Always a Solid Stop We stopped in at the Black Bear Diner in Draper for breakfast. I've been to Black Bear before and even to this exact location, so I already knew it was a safe bet. It didn't disappoint. The place had a quiet, easy vibe. Not too busy, and if you know, you know. It has that comforting, rustic charm that always hits the spot. Hubby had scrambled eggs with cheese, toast, and hash browns, plus a hot coffee. I went for the avocado toast with an egg, red potatoes on the side, and added a side of bacon. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. Our waiter, Davio, is originally from London and brought great energy to the table. Super friendly, attentive, and quick without hovering. We were in and out quickly, full and happy. If you're anywhere near Draper or have the opportunity to dine at a Black Bear, it's a solid breakfast spot. I'd absolutely stop at again.

Black Bear Diner in Draper--classic, familiar spot. Comfort food hit the spot, good for a casual meal. Our waiter seems disinterested but all good.

Finally, this was my first time checking out a Black Bear Diner for dinner. From the outside, it always looks like a nice place for a meal. Their menu was in the form of a newspaper. I ordered their New York Steak & Eggs with grits and sourdough toast. The menu said that it was a USDA Choice Meats by Linz steak. Can't say that I've heard of that particular brand, but it was good. I got coffee to go with my meal. I always love places that serve breakfast all day. I might say that it was better than eating at a Cracker Barrel! The service was also very nice and friendly. I would not mind eating here again!

The Black Bear Diner is okay. I think the food isn't memorable. I got the Bread Pudding French Toast and it had raisins in it. The server was really nice.

We come here every other Sunday for family brunch. The servers are always friendly, and the food consistent. The cute bear decor is welcoming and cute and it's always been clean - no dust or small housekeeping items that stand out as needing attention which I appreciate. This little diner has become a part of our family memories.

Service was so good, Gary was so super nice and helpful. He definitely made my experience at this restaurant better and he would be the only reason i'd come again. Not gonna lie food was really butt, unseasoned and not worth its price.

The service was very good and the food never disappoints. Brought my son who just loved the bacon!

Five locations and they have not lost a step. The menu is simple and does not need to be anything else. Plenty of omelette options, solid sides, and the star of the show: the Heavenly Hot Cakes. The name is not marketing fluff, it earns every word. Light, airy, and unlike any pancake you will find at a generic breakfast chain. Their secret, sour cream folded into the batter. Whatever they are doing, it works! We ordered a single stack, two Heavenly Hot Cakes, and paired it with a side of strawberries and Nutella, scrambled eggs, and home fried potatoes. The bacon came out crispy to perfection, exactly as requested, no more no less. The strawberries and Nutella alongside the pancakes was an indulgent combination that I have zero regrets about. Portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for what you get. Staff was friendly and the place fills up fast on weekends, so join the waitlist before you leave home. Do not show up and hope for the best. Five stars. A Utah breakfast institution that continues to earn it.

Our server Marin was awesome. The bartender and owner stopped by our table several times to check on us. They have regular and high tables plus seats at the bar. There were several TVs around the back of the restaurant. The front of the restaurant is open during the day for breakfast. I want to try that out soon! So I think in talking to most of my friends I got a good view on the food, and presentation. I had a starter of Totchos, and the Beef Dipper for my entrée. Both were excellent, I shared my Totchos. These are tater tot nachos, they were excellent, normally I don't like cheese sauce on Nachos, but given the consistency and flavor of this sauce (house made, I'm guessing. Not canned) They were excellent. The Beef Dipper and Au Jus, also top notch! Generally in a French dip, there is a lot of fatty pieces, this was not that. Also at my table was the Chile Verde bowl, this one has a kick... but my friend having it really enjoyed it. The fish and chips was great, smelled fresh. Lets talk about the sides. Choice of Fries (appeared to be battered fries, always a favorite of mine.) Tots, or house made potato chips. I had the Potato Chips with mine, these were excellent, crisp and tender on the inside. The Athena (Lamb Burger) got rave reviews from one at the table The Service: Because we were in a large group they advised us they were going to be taking our orders as we came in so not to overwhelm the kitchen staff. Excellent communication throughout service given that we were a large group. I talked to one of the Owners, Laurie, I could tell she had a huge sense of pride in the place. Very friendly! The Restaurant: Great atmosphere, Fun artwork, best of all, VERY Clean, nothing sticky or no grease buildup on any surface. The glass ware on the wall behind the bar as all polished. In the bar area they stack their silver, tableware, condiments etc. in a cute little cozy box on the table, with the main dining area setup as a diner with the traditional paper napkin and silverware. For a diner motif to have shined silver and glassware is a nice touch! Summary: Eat here! The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, when I looked at the menu online I was a little put off by no actual entrée's on the dinner menu, however the in house experience made up for that, it's a pub food vibe and they are doing it well!
