I had not been here in about 10 years and it was just as underwhelming as ever. Not bad but nothing I've ever eaten here has been great. We were a party of about 10 but there were hardly any other people in the place on a cold snowy night and service was severely lacking to top it all of. The place does have a lot of character inside and has that old Chicago look that appeals to a lot of people. Unfortunately I'm not going to a restaurant to look at the decor.

I went to a gathering here with a large group on a Saturday night and was able to sample a good number of different appetizers including the Emmett's Nachos, Woodland Flatbread, Margherita flatbread, Based pretzel twists, Chocolate stout brownie, and more. Overall, the flavors of all of these items were as good as other more upscale pubs that I've been to with fairly good textures to match (nachos were quite crispy, pretzels had a good firmness). Portion sizes were fairly generous for the price as well, considering that appetizers are a similar size to entrees. Service here was quick, efficient, and friendly as our waiter was able to accurately accommodate our table of 20 -- with good recommendations and prompt drink refills as well. Despite the large number of orders, food was served hot and at a similar time to one another, and plates were also cleared at a good pace. Overall, great place for a gathering with delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly service -- with plenty of beer options available.

Emmett's Brewing Co is a local favorite in the West Dundee/Elgin area. I have been here many times for lunches, dinners, and banquets. The last time I was there I met my mother there for lunch. Our server was very nice and spent time to answer all of our questions. I had the cheddar ale soup which comes with a pretzel twist. This was flavorful without being too heavy. For entrees I had the RASPBERRY WALNUT SALAD (Grilled Chicken, Cranberries, Bleu Cheese, Pear, Raspberry Vinaigrette), while my mom had the BURRATA CAPRESE SALAD (Tomato, Basil, Crostini, Balsamic Glaze). Once I mixed all of the ingredients together, the salad tasted great. The chicken was a little dry but pouring some of the salad dressing on it fixed that problem. The tomatoes in my mother's salad were HUGE. The food was good and I am already looking forward to my next visit. I recommend Emmett's Brewing Co.

Nice pub with a classic feel, Emmett's has an extensive line of their beers as well as some classic pub grub. Prices are fair, and I enjoyed a prime rib dinner for under $30. Nothing fancy, but it was well prepared and I would order it again. Place gets busy, but we were able to grab a couple of seats at the bar on a Friday night. Went with a friend from the Netherlands, and he also liked the brewery Merch as well. Overall, a nice place for a meal and drinks.

Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Decent atmosphere, but not worth the money. Go to Village Squire instead!

The bartender, Hailey(?), worked the entire place flawlessly. Between five of us we had the fish fry, a couple sandwiches and some appetizers. All cooked perfectly and delivered fairly fast. There is a full bar but it's nothing fancy. No top shelf bourbons visible from my seat. We drank beer on tap. With the good food, the fantastic service and tge dive bar atmosphere I can say with certainty that we'll be back. Five stars.

Everything I've had has been fresh, flavorful, and consistently great. Their Friday night fish fry is easily some of the best around and is something I look forward to whenever I can make it in. What really sets Fatsoz apart for me, though, is the atmosphere. As a women, I feel completely comfortable and safe stopping in by myself. the staff is welcoming, the regulars are so friendly, and there's never that uncomfortable feeling you can sometimes get waling into a bar alone. It's a place where you can enjoy a great meal, relax, and feel at ease whether you're with friends or on your own. Great food, great patrons, awesome staff, and welcoming environment keep me coming back. If you haven't tried the fish fry yet, you're missing out!!

The Grumpy Goat feels like a rustic supper club but with an energetic vibe and signature menu items highlighted with a goat. The Bulleit Bourboun burger and fries were outstanding, and I look forward to returning and trying a steak. We held a meeting for nearly 70 people in their back room and had helpful amenities needed and tasty food. People especially liked the skillet dip and sausage and peppers. Plenty of on-site parking too and an innovative cocktail menu in addition to standard beer, seltzers and wines. And I could tell from the conversations between servers and customers in the bar area, that there are many regulars who keep coming back here. I can definitely see why. Thank you again, Chris and team for an outstanding experience.

See, Grumpy Goat consists of two indoor dining areas and an outdoor seating area within a slightly larger building also that has a locker room, golf shop, and meeting room. The food ranges from pub food, to sandwiches, to flatbreads, to great steaks. Both times, the bar area was louder and people tend to focus on drinks and appetizers there. There's a separate dining room beyond the bar area where full dinners seem more common. Given that my 2 trips were in November and December, don't have a good sense for the outside area. I could just see that there are several tables overlooking the golf course. On certain nights, they have live music. Great variety of drinks, appetizers, sandwiches/burgers, and entrees. Can go inexpensive, or can get a filet mignon and spent a lot. Filling choices. Prices are quite reasonable.
