Stopped by Black Cat for the first time last night & left that place having had amazing pizza, great dessert... and so appreciative of all the people that worked there. Michael our server was great, so kind and genuine, the type of guy we will never forget! The owner Sean was awesome as well. When you leave a place knowing almost everyone's names in there I think that means something. As soon as we walked in we were acknowledged, and as soon as we got our food we could tell just how much they care about the food they serve. Every pizza I saw looked like perfection and I know these guys strive to make everything these serve the best they can. Not only that but it tasted amazing. I wish I had taken a picture of the dessert we ordered (bread pudding, berry compote w vanilla ice cream ), that was amazing as well, and just like everything else it looked beautifully presented. Sean also brought us a bonus dessert from the kitchen to try. This review is long but deserving. We will come back to this place and also recommend everyone we can , thank you all at Black Cat for being such cool people, providing an awesome environment & serving great food. I love it when an impromptu decision leads to a great find and tonight was one of those. We made a last minute change of course and ended up at Black Cat. Michael - like the ambiance - was so welcoming, warm, and friendly; we couldn't have asked for anything more from the service. The food was equally wonderful. We ordered the Citrus Endive Salad and Sausage with Fennel pizza; my fiancee, who is French, was instantly in love with the salad which she said reminded her of something her grandmother would prepare back in Avignon- the highest compliment. Perfect balance of flavors. And the pizza didn't disappoint. Looks heavy, but eats perfectly light and crispy. Fresh ingredients and great flavor served with a smile. We sat outside on the cute patio with puppy and the fresh flowers. Give it a try because it's something new with fresh quality. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. They only sell one size pizza with six square pieces . I asked if they would do half and half so we could sample two flavors and they said that they usually do not do that but she said ok. I love places where they don't say no. We have never had Detroit style pizza , only deep dish which really isn't our favorite since we like thin crust pizzas. The toppings were fresh and tasty and I liked the bread style crust because it wasn't like any bread I have ever tasted. The bread just melted in my mouth and was very light in weight. I enjoyed the pepperoni honey the best. Mom wasn't a fan because she was really wanting the traditional pizza that she is used to. The salad was large enough for two but the fruit wasn't quite ripe. My advice is don't go if you are expecting pizza as you know it. Only go to try a very different experience of Italian cuisine. My advice to the owners would be to put those same fresh and tasty toppings on a thin crust pizza and offer both types. I think they would be lined up around the block for that. read more

If you're a fan of Detroit style pizza, I highly recommend this place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the pizza is incredible. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. We had the margherita, diavolo de miele, wings, and Brussels sprouts and I think two other pizzas? And they were all super super good. They also have great ranch and bleu cheese dressings! This was our first time trying this cute place, and we really loved it! We started with the wedge salad, our waitress asked if we wanted it chopped and tossed before it was served and we opted for that. The salad is enormous and I really like their take on the wedge. It has golden raisins, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, pickled onions, chunks of cheese, and yummy warm bacon we really enjoyed it and would definitely get that again. We went for the pepperoni pizza with hot honey oil and we're not disappointed. Next time we come I'd like to try one of their other pizza options because they all sounded delicious. Came here last night for dinner and had the best experience. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the sweetest waitress who was so incredibly attentive and helpful with menu and drink suggestions. I've never had Detroit style pizza before so I came in very open minded. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be a complete understatement - the food was PHENOMENAL. From the choice of toppings to the crispy edge on the crust, it was truly flawless. We tried three different pizzas and they were all equally as good. We wish we had found it sooner so we could go back again this same trip! I also really appreciated that the owner was there checking on the guests - extremely friendly guy who clearly has a passion for his craft. The vibe is also super fun and moody. We had the citrus salad for $21, half order at best, they advertise arugula and endive there was no endive, I had to add my own at home. The salad completely unacceptable for the price.
