service!?!?! is that what you're supposed to call it?? well. ... not !! i stood there right up front, not busy at all!! in fact it was 9:15 pm when i walked in. not one staff to be seen at first! then a couple girls came around zooming by as if they were so busy that they couldn't even acknowledge that i was standing there. didn't bother greeting me, or even at least say welcome and we'll be right with you!! so far not so good!! finally i had to get even closer to the counter. finely one girl finally said. 'have you been helped?" i told her no i haven't, she said hang on and walked away!! after a couple of minutes another customers came in . she all the sudden wasn't so busy! or possibly i might have been completely see through !! invisible...by chance!! after finely seating me she quickly showed the man that came in about 7-10 minutes after me to a seat right by me. she didn't even walk away and immediately asked him if he already knew what he wanted. he said no not yet. she asked him if she could get him something to drink. as i was still invisible!! she quickly walked right past me!! not even asking me if she could get me a drink, or even ask me if i knew what i wanted??!!?! i knew exactly what i wanted already!! i just got through reading the menu and signing up my email and phone number!! i did this in the parking lot in my car right before i went inside. the floor was disgusting!! when that same girl brought him his drink she again walked right past me!! my menu was still closed!!! obviously most waitresss should already know that when the customers menu is closed and they are just sitting there.. looking all around the place, that means the customer has decided what they want and they are ready to order!! ( i was taught this as a young child and my very first experience at a restaurant. another girl also was walking quickly ...as if they were so drastically busy or her pants were on fire!!! i could not even believe that this was actually happening!!! i have never in my entire life and going out to a restaurant to eat, been so absolutely invisible.in my life!! i was just about to either start yelling " is it possible to get some damn service over here" or i was gonna walk out and just give them a bad review. the other girl, not the first one, i believe she was the hostess, i could be wrong?! she finally came over to me to ask me if she could get me something to drink. i told her and she was just about to high tail it away from me, when i had to blurt out.." i already know what i want" some reason she seemed sooo surprised!! i told her that i wanted the salmon with a salad she said " mashed potatoes and gravy ok?" as if i didn't even have a choice!! maybe i don't know how to read either. i read that you got your choice of potato!! what if i were to say "no i would like a baked potato" i really should have said that!! after bringing me my drink and my salad with runny ranch dressing" it was about 5 minutes later and bingo! poof! out comes my salmon!!! now dang !! i never realized how fast it takes to cook a salmon!!! then i was starring at it, cuz it just did not look right!!! it did not even look " normal" at all!!! first thing i noticed was that..it wasn't pink !! maybe im color blind as well!! i swear...i know that salmon is pink!!!. everyone knows that!! it was beige , tan color!!! and also it was square!!! come on now!! since when is salmon beige, tan color and... square!! of all shapes!!! possibly the salmon when it was alive could have been a bit of a square .. and just happened to stay that way!!! after trying to eat my salad with the waterd down ranch, i just could not take my eyes off of this quickly made,.. tan,... salmon !! i was seriously beginning to think that it was plastic!!! it really did look plastic!! and unbelievably cooked??? so fast!!! it could have been!! so, i just had to actually... touch it!!! nope to my surprise it wasn't plastic!! cold now ..my fault i'm sure, i did eat my salad first ya know!!! by this time, i'm sure those two girls were noticing that i haven't even started eating the salmon. i sure hope they were watching me when i poked it with my finger to make sure it wasn't plastic!! while eating my roll and the saltine crackers next to my roll, i was still quite hungry!! and debating if i even dared to eat it!! tan square salmon!! i was actually scared to eat it!! let alone eat anything else on that plate!! and i was hungry too!! i was actually looking forward to having the salmon too!! my mind i believe was warning me!!! what if i did eat it!! and it tastes as horrific n plastic as it looks!! what if i got..food poisoning!!! for heck sakes. id rather go hungry and disappointed that i couldn't even eat my salmon i was looking forward to. it was getting closer to 11pm when they close and i read more

Good food the benches to sit have seen a lot of wear and tear. Could use some remodeling. I guess you have to ask for a toddler chair even though they see you struggling with the toddler. Family atmosphere big portions, restaurant overall clean. read more

Nothing too special about Dee's; the restaurant offers a diner menu similar to Denny's with breakfast food, burgers, and a handful of other dishes. Portion sizes are decent, but the breakfast food didn't have a lot of flavor to it. The service was a little on the slow end, but I'm guessing that might have been due to an understaffing issue. I wouldn't avoid Dee's, but I also don't think I have a reason to choose them over other breakfast restaurants either. read more

Can you say BUSY! Tons of people waiting to be seated so we opted for the counter. Even then it took forever to be waited on. As we were sitting there, right under the "window" where the meals are placed for pick up by the waiters we could see, and hear everything going on between the wait staff and the kitchen. Food kept piling up. Plate on top of plate. I kept wondering why don't they have someone plating so the food gets served to the customer's quicker? Our waitress finally came, and took our order. Then we waited and waited and waited. It's first come first serve with no Rhyme or Reason to who gets the blueberry pancakes and the Rye bread. It's whoever gets there first and grabs it. A nice older gentleman sat next to us at the counter. He ordered and got his food way before we had placed our order. What's up with that? Hummm My order finally came out, but my grandson still had to wait. I thought that was odd because I saw several Eggs Benedict stacked on the shelf where the food was waiting. Again it's whoever gets there first. The waitress kept saying yours is coming right out. Right.... He finally got his meal and quite enjoyed it. My pancakes were cold. but no fault of the cook. There was a lot of wait staff bustling around, so it wasn't because they didn't have enough help, and the cooks pumped out the food pretty fast. I am really glad that Dee's restaurant is still in business. Are usually go to the location on 2100 S. and 700 E. but today I stopped in at the Redwood location in Taylorsville. Food: I had the waffle combo, my eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. My waffle wasn't warm enough to melt the butter that was already room temperature. Service: I did not get my servers name, but she was very nice. Took very good care of me. Restaurant: as far as the cleanliness of the restaurant itself, it looked fairly clean. I did have one objection there appeared to be customers, rolling silverware with personal drinks and food on their tables. When I talk to the manager about it, she insisted that they were employees, nonetheless, Rolling silverware is something that should take place in a clean area as silverware goes into the mouth of diners. Having spent a lot of time working in restaurants myself I know this is a very common practice, but usually after the dining room is closed during a slow period. My wife treated me to a Father's Day breakfast. We decided to go to Dee's because we have never had a bad breakfast there and we love the family oriented ambiance. First of all, I ordered a Chile Verde breakfast burrito. IT WAS HUGE! And it was AMAZING! She had the crepe combo and loved it. Even though the food was wonderful, as usual, I am mainly writing this review because of the service we received. Our server was an amazing young lady who kept checking on us and making sure we didn't need anything. We did complain about we felt like the Tabasco was watered down so she happily brought us a brand new bottle that was still sealed. We could tell she was serving a lot of the tables and the customers all looked really happy. Kimber did an amazing job serving us. I came here a few Saturday's ago with my grandma. I was worried there would be a long wait being that it was Saturday morning around 11 am. To our surprise we got seated right away in the packed restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and came to check on us throughout our meal. My coke I got tasted a little flat and the waitress was understanding and brought me a new drink right away. As far as the food, the food was good. I have had better breakfast at other places but I would say it was good. The pancakes were pancakes and the rest of my food was just what it is, if that makes sense. Nothing bad but nothing great, just food! It's been so nice being able to get out more with things looking better from covid, so I can definitely see my grandma and I going out to eat more often and we will keep Dee's on our list for places to go, we had no complaints. Went to one of my old go to places to eat breakfast. As always this place did not disappoint. The food here is always amazing! The food is always hot and so tasty especially with a good cup of hot coffee. Our waiter Xhris was on top of it and was very polite and talkative. He never let my coffe run dry and was always there asking if we needed anything. This is an old school dinner and everyday blue collar people come in and an enjoy some good home cooking. This just as casual as they come, the staff there is very friendly and very polite. I will always comeback here to enjoy some great food and people. This is a great local late nite eats spot y'all! We've gone here a handful of times now and the service and cleanliness is always on point! We've always had different people wait on us and they've all been so accommodating. Their prices are also surprisingly cheaper than similar restaurants in the area. We've had their burgers, cheese fries, waffles, pancakes, sundaes and pies there ~ all were delicious! I wish I had more pictures, but when you're hungry late at nite, that typically means that you're HUNGRAYYY!!! Hahahaa! Needless to say, no time for many photo ops! My ONLY complaint is that they run out of their delicious seasonal pies often!!! Aughhh! Sometimes, you just need that berry pie, with loads of whipped cream or that peach pie, with loads of whipped cream! That's all I ask......... Servers are 10/10, the classic diner feel. I tried the Denver Omelette with a side of pancakes and had a great meal with my friends. The Hash browns were a little over cooked on one side and undercooked on another but that can be easily forgiven considering how good the omelette was. A group that I'm in meets here on a monthly basis, so over the past nearly 2 years I've gotten to try many of their dishes (though I tend to stick with my favorites now). This Dee's tends to be quite consistent in their quality and service, and due to this I tend to prefer Dee's over some of the other "American Breakfast/Diner" style restaurants that are similar in the area. Went here last night and the service was horrible. This is the first time I have ever walked out of any restaurant. It appeared they had 3 servers working but only 2 were really doing any thing. The girl with the pink hair had one side of the place and the other lady was "taking care of" the other side. The was another lady, her name was Renae that totally could have been helping too but was just filling the jelly holders. We we sat on the side of the Second Lady but she was only focusing on the larger group that was there, 10-12 people at that table. There were 4 other tables with 2 people each and one with 5 that this one lady was supposed to taking care of. After waiting 20 minutes to have our order taken we waited another hour and still hadn't received our food. The table of 5 went and asked if their food had been started because they were going to leave, she said it was done then went over to get it and was having a tantrum because she couldn't figure out what was theirs. We had actually ordered before that table. There was a ton of food sitting in the window forever but she was only focused on this one large group. The girl with the pink hair had more tables and she was getting them taken care of and out the door. This other lady though, she needs a new job if she can't take care of all her customers. And the lady filling the jelly holders should have been helping. It was a joke!! Clean restaurant, like the new carpeting, the ladies bathroom has a contraption that allows you to open the door without touching the door with your hand, brilliant. Dee's Family Restaurant - SLC, Utah It's after 10:00 PM and I'm craving an omelet. Finding a great breakfast spot in Salt Lake City is easy. Finding one that's open after 10:00 PM is non-existent. Dee's stays open late. They close at 2:00 AM on the weekdays and 24 hours during the weekends. They basically serve the same stuff that you'll find at a IHOP or Denny's. One things for sure, Dee's doesn't get a lot of love from Yelpers. Another thing, they really don't need a lot love from Yelpers. Dee's was busy after 10:00 PM and even busier in the mornings. It's obvious that business is good at Dee's. For $11.49, I got their Mountain Man Omelet. This omelet is their 5 egg omelet stuffed with ham, sausage, mushrooms, cheddar, and Monterey Jack. This omelet is also served with 3 hot cakes and hash browns. The omelet was good and perfect if you love eggs. The hash browns are okay and the pancakes average. I actually didn't want to pancakes and hash browns that came with the meal. But the restaurant doesn't offer substitutions and was going to charge me for them any way. Overall, there is so many other breakfast options in Salt Lake City. But when it's after 10:00 PM, you do what you gotta do to get your meals in. read more

Today I ate at the 4700 South & Redwood Rd Dees. Ordered hot turkey sandwich. Was hard to tell where the gravy (packaged) left off and the mashed potatos began, both extremely runny. Turkey was tough, white bread was even tougher and forget the crust unless you wanted to break a few teeth. Got my food and never saw the server again. I would love to give this place a negative star rating but...not possible. My family and I ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from here. We were unable to place an order for pick up unless we went through DoorDash to place the order and then we were able to pick it up ourselves. We did this. I received confirmation that my order was received. I then received confirmation that my order was being made. I was asked for an approximate time of arrival so that Dee's would be alerted to my proximity. I gave them a time. I then received confirmation that my order was ready. We pulled in about 5 minutes later and when I went to pick it up. The doors were locked and there was a little sticky note on the handle stating that had closed early. I can clearly see into the restaurant and although they could see me as well none of them would make eye contact with me I knocked and knocked and knocked and someone finally answered the door I told them I had just there to pick up a door Dash-and would be out of their way. The manager told me she had decided to close early and had contacted DoorDash to cancel all orders. I showed them my confirmation that my food was already prepared (according to Dee's- NOT DD) and ready for pick up. It wasn't a new order etc. so showed all 3 different messages from order received to order ready for pick up. She didn't care. Didn't even care to look. She told me it was a DoorDash issue. So I asked for my money back. Again she placed all blame on DD and wouldn't help me. I then asked for my food to be made and I'd take up the refund for my first order later. She said no we are preparing to close. This being said with a full staff clearly present and already 3-4 tables with people being served. OK I understand its Thanksgiving and I totally get that however we were there prior to their holiday hours a good hour before they were scheduled to close. They need to honor the holiday hours posted!!! Besides that ... even though they had been paid AND they were responsible for making the food I ordered - they very clearly did not care at all about honoring their end of the transaction. It was clear the manager and staff had zero intention on helping the situation. The last thing they said as I left was "Good luck getting your money back from door Dash!" Nice. Professional. Happy Thanksgiving. Don't waste your time or money because you can't either of them back from Dee's As far as DD. As soon as I contacted them I was Completely thoroughly taken care of they were very supportive they were very professional and on top of everything else they were very polite I even received a credit from them when in fact DoorDash had created zero of the problem.
