The donuts are square shaped but still have the traditional hole in the middle. They are thick and cakey with a consistent taste and texture throughout the whole thing. I loved them! Pretty sure I'll never like any other donut ever again since this place ruined that for me! SO FREAKING GOOD!!!! We met a friend here while in town and she chose the place. The bottom ones on the photo are THE BEST. Bottom middle one was sweet and savory (a good surprise for us). The coffee was a good surprise as well! Nothing makes me more happy than coffee and I always enjoy my iced latte and whatever This I pick I usually go for like a cinnamon sugar doughnut but this one covered in the fruity pebbles look really really good. I believe the name was cereal and milk and it's always so delicious. It's located in Somerville and next then it's the cutest shop. You can buy live plants there they have seating in the plant shop. They also have seating outside of the shop so you have a few options to where you want to enjoy your coffee. I also have other locations left by far. This is the cutest little donut shop. It's cozy, aesthetically pleasing, and has adorable plants and plant pots for sale. While I'm not vegan, I do appreciate that they have vegan donuts. I will say, they are not my favorite as I find they lack flavor. However, there are PLENTY of options for each individual's taste buds. I've become particularly fond of their rotating donuts - the pictured blackberry lime donut is my favorite. I wish they had it all the time but I'm thankful they do not. The oatmeal cream pie is a close second. What I appreciate the most about these donuts is the texture. Their square donuts are somehow fluffy but slightly dense at the same time. I typically don't care for fluffy donuts (I know, I'm weird). I don't want it to melt in my mouth, I want to chew while enjoying the mix of textures between the donut and toppings. Bked delivers. Bked's coffee selection is solid, and every coffee option I've had has been delicious, but not in a "is this coffee or a milkshake" kind of way. It's coffee, baby! The location and decor are 5 stars. The plant room 1000% on trend. The actual donuts though...sub par. Way too dense. Honestly a waste of money for the company. The amount of dough that they're using could make 4 fluffy donuts and instead makes one pretty heavy solid one. The light, airy quality of a donut is what offsets the richness of the icing and toppings. With all that dough the donuts taste pretty similar, seeing as it's 95% dough 5% topping. Their drip coffee was similar to hotel coffee. i'm saddened about the strawberry sprinkle donut. the sprinkles are so hard. and there were SO many sprinkles. For drinks this time, we ordered the lavender blueberry shaken espresso and the brown sugar cinnamon latte. Both drinks were executed nicely, not allowing any flavor to overpower the other. The fact that you can buy plants here is so cute and fun. We sat in the plant room to eat. There was a good selection of flavors for the donuts. The raspberry crunch had a nice flavor. The donuts are very large. They aren't a typical donut texture though. They are kind of like a dense bread. Not fluffy or too sweet. Not moist and soft. They were almost like dense, chewy bread. This is very nice looking donut shop very clean and nicely decorated but the donut is another story. I ordered a pecan donut and these are yeast donuts. So there in no gluten structure at all and it's definitely and the dough has been overworked and it does not seem they let rest to become light and fluffy. The donut is dense and hard to chew. The topping on the pecan is very wet as well. The donut is a little pricey for $3.50. I have been a donut baker in the past and have a mini donut services as well. I decided to drop in and try this place again. I initially visited back when they first opened and they were sold out of many menu items. Today they seemed to have a wide selection of donuts with unique flavor combinations like matcha and strawberry, toasted coconut, nutella, cereal & milk ect. I opted for the cereal and milk donut. I will say the donuts are square and decorated nicely. The flavor was just ok. I felt that the glaze and cereal and milk topping or garnish was good, playful and fun. I tasted the donut both at room temperature and warm, and it definitely tasted better warm. The problem for me was the donut was sort of dry in texture and I didn't care for that. The interior is fairly big. There is room to sit and eat and it was very quiet inside which I liked. There is an adjacent room/area that sells plants and flower pots so it's possible that you might find something for your home or garden during your visit in addition to a donut or pastry. read more

The first time I went to Bked Shop was to surprise coworkers with some donuts and as soon as I walked in, loved how open the shop felt!! Looking at the display case I don't recall ever wanting everything on the menu!! Seriously everything looks so dang good!! I like how they offer more than just donuts but bagels, pastries, sammies. I promised myself I would return to treat myself and surely did! A few weeks later I returned to get a 6 pack of donuts and saw their seasonal drink menu so had to imbibe in the autumn spice latte which did not disappoint. I'm a sucker for seasonal drinks! As far as the donuts went - outstanding! They were baked all the way! Good donut places are far and few around here. I'm used to pączki at home so biting into it brings me memories of making them around Fat Tuesday. I like the yeasty, cake-like consistency of a donut vs the ones where you can crumple it in your hand and melts in the mouth variety. Out of the six I tried I really liked the espresso one!
