I used the drive-thru and ordered the poppy seed bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese with extra cheese, plus one of their specialty iced lattes. Definitely recommend asking for half sweet unless you like very sweet coffee drinks -- it was much better that way for me. The food was fresh and really good, and service is always friendly and quick every time I go. Honestly no real complaints. The inside is also super cute and cozy, although it is on the smaller side. Was in the area and saw this place. I was a bit late in the day for muffins. Most were already sold out but they have a huge variety. My advice is to get there early for the best selection. Everything looked delicious. I did get an apple fritter. Loved the chunks of apple in the fritter. read more

We didn't go to the physical location, but did partake at their food truck. Nice, friendly competent folks. Order taken and fulfilled quickly. Price quite reasonable. We both had a brunch sandwich, which was filled with meat and dressings all on an excellent New York style bagel. No soggy bagel here, fillings were applied to allow it to keep its texture. Meat itself was excellent as well. Don't drink coffee so cannot comment on it. Heartily recommended. read more

I always love the variety of different flavored muffins and bagels. The quality is fairly decent, and they taste delicious. The service is excellent as the team is always friendly, quick and helpful. My only disappointment was how expensive it is for a simple bagel sandwich, I was told $15 for a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. And this isn't like fresh cooked scrambled eggs and thick cut bacon. I was kinda confused on the pricing. So either they rang it up wrong or something. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese. The bagel was sort of dry to me, it wasn't memorable flavor wise. I opted for the Honey Walnut Cream Cheese which was very good, the flavor was very nice and the portion was more than enough to cover my bagel. They offer espresso drinks and frozen coffee as well, the prices appear comparable to other coffee places. Overall my bagel was average but the cream cheese was very good. I noticed some muffins and cookies in the background that looked very good but I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. They looked nicely decorated but this place isn't located close enough to home for me to make a special trip. Customer service was ok. Polite but not overly friendly. read more

For the Monck's Corner location: This little local place is the perfect stop for Breakfast and for any plant lover. They do have very limited seating outside in the front and a cute patio in the back. The bagels and the muffins are so delicious. If you are a plant lover like I am go check out the Wild Roots plant shop in the back while you wait. They have some amazing rare and cute plants. Definitely stop in and try this place. The Service should be faster considering they know it's popular. I also think they should make extra for Sunday's since they close at like 12 I believe. The ambiance was great. Small, quaint, quiet. They have comfy booths with pillows. The service was pretty good, nothing crazy but also no complaints. Honestly though, $50 for two people for breakfast, I was so disappointed. The coffee was just... Ok. Super sweet so you'll get energy but then crash like we both did afterwards. We both got the breakfast burrito with chorizo and jalapeno cheese wrap. Sounds like it should be bursting with flavor, right!?!? Wrong. It was bland!!!!! Don't display your microwave's behind the counter Back story, after paying 48$ for two bagels and two coffees (literally more expensive than breakfast at Disney world) I wasn't expecting to see them pull my sausage bacon and cheese out of the microwave right after ordering. This place right here is amazing. I ordered the bacon and and cheese bagels, iced caramel coffee, donuts and a knish. I am from NY and as soon as I heard they had Knishes I had to get some. Well apparently a lot of other people wanted them too because when I got there they only had one left. The young man at the drive through window was absolutely amazing and very customer friendly and I appreciate that because that is not always easy to find. I will be back really soon. read more

I found myself in Cane Bay with an hour to kill this morning g so stopped in for a bagel. I've been here before and it's just ok. It's what I'd find if I were traveling in the Midwest and some nice, well intentioned folks thought it great to open a bagel shop. But, they fail on execution. The bagels are on the small side, tougher than a bagel should be, the cream cheese was almost watery? It was so smooth, it was leaking out of the bagel- not water works leaking but when you bit into the relatively tough bagel, the cream cheese oozed out. The bagel bites were ok- nice but cooked in a microwave leaving you with that rubbery egg texture with a bit of moisture (not moist but watery) in the middle. Coffee is good and the people are very friendly. Clean place, nice outdoor seating but it's in the parking lot. Not many options if you live in Cane Bay. I'm sure these northern transplants think it's the real stuff but as someone who was a bagel baker in Queens in my youth, this is passable. read more

Well sadly my first time here wasn't a pleasant one. I wanted something savory and their corn muffin looked delicious. The cashier asked me if I wanted it toasted and buttered and I said yes to both. Then I ordered a MEDIUM Decaf Americano... when they rang me up at almost $11.00. My americano was almost $6.00! I questioned the price versus iced coffee at $3.70 and one of the gals remind the counter rudely said 'espresso is more expensive than coffee'... yea, no duh... it always is, but almost twice the price is truly ridiculous. This review is for the private event we rented through The Rustic Muffin. On the website there's a button to choose which location, I chose the cane bay location which is near my house. However before the party I went to scope out where we would put decorations and I realized the owner had been speaking to me about the moncks corner location the entire time we were planning. When I called her to speak to her about it she said "I don't know why you're calling me". During the party she was also very annoyed with us at every request. Several of my family members experienced the owner being rude so I know it wasn't just my perception of her attitude. The party space in the moncks corner location is beautiful and the food was delicious. I just wished the owner didn't act so inconvenienced by us for hosting a party where we were paying to rent. read more

I go every weekend before my weekly grocery shop and then dream about it for the rest of the week. Drive thru is convenient as well. Love this family owned business. The owner is very nice as well. We haven't come here many times but enjoyed it almost every time. The muffins and doughnuts are great. Also, their drinks are pretty good as well. The prices are kinda steep but I understand as it's not a chain restaurant. Last time we went we paid over $6 for a ham and cheese croissant which had one very thin slice of ham and a thing slice of cheese. The croissant over powered the stuff inside. Amazing local place for breakfast! What's actually available in the cafe is far more than we had expected looking at the menu online! Everything is so fresh and beautiful! It's delicious and we can't wait to try more items! Both inside and the drive through were very busy when it first opened on a Saturday, so this place is clearly loved! This was my first time here, my fiancé's second, and it was busy later in the day when he came here, as well, and the sandwiches and salads on their menu also look great! Wow! We ventured out to The Rustic Muffin this morning (a 20+ minute drive from Knightsville) after I stumbled upon their Facebook page last week. I love all things muffins, bagels, and donuts so I just had to give it a try. We spent about $25 on a hot coffee, an iced coffee, 3 muffins, and a bagel with cream cheese. Everything was 100% worth it! We got: a blueberry bagel with honey walnut cream cheese (delicious and definitely tastes homemade). Muffins: strawberry fields, Oreo vanilla, and French toast. Strawberry fields is definitely my favorite, but they were all great. They were all clearly made fresh and with care by The Muffin Man (as their Facebook page calls the chef). About the restaurant and staff: everything was amazing in this category as well. The inside is simple yet tastefully decorated and feels homey. The staff were so kind and funny. They threw in a blueberry mini-donut for us as a joke towards my husband (it was AMAZING). All in all, we will return. Possibly every day for the rest of my life. read more

I think of this place as far and off the beaten path but every time I'm out this way there is new construction! Close to both Cane Bay, Nexton, and other more rural communities, as well as the Berkeley Roper Hospital, this is a great breakfast and brunch option in a small upscale strip mall. The owner was friendly and explained the bagels are flown in from New York flash frozen and then baked on site. Definitely not the same as baking fully on site like Bagel Nation but this location has flavor options I have not seen elsewhere like French toast, and pizza. Common flavors like plain, garlic, everything are also options. 5 flavors of cream cheese or upgrades to a beaglewich sandwich are also available as well as pastries, salads, and many yummy sounding beverages. I stuck with the iced coffee with sugar free Carmel and an untoasted pizza flavor bagel so I could really notice the freshness and flavor of this unique choice vs. having it over powered by cream cheese or the texture altered by toasting.
