Thank you Thomas and Savannah. This was a truly great tour! The sunset tour was beautiful

Well organized night time kayaking! Fantastic and caring staff as well as great/safe equipment. We had a blast to say the least! Highly recommended!

This is just a small portion of the bites I received while the instructed showed a total disregard for our health

I don't care what the website says about the bugs it's disrespectful to your customers to bring them out there for what is supposed to be a good time. I've been sick for 3 days for the bug bites. I know you're going to see this and your first instinct is to write a disingenuous apology but nothing short of a full refund can make this right

Tldr: This company was awesome, Kyle and Logan were amazing guides, bring baby oil and big spray. For a more in-depth review, read below. This company offers a variety of adventure options depending on what you want. They do night time bioluminescence adventures which are about an hour and a half long as well as a 3-hour sunset excursion which also includes the night time by luminescence excursion. I strongly recommend this one as it's not much more expensive in price (about $15 more per person ) and doubles your time on the water. I went last night and had an fantastic time. This excursion starts at a lagoon on the other side of Titusville and has a really unique overlook of Cape Canaveral. Upon arrival, you'll see signs for BK Adventure that will guide you to the registration desk. When it's time for your excursion, your tour guides will assemble you into groups and issue you your equipment (flotation vest equipped with lights and a whistle, paddle) and go over a quick safety instruction. After that you are loaded onto your kayaks. These are tandem kayaks so they will be two to a kayak but they are roomy. For my excursion specifically, they will take you down the West Indian River where you will get to see manatees feeding before bed as well as other wildlife in the area. If you're lucky, you'll also get to see dolphins. One major disclaimer that the tour guides explain before starting the excursion is that nature is unpredictable and nothing is guaranteed so don't expect to see everything that is advertised. The website explains this as well. After watching the manatees and dolphins, you're taken to another part of the lagoon where you will get to watch the sunset. The guides are available to take any pictures of your crew should you want it. After the sunset ends, you'll go back to the starting point and will take about a 15 to 20 minute break to shake your legs off and have a snack while the sun finishes going down. After that, you'll reload back into your kayaks to begin the bioluminescence excursion. You'll go back to where you originally saw the manatees but you'll now start seeing when you paddle that the water starts looking cloudy. That's the bioluminescence. You'll be taken to some darker areas where you can see them a little bit better as well as bioluminescence jellies if they're still on season. If you're lucky you'll be able to see fish swimming around which makes the water light up as well. Though you can take pictures, it is rather difficult because the bioluminescence are very dim so unless you are coming with a very good camera or your phone has a good camera and you are very knowledgeable the settings, and don't expect to take any good pictures of the bioluminescence. The pictures you see online are typically strongly edited and are not accurate as to what you want to actually see. The experience though is still very unique. Kyle and Logan were our tour guides and did an absolute fantastic job. Kyle was extremely nice and knowledgeable to a point where I thought he was also a conservation officer with the amount of knowledge that he had about the wildlife and everything in the area. Logan was extremely helpful as well and among the most courteous people I've ever met. Be sure to pack with you some bug spray and baby oil. There are plenty of bugs out there that will make you itchy. The bug spray is mainly for the mosquitoes while the baby oil is for the smaller bugs. According to one of the guides, the baby oil acts as a protective barrier. Because the bugs are so small they can't penetrate through the oil barrier. This will help make the overall experience better so you're not itching the entire trip. The overall experience I'd rate a solid 20 out of 10 and will absolutely be back when I'm in the area. Hopefully it's also with Kyle and Logan.

A group of us booked the Bioluminescence Kayak trip . Our tour guide was Chris. He was nice and accommodating. Explained something around the lake. You get 2 hours around the lake. Everyone is supplied with life vest, and must sign a release waiver. We had lots of fun. By chance we caught the space shuttle going up, while we were in the water, a real unexpected thrill!!!

Shortly thereafter EEL acquired Malabar Scrub Sanctuary with the help of the State of Florida for the purpose of preserving scrub jays and other threatened species like gopher tortoises and the Eastern Indigo Snake. Malabar Scrub Sanctuary is a massive 577 acre sanctuary that protects habitats that include xeric dry hammock, scrub, scrubby flatwoods, pine flatwoods, sand pine scrub, ponds, sloughs, and depression marshes. The scrub forest with tiny trees found in Malabar Scrub Sanctuary is the perfect habitat for scrub-jays found only in Florida. Two million years ago they became a distinct species. They are listed as threatened by the Federal Endangered Species Act and Florida's Endangered and Threatened Species Rule. It is estimated that there are only 2,500-10,000 left in the wild. scrub-jays are a long tailed songbird 10 to 12 inches long with blue head, wings, and tail and a pale gray back and belly. Florida scrub-jays live in family units, with one serving as the sentinel that will alert the others. In order to keep the land hospitable for scrub-jays and the other threatened species, controlled burns must be done periodically in order to keep the land clear for the animals to thrive. Scrub-jays need sandy open spots to forage for food and watch out for predators. Hawks and other birds of prey occupy trees and are natural predators to the scrub-jays. Thinning tree densities and lowering vegetation height restores the landscape to optimal scrub ecosystem conditions. As you can imagine a natural area without any shade trees is hot, especially during the summer months. I only went for a short hike before I had to give up. Come in the winter months to enjoy the mountain bike, equestrian, and hiking trails that extend through the preserve for 12 miles. The Malabar Double Loop Trail for example is 5.3 miles. Restrooms can be found next door at Malabar Community Park.

It is built and maintained by SORBA and according to their website is about 2.5 miles long. Finding the trail head and parking lot was a breeze. Bathrooms directly adjacent to the trail head. This trail is about 60% open, scrub land with somewhat wide trails suitable for a beginner. The open spaces duck occasionally for short jaunts through treed single track while staying mostly flat. I did the main loop and decided to try out the blue trail that heads south for about .4 miles... This portion was cut through saw palmettos and featured lots and lots of jarring root knots. It made for a not too fun ride! I got to the end of this short piece and decided to take the fire road back to the main loop. I'd had enough, lol. I saw on the map that there was more trail to be had but I'll check it out another time. The trail is mostly well marked but I did get turned around one time. No big deal since I was the only one out there this morning. I did come across TONS of deer. It seemed like every time I turned a corner deer were jumping out of the way. After I realized what they were it was very cool to have them out there with me. Overall a scenic, if mostly flat, ride on a well-maintained trail. I'll be back!
