Holy cow!!!! This place is always amazing, come here and enjoy a casual down to earth setting. Where they take care of you and serve you with a smile. Our waitress Katey was on top of it today. Never letting my cup run dry, which is always a good thing. Now for food, you better come prepared here. This not for the weak at all. They give you so much food that you will be blowin away. And it is amazing here. They have it together here. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. I know black bear is all over the place but hands down this is the best here. Touring the Mighty 5 ended up stopping in Richfield. Saw this fantastic looking Diner with Black Bear statues and a big sign. Entering we were promptly met and seated with menus. The menus look as a newspaper with fun hunerous articles on the front and all the menu items on the inside and back - really neat. The server brought us water while we looked it over. This place has a BIG menu ! They serve breakfast all day and all you diner plates , burgers, meatloaf , pot roast steak seafood , salads and more. The homestyle dinners come with hot cornbread, salad, or soup and 2 sides! I opted for the meatloaf while my friend has the Volcano Breakfast- 2 huge pancakes, sausage, bacon and 2 eggs any style. The cakes were HUGE and fluffly so good. The sausage- a big link and flavorful - nonlittle bacon here- big slice of bacon and eggs cooked just right! The meatload - OMG so good- 2 kinds of meat mixed together. The dinner came with a BIG salad, hot cornbread muffin with nutter and honey, the plate 3 HUGE slabs of loaf covered with gravy and topped with 2 fresh made onion rings , also a scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy cradled into the center and a side of fresh steamed broccolli !! Intried my best but it defeated me - Ibhad a whole slice of loaf left to take home. This place is LEGIT ! One of the Best Diners around. We were passing through on our way from Bryce to Moab and needed a place to eat. We had no idea this was a chain until we saw the menu, but were pleasantly surprised. The best way to describe it is a Denny's that has super cute interior and a more robust menu. They have something on the menu for everyone and it was all tasty. The service was great and efficient. I thought it was priced well for what we got, especially since the portions were huge. We also thought it was great that they hire differently abled people which was just awesome. Wish they had some of these in the mid-west where we live! read more

I really enjoyed being here. It's popular place but it took us 10-15 min wait. The wait was worth it for us though, we got served portions that were filling. I got the Big Boy Black Bear Burger and the waitress was very kind to offer me it in a lettuce wrap with no cheese to accommodate my gluten free allergy. I did't breakfast or lunch the day before and only had a burrito so I was pretty hungry but the meal filled me up just right. This restaurant was awful . The server was ok just a server nothing special . But the Friday night fish fry made me so sick . I couldn't get to the bathroom quick enough , while on the toilet I was puking in a the trash can . The place was clean as far as I could see but who knows what was going on in the kitchen . Don't understand the hype. Mediocre service and food was barely okay.we ordered breakfast and it was a disappointing experience all around.

I wish I could rate them 0 stars my wife received her hashbrowns and they were cold. And me and her ordered the cinnamon frenshtoast and he had a weird flavor to it and we are use to ordering them just never been to this location. We told the server and she brought the manager over and we told her about it. I drenched mine in syrup and forced it down but my wife couldn't touch hers. Manager came by and by that time I was done eating and she offered to bring something else for my wife but she said no thank you it's not worth the wait. And didn't take the food off the bill or even come talk to us when we were paying really horrible service in her end. Highly don't recommend this location to anyone. read more

Good took well over an hour for some pancakes and sandwiches. All the tables around us were waiting really long times. Server was nice but no reasoning behind it. No manager walking around apologizing. Our kids were clearly upset and we were met with apologies, not a muffin or crackers or something to help tie them over. We drove out of Moab to get away from the crowds and 30 minutes wait times. Since we had to head home anyways we figured drive out a bit, to smaller town ...and hopefully we'll find a shorter wait time or NO WAIT. And that's what happened since we decided to stop in Richfield Utah. We did go with the counter individual seats (since there was a bit of a wait for tables). My only complaint would be that there were a lot of employees standing around talking at the front counter. Good service, but the food was below my expectations based on the reviews. First, for the vegetarians out there, there are a few options. They have a veggie burger that I didn't see online and said they can make the salads vegetarian, but they also sever breakfast items all day so you can get several things there. I got the avocado toast, which is literally a few slices of avocado on toast. Nothing more. It's probably the most basic avocado toast I've ever had. The fruit that came with it was mostly under ripe. I also had a cornbread muffin. The texture was like it was stale or something not quite right. I was hungry and didn't want to make a big fuss so I just ate it, but I would not recommend it. Also got a bear claw to go. They're wrapped in plastic wrap and in a refrigerator, which seems pretty unusual for baked items that are supposedly baked fresh daily. I took my family into Black Bear in Richfield a couple of weeks ago and were seated. Our waitress came and greeted us and was very nice and helpful. She was very attentive and very professional. Food was good, Price is what it is considering the servings and the current economy, thanks for the military discount. Now to the service that we received. We called ahead to find out if they had vegan options and they did! A vegan burger with a salad no croutons. Aspen, our server was great! I disliked my ribs and without asking she offered to get me something else. I loved their bacon and fluffy pancakes! Great atmosphere. Only downside was no patio so our dog could join us. The service in this place was incredible! Unfortunately, my party and I were coming off of the road from a long cross country road trip and we came in about 30 minutes before closing. Walking in, we asked if it was okay for us to be seated and they welcomed us with warm smiles, kindness, and such friendliness! Had a truly great experience! We came in with a large group on a busy Friday night (family reunion weekend) and were seated right away. Staff were prompt and super friendly, and arranged for all of us to be seated together. The menu has lots of options of homestyle comfort food. Breakfast is also served all day. Food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. I had the BBQ burger with sweet potato fries and can highly recommend that dish. Even my husband, usually not a fan of sweet potato fries, said these were the best he has tried and kept stealing them off my plate. Other family members had fried chicken, prime rib, fish fry and omelette and overall everyone was happy. Portions are huge! There are a few vegetarian options aswell, which kind of surprised me. The hashbrowns and prime rib could have been a little more well done (but I'm really nitpicking here.) There was convenient parking in the lot behind the restaurant. I know black bear diner is a chain, but we really felt like guests at a hometown restaurant. Would definitely eat here again. All of the bear statues outfront are pretty over the top corny, but they seem fitting for the place and made me smile. read more
