First time visiting this restaurant and I was thoroughly impressed. From the decor and ambience, to the professionalism of the wait staff and having the privelage to meet and speek with the owner himself. I chose to have chicken and waffles with a side order of grits. So yummy, I dove right in and forgot to snap a picture of my food. My husband opted for French toast with fresh strawberries and a side of shrimp and grits. Let's just say I had entree envy and was ready to pounce on his plate. So needless to say, I will be returning so that I can try that French toast. I would highly recommend this spot. Did I mention that the great art work that Dons the walls are created by local artist, and is available for sale. First time here and I'm so happy I went! The young woman at the counter was polite and welcoming. She told me they serve breakfast and lunch all day. I ordered the egg, cheese, and avocado on a biscuit with a small coffee (Free refills on the coffee) which is a plus for me! The sandwich was delicious, soft biscuit, fluffy eggs, delicious avocado! The atmosphere was very relaxing and every piece of art and furniture is beautifully displayed, It gives me a Manhattan/Brooklyn vibe. Nice spot with cool vibes. Went to Blacc Vanilla for the first time on a Saturday afternoon for some brunch. They had a live singer performing around 12pm which was nice but did seem a bit awkward for that time of day. I liked the decor, very trendy modern. Staff was nice, friendly and laid back. Food was pretty good, we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, home fries, and a couple lattes. My only gripe was we found out after we had ordered that they have other brunch options that are not posted on the printed menu, I guess you have to specifically ask what the brunch specials are...i mean it's possible we missed it if it was posted somewhere else but it would be nice if they automatically told you what the specials for the day are. Also, the neighborhood may seem a bit sketchy if your not from the area. But overall I would try this place again to try the specials because the shrimp & grits that the table next to us had looked good read more

we came in right at lunchtime on a weekend so it was packed, but ended up sharing a table with two other people which was great. we ordered the pesto grilled cheese and honey mustard chicken wrap with salad...they came out of the kitchen way faster than predicted and all was delicious. even the salad was great and not just a sad side salad that you might get elsewhere. I also had the twizzy tea which was lemonade and hibiscus iced tea blended--highly recommended. if you're in the area looking for a solid lunch or coffee experience this is the place! read more

This place is great. We all ordered the shrimp grits special and it was excellent. Gigantic portions which we all finished because we couldn't stop ourselves. They served awesome biscuits while we waited for our food. The cappuccino was divine. The owner introduced himself and he couldn't have been a better host. Everyone who works there seems super kind and happy and they obviously have great pride in the food (justifiably). After my husband dropped his phone in the toilet they were kind enough to give me a bag of rice for him to put the phone in to dry it out on our drive back to NYC. I hope to make it back to this neck of the woods to revisit this great joint. read more

Holy grail in Newburgh for breakfast! Best shrimp and grits you will get in the entire Orange Count hands down. Their eggs? Soft and cheesy and made with love! A restaurant but not a restaurant their food is like having a home cooked meal. Will not disappoint. The only thing I will say I wish they were open besides Friday-Sunday, but then again I'd probably get fat and my monthly statement on Blacc Vanilla would be crazy alone. And the people? Love this place!! Was there this past Sunday for the first time and was met with terrific, top notch, customer service - so personable. I had the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant and it was amazing. I've maybe had a hundred plus in my lifetime and this was the best. The caramel latte with whip cream was beyond delicious. Everything my husband had was just as good. And, the atmosphere was perfect with marvelous music in the background. Just a great experience all the way around. Came to Newburgh for a day from Manhattan and discovered this place. The atmosphere and design inside are remarkable. Perfectly executed aesthetics. Coffee was off the hook, absolutely one of my best cups I've ever had. I ordered a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Sesame seed bagel after seeing another reviewer recommend it and it did not disappoint. Bagel was fresh & soft, and eggs and bacon were at the perfect ratio. I'm somewhat of. BEC afficianodo ordering them everywhere I go for breakfast and this one left me completely satisfied. I highly recommend anyone traveling through to make a pit stop here and check it out for yourself. You'll thank me later. Staff was cherry on top, about as cool and inviting as you could possibly get. Wish I lived upstairs from this place as I'd be there every morning. PS: I live in Hells Kitchen where they have coffee & breakfast spots on every corner, none in my opinion match Blacc. They've mastered the art of design and food service. Bravo. read more

This place was recommended by to me by a local and my goodness it was amazing. I ordered the Blacc Vanilla Latte and though I normally get plain coffee at new spots, I really liked the latte. The little message written of the foam made the latte taste even better and made a really cute picture. The Mocha here is also very dark and has a nice kick of coffee. I was on the run the day I came but their egg croissant sandwich was a nice pair with the coffee. With really great coffee and a nice ambiance, I would hands down recommend this place for a nice sit down coffee shop and solid breakfast. read more

This is my fourth visit here and it's time to review. The coffee is good, the food is good. But it's something else about this place... it's a happy place. The music is upbeat. The workers are casual and friendly. I am moving to the neighborhood in a couple months and this will be a regular (daily?!) stop for me and my teenagers. This is a nice little coffee shop located in the heart of Newburgh New York. The one time I've been here I had avocado toast a pastry and a latte ...all were very good. We found this little gem while searching online for breakfast places in Newburgh. And when we saw the revies, we decided to try it. And we are so glad we did! The food was truly amazing. The place is so cool inside. You seat yourself, and order at the counter, and they serve you. We had such a hard time deciding on what to eat, everything looked so good. I had the bacon & cheese omelet with a biscuit. My husband had the bacon egg and cheese on Foccacia. My omelet was fluffy and stuffed, and the biscuit was soft and dripping with honey butter. And the sandwich was beyond delicious. In addition, we ordered a side of pancakes to share, and fought over them, they were that good! But the star of the show was their coffee...what and how do they make such a good cup of coffee??? It was so good, that we ordered more coffee to go!
