow this place to carry their product!!! Shame!!! read more

Giving it four stars because it's a nice addition to the Green Acres Commons. Figured we'd give it a try--had never heard of it, but it definitely has that "chain" look at feel (because it is). Huge menu, if you can't find something you want you're not trying hard enough. Just a couple of highlights/lowlights on the food--the root beer glazed boneless wings were surprisingly good. I also enjoyed my baked ziti, it was basically a pizza-tasting ziti in a deep cast iron dish. Disappointed that the mac n cheese on the kids menu was mac-in-the-box, but my daughter didn't mind. My only complaint, which is a fairly major one, was the service. I get it, they're new, but it's been a month and this isn't this chain's first rodeo. We were there for over two hours on Saturday--we showed up shortly after 5 and didn't leave until after 7. Everything was painfully slow--from the time our name was called to actually being seated, for someone to come by to take our drink order, for the drinks to arrive....it was brutal. Our server was very, very nice, didn't make any mistakes, but the restaurant has some major kinks to work out around timing and staff. Don't know how they'll end up making money if they can't turn over a table in less than two hours. I downloaded their app while we were there--I was able to pay with my phone, add the tip, and leave without having to wait for someone to come back to take the check. You get points per dollar and special offers via the app as well. We weren't drinking at dinner this time but would definitely love to go back and try some of their extensive selection of beer. read more

What a great addition to the area. We were seated promptly, and everyone was so friendly.(hopefully this lasts, and it's not just because they just opened) Our server was Bryan and he was very knowledgeable about the beers (do they have to take a beer class prior to working here?) Told him what I liked and he gave some recommendations, ended up trying the 5oz sampler (4 beers 5oz each) it was a great idea because we got to sample a bunch of different beers that they have to offer. The harvest hefeweizen was my favorite of the bunch. It was pretty light and had a good taste. Next favorite was the Jeremiah red, 7.3% alcohol! Good thing I got a sample. That also was very good but a bit heavy for my taste. The oasis was ok, the only one I wasn't crazy about was the nutty brewnette. It was too heavy for me, plus I still had to get through dinner Note: I don't drink often anymore, so take that into account. Appetizers: Mozzarella sticks, not bad...the selling point for me was the garlic butter breading. Definitely had a unique (in a good way) taste, the only problem was that the mozzarella was a bit disappointing...maybe a better quality cheese would help put it over the top. Side salad (house salad?) Disappointing...basically just chopped lettuce with a couple slices of tomato. We can do better than that (the full entree salads looked amazing from the menu though!) on to the entrees! I ordered the hickory brisket and bacon burger. DAMN...that was a good burger, cooked perfectly and the brisket was delicious. I though maybe between the burger, the brisket, the bacon and the bbq sauce...maybe it would be a bit too much. But they all got along fine, and I really enjoyed it. Fries were great too! Thin and crispy. Wife had the salmon quinoa bowl, and was really surprised by how good it was. Kids menu...a bit underwhelming considering the great options for adults. Chicken tenders, burger,corn dogs, kraft mac&cheese... KRAFT MAC&CHEESE? Are we at applebees? C'mon...based on the quality of the food we had...I see no reason why bj's cant make a quality mac& cheese from scratch. Plus, lets add some more options... Grilled chicken? Fish? Glad to see they have vegetables and fruit as an option so that's a plus. All in all it was an excellent experience, the atmosphere was great and the servers were very friendly. Our server was especially friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Will definitely come again to try something else. And to try to make it to dessert, I hear the pizzookie is amazing. read more

My third time here the food is horrible!! My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs the food came cold along with the appetizers and my order was completely wrong. My wife and I and our 2 year old were looking for a place to eat and found this new spot at the new Green Acres Commons. Looks great from the outside and even nicer inside. We were greeted warmly and took my name and was told to wait a few minutes. As we were waiting to be seated, a couple with their daughter walked in and was seated right away ahead of us with no reservations. So I asked why they were seated first but I was ignored and we were seated immediately anyway so I let it slide. Then there were the silverware, it was wrapped in cloth napkins but when opened, the spoon, forks and knives were dirty. Not only one set but all 3 sets were dirty. We asked for replacements and two sets were dirty. This was really disappointing and makes you wonder what else is dirty in this place. We ordered the "Best Beginnings" appetizer which was great, I had to ask for plates which should have been automatic. My wife ordered a cocktail which was loaded with alcohol and was undrinkable. I had the ribs and it was good. My wife had the steak and wanted it medium well and it came out medium rare, so we had to send it back to cook it off some more. By the time it came back, we had lost our appetite and took home the entrees. Overall, we had a bad experience in this place and will not come back. We did not enjoy our $100 meal. This place has a really nice atmosphere and a huge bar with monitors everywhere you turn.The food was not bad and our service experience was below average.I would not recommend this to my friends and family. But if you do go to this place, check your utensils. read more

Based off of the experiences I had with restaurants around this area (namely, Bronx BBQ), I kept my expectations for this brewhouse bottom-of-the-barrel low. This was the right move... because I was all the more pleased when the place turned out to be pretty good. When I first walked in, I noted that the dinihg space was much smaller than it appeared from the outside. This was fine though, as what was there was well lit and smartly decorated. The service, from hostess to waitress to busboy, was very helpful and cordial. There was this one server who gave us this educational speech on the hops in certain beers and how it would make the jalapenos on the Crispy Flatbread Nachos more bearable. Speaking of the beers itself, I found their in-house brewed pumpkin ale to be a little on the watery side, but my girl liked it. I had the Nutty Brewnette and thought it was pretty good, but nothing too remarkable. The food took a little while to get there, but when it did we were fully satisfied. My burger was well-cooked, and my girl had no complaints about the chicken tacos. I give BJ Brewhouse a light 4, but considering the green acres area it may as well be a perfect 5. Strong recommendation for those who find themselves in this mall area and want something other than watered down Applebee's drinks and abysmal service at that horrible Olive Garden. read more

Had the jambalaya minus the sausage and the meal was flavorful, hot and delish! A dish I will probably have again. While I'm not a big beer drinker, they have TONS to choose from. And the bar is well stocked BUT the didn't have and/or couldn't make rum punch - which IDK how with all that liquor but whatever! Staff was courteous but could use more training in customer service and being knowledgable about the options and specials. Word of advice -- the floor going down that ramp was VERY slippery, you might want to change that before a slip and fall occurs. read more

It's nice to see new places pop up here and don't have to drive to RVC or garden city or queens. Quick review of what the table ordered. -Supreme pizza was great. Its "deep dish" style but not as heavy. It's nice an airy dough/crust. -Jambalaya had prefect amount of flavor and spice. -Fries were stringy but good and crispy -The strawberry beignet was the bomb. Baked good and ice cream not too heavy or sweet. Presentation could have been prettier. -Chocolate chip pizzookie was gooey in the middle just the right amount of choco I'll be going back especially because they have member perks if you sign up for the app. Saved $10 this meal. read more

I was invited to eat at this sports bar the setting is cozy and huge inside that's my only reasons for even giving them any rating you can have a graduation party ,birthdays or any special occasion , when we entered the young later barely gave eye contact just kept sorting the menus for us this at 2"0clock in the afternoon it had about for section with huge screen TV and a bar setting of course the other area are cardone off I ask the concierge if we could be seated at one of the windows she said no I thought her excuse would be that it's reserved for an occasion instead was told it's not opened at that time of the day I think it would've been perfect for my mom who's wheelchair bound to be able to look outside while she eats in broad daylight there's so much to see you would think mgmt would know that a happy customer is what you need Not be greeted with a no you can't, we ordered the lunch special they were huge portions for the $ my southern chicken with mashed potatoes was easy to salty it needed a salad to get the salt away I asked for paper napkins b/c once again my mom I was given brown paper which could've been from the bathroom I wasn't please at all about that and the bathroom were so filthy I only washed my hands not recommended by me however this would not be my go to. read more

Update to my previous review, done shortly after opening. I think that the service is generally good. But see below. The waitstaff is attentive, but not overbearing. I had the Jambalaya, which was surprisingly good. The portion was American and the taste was just right. My wife had a burger, which was terrible. It was dry and extremely greasy. The waitress probably should have checked on us once to see how the meals were, but that didn't happen. Given my two very different experiences, I'll probably give this place another shot, but then again, maybe not. Two and a half stars would be more appropriate. read more

One of the worse services I've ever encountered. The moment the hostess sat us down our waitress didn't come by the table until another 10minutes. After we received our food (we ordered bone in wings in the Nashville hot sauce, the spinach & artichoke dip and the deep dish pizza) our waitress didnt even give us utensils for the appetizer portion. The Nashville hot sauce was not hot - it felt more like a watered down red hot. The spinach & artichoke dip was average. The deep dish pizza was not deep at all. It had a lot of dough and very little sauce. After we finished our meal we ordered a pizookie which took over 20minutes to arrive. In the meantime we asked our waitress for water twice. She barely came around and the times that she walked passed our table did not pay us any attention. By the time we paid for our meal we could've eaten our leftovers because so much time had passed. I'm loving the ambiance here. It's a nice addition to the surrounding area. When I heard they were making this I thought it was part of BJ's Wholesale. Apparently the restaurant was BJ first. I came here for lunch and it was nice. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We started with the avocado egg rolls which were delicious and reminded me of the ones from the Cheesecake Factory. The deep dish pizza was delicious and a must try. The kale salad and the salmon with quinoa was delicious as well. There is an extensive menu to choose from. You can get anything from burgers, to pasta and pizza. The have nice roomy booths. I would definitely return to try other dishes. They also have an app that you can pay with but you cannot do a split payment. read more

The Cons: No server for our scheduled section so waited a while in the beginning, avocado roll had a strange smoky flavor, my burger was overcooked (after bringing the wrong kind), too little rice with salmon. I would absolutely return here for the food, beer and specials. The wait staff was very apologetic and nice but they need a few more weeks to get the timing of the food down. Ordered food ahead of time for dine-in since my group was short on time. when we arrived not only was the food not ready, it hadn't even been started yet because we needed to provide them with a code from our order. Then the manager came over to apologize that the whole online order had not gone through, a few minutes later they came out to say it in fact did go through after we had already re-ordered. by this time we were in the restaurant for 45 minutes already, still no food. We asked them to please just bag it to-go. they come over with a flatbread one of us ordered as a meal and asked if we would like to have our appetizer while we wait, we explained it was someones food, to which the manager apologized and said they would make a new one to ensure it would be equally hot to rest of our order (it was cold). He then presented us with a coupon for cookies which are only valid if you go back and spend more money. We still tipped the poor waitress who had nothing to do with all the mis-management. out of 8 orders half of them either had something wrong or they were just downright gross. I personally threw my sandwich away halfway through and walked down to my work's cafeteria for a better food. I've been here once before too for their "specially brewed" beer and they were all the most basic out of a box kit beers. This place is a joke, you'd have a better chance getting a good meal from the mcdonalds down the road. Don't even bother opening a restaurant especially one that supposedly specializes in beer if you're barely going to half-ass it all. clearly this is a money grab investor restaurant, save your money. read more

30 minute wait to get seated, 30 minute wait for our appetizers to come out. We got the appetizer platter and had no complaints about the food - we were satisfied. The mozzarella sticks were good and so were the avocado rolls. The cookies with ice cream were delicious - best one was the classic chocolate chip. The inside of the restaurant was nicely designed. It was very crowded, which is what is expected on a Friday night and in Valley Stream (where a lot of people are coming in from Queens as well). read more

My review is not for the food or service but for the manager Michel (sp.) I was there last night and this morning I saw an additional charge on my debit card. I called and asked to speak with a manager and when I informed him (Michel) of the additional charge, which is not mine, he said they were not responsible for it. Are you kidding me? I gave Gabrielle the server my card to pay for my purchase; not anyone else's. I stated to Michel that was not our charge and he repeated that they were not responsible. He did not even offer to look into the matter. Great customer service, Michel. You don't have to worry about me spending my money there again. The food is not always consistently good but I love going here because they have healthier options like zucchini noodles and roasted cauliflower. My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience the last time we dined at BJ's. They completely screwed our orders and delivered cold food to our table. For example, he ordered a cheeseburger but they forgot the cheese; fries were cold when they claimed it was freshly fried, salad was drenched in dressing when I kindly asked for it to be on the side, and the wait time to receive everything took much longer than it should've. My only advice for anyone that decides to go here is to repeat your order multiple times, if they didn't do your order correctly ask to speak to a manager, and bring cash as other reviews had a credit card issue. read more

When we got to restaurant we were seated right away, but then 30 minutes late no server had yet to approach our table. After waving down a worker we finally got to place our orders. Food was good, this is the only reason for the 2 stars. There is no reason why customer service should be so poor when this location just recently opened. Tips: - Have the girls at the front desk greet guests as they walk in. None of the guests were greeted. Also when someone books on the wait list online they are seated quicker.... Inform your customers! It's not fun to see everyone get seated before you and not understand why. - please have utensils at tables before guests are seated. Also make sure utensils are clean! Not that hard. - season your steak and ribs, have more Steak sauce a available besides A1. Everyone does not eat A1 - wait time was not long, and drinks were very strong. Keep that up! Dinner turned out to be a bust. The hostess made sure to state that the deep frier was not working. Then sat us at a table and for 15 minutes no one acknowledged there were patrons waiting. Was told someone would be with us shortly, well that was another 5 minutes. So in total we wasted time in an establishment that I won't return to or suggest to anyone to go to. Extremely fast service. The food came out hot and ready to be devoured. The manger was going around making sure all tables had everything they needed. The restaurant is quiet and the music is not too loud. Our drinks were not the best, we got a whiskey sour and it taste like juice and not a sour mix. Definitely Try the avocado rolls!!! read more
