Twist has been a great addition to the Dayton food scene with their inventive way to serve amazing Indian food. Think Chipotle but Indian, so many ways to try buyer chicken or chicken tandoori or saag, you name it thru have it. In a wrap, bowl or salad. It's a great concept and they execute it well, you are able to control the spice which is good for me. I'm not a crazy spice guy, but love Indian food. The service was good and love that you can get soda out of a can, I miss those days more and more. The restaurant was clean, nothing fancy or special but nothing disappointing either. If you love Indian food or foods from other cultures give Twist a try. It's a keeper. read more

I ordered a 1/2 tray of spicy Veg Manchurian ($90), a 1/2 tray of spicy Chinese noodles ($90), and two plates of spicy Paneer Tikka Masala ($26) on 5/20/2026 for a home party. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I paid more compared to other restaurants because I expected better quality and tastier food. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. * The Veg Manchurian was very dry, with almost no sauce or flavor. The quantity was less, but the taste was lacking. * The Chinese noodles had very few vegetables and were mostly just noodles with very little flavor. Again, the quantity was acceptable, but the taste was disappointing. * The Paneer Tikka Masala tasted good, but one of the containers was only half full. We've been going here for years. It's like an Indian Chipotle. You choose what ingredients you want. Food has always been good. The service has seemed to slip in the past year. We call in our orders. The past several times I've shown up on time and nothing is ready. I try to be understanding and appreciate that my food isn't sitting around. Last night was a deal breaker. I showed up on time. Told the lady that I was there. Order not ready. Okay. I waited 15 minutes and nothing. I asked again and she had completely blown off my order. I had the saag paneer. It was more of a gravy consistency with no visible spinach and brown color rather than green. It tasted good and medium was plenty hot, made me sneeze . The rice was typical Indian Basmati rice. And the garlic naan was soft and flaky as you would expect. But I believe it was made with garlic powder rather than real garlic. The flavor was intense rather than mild. The gentleman who served me was very kind and helpful. Even offered me some plain yogurt when he inquired about whether the food was too hot. It wasn't but the yogurt was a welcome touch. The space is very open. Several tables well spaced apart with bright overhead lights. The music about drove me mad though as it kept skipping. For quality and value this is a winner. The interior seating area is very spartan with basic fast food style tables, I would recommend getting your meal to go. There are a lot of food choices in addition to the build your own meal. I got 2 naan tacos kormi with chicken. Also got a chikoo shake all for $15. The shake is small, as are the lassis. We came once to try, and only got a main course for each to take home. We didnt want to order too much incase we didnt like it. Regret. Pure regret that we didnt order more. The flavors were banging! Everything was cooked right, and allows for mixing of flavors. They describe themselves a chipotle style restaurant, and that is the perfect description. They offer a variety of drinks and other sides. It was so good we came back with two of our kiddos. My son got a taco? And his picky butt said it was a 10/10. My picky husband? I saw the ad on instagram. I was really excited to come to this "chipotle style" indian restaurant. The location is in an older looking building. But I went around lunchtime and it was extremely bustling - but the service was still pretty fast. They have a larger menu outside of the bowls/tacos. I got the rice bowl for $9 which is a very competitive price. I also added on the 3x Samosas for $6. The ingredients are very authentic and it does not make any abnormal substitutions. The curry is really great. Meat is well cooked not dried out in sauce. Some places really just toss in chicken into curry which is too soupy, but this place does not. The rice is very good too. It's seasoned rice and it is a bit moist. The sauces are so flavorful. Be careful because the sauce can be quite spicy. , and I think the red cabbage really adds a lot or good texture. The other vegetables like corn are juicy, and the marinated red onions are slightly sweet. These vegetables really bring together the curry to make it a "bowl". I liked the samosas. Has caraway tow flavor seeds. It's filling. I really liked this place and will come back. Best new addition to Dayton. read more

This new spot is a great addition to Dayton!! Really enjoyed our meal here. This is set up like an Indian Chipotle, with a few extra menu items! To start off, I really liked how they had each ingredient labeled at the windows, so easy to order. So many delicious options to choose from! We ordered the Bhel, which was so tasty, crispy and flavorful. We took it to go, and it didn't get soggy, which is a huge plus. We also ordered a rice bowl with biryani rice + tikka sauce + tandoori chicken and it was very delicious and full of all the right flavors. We also got the spicy red sauce, and it is definitely pretty spicy. If you crave spice, highly recommend loading up on the red sauce. They load up the bowl, so I had 2 meals in packed in one bowl. I cannot wait to come back and try the other food (mostly the vada pav, pani puri and nandillas!) the location is definitely off the beaten path, but highly recommend trying it out!! Good food, with a creative "twist" on popular "standards," convenient if you're in a rush, reasonably priced, friendly service, and apparently receives the "seal of approval" from the Indian community, but hmmmmm, I think I've come to the conclusion that there's a limit to how far the "chipotle concept" can go for me... It's rare for me to be in this part of town, so I decided to check this place out, and I'm happy I did... It did seem that the whole operation is sort of... disorganized, just a bit. One person takes the orders, taking you through the steps of creating your meal (bowl, in my case). They were not too busy the Monday night I went, but it seemed like the 3-4 people working there were all yelling at each other and going in at least five different directions all at once!! You pick and choose from the MANY tempting ingredients, and there are some great options for the entree and some interesting "street foods/apps" as well. When it came time to pay, I don't think the cashier(s) knew how to make change, because they seemed genuinely STUMPED when I paid in cash, both for my main order and my takeout, and I had to correct them when I got too much change back on my first order and not enough on the second order. I'm no math whiz myself, but they seemed more confused than I was, but we got everything squared away... Their "street food" options are a great deal, btw, and make wonderful lunches next day!! Definitely worth a try, if you're in the area, but I think I personally still prefer the "standard" Indian restaurant experience. read more

Me and my boyfriend came here to eat for the first time though I had been in here before but for a door dash order. We ordered the same thing: Chicken Tiki Masala with a butter naan. We waited 20 mins for it and after it was brought to our table we noticed they forgot our rice-- which was included with our entree. We told them and they were nice about it and brought the rice to our table. The entree itself was very tasty but also very spicy. I ate it until I couldn't stand the heat and then let someone know I think they messed up the spice level on our dishes and they offed to give us some cream for our dishes, to cool it down. After the cream, it kinda helped mild it down but me and my boyfriend think the spice level was incorrect. The naan was really good also, very light, crispy and bubbly. It was 13.99 for each entree but I don't think I will get this again thought it was good, I think if I come back I will make a custom bowl for 10.40 as it seems more worth your money. read more

It is a casual place. Never saw fusion of Indian food in Mexican style. It has different flavors and you can make your own bowl like chipotle but with twist of Indian food. I personally liked their vada pav. I tried pani puri and never had something like this before as it was warm potatoes filling. I recommend for the fast and quick lunch option. Service was fast. Grabbed some takeout before a night in with some friends and I have to say it was an experience. There is so much going on when you come into this restaurant, so if you are easily overstimulated, I would recommend picking up your order. The "assembly line" has so many options from naan tacos to burritos to naanadillas. I got an order of naan tacos and it was pretty darn tasty. The portions were good and the flavor was definitely there. I also got a mango lassi and my boyfriend got the strawberry. Personally, the strawberry was better in my opinion, so I will have to keep that in mind the next time I stop in. (because there will absolutely be a next time) I recommend this place to anyone especially those who haven't tried Indian before and want to get their feet wet or anyone wanting to try some new things. I tried out Twist just a couple months ago and it instantly entered my weekly rotation! I've been getting the BYO rice + curry bowl and I really appreciate the clearly marked vegan options and spice levels. The food is fresh, filled with spices and very satisfying. Spicy means spicy here - don't go for the spicy options if you don't mean it. Mostly a take-out place but I do enjoy sitting in and eating. My friends, you know I love Indian food. And, if nothing else, Dayton has a great array of curry houses, not the least of which is Amar/Jeet India, who just were named Best Ohio Restaurant (southern region). But an Indian "fast casual" place? I was a bit skeptical to start, but quickly came around on the idea, particularly with how well The Twist does it. Going in on a Friday night, my wife and I were a bit concerned by the line in The Twist's lobby. But, after just a few minutes, we were being served and assembling some delicious Indian food. The Twist gives you a number of options for your good, ranging from traditional curry/rice bowls, to Indian burritos (which is what my wife opted for), to a "naandilla"--a sort of quesadilla made on Naan bread with Indian fillings. And damn, if it doesn't work. My Tikka masala naandilla had just the right amount of heat, but with great flavor and just the right proportion of food. My wife's lamb korma burrito was stuffed to the gills, leaving her with leftovers to take home. Even my daughter's boneless wings were tasty, with a massive portion and really flavorful sauce to dip in. I'm already planning a return trip to The Twist, the next time we're in the area. One minor thing? I'd love to see an option for "curry chips"-- curry served over British style chips, or even three restaurant's already good seasoned fries. The food is delicious and great value for the price. There's some level of customization (picking toppings and whatnot), but they're all pre-made, so you get the ingredients how they are prepared. It doesn't exactly have the best atmosphere, so I say it's more of a takeout restaurant than one you'd want to sit down and spend time at. Service is not the greatest. They're trying to be efficient so there's no room for pleasantries as they try to get you through to the register as quickly as possible, even if it isn't busy. Mind blown by the combo of flavors they have here. It's set up like a hothead or chipotle so you only have yourself to blame if you don't like your dinner.
