Stuft pizza has always been one of my go to spots for happy hour in the Coachella Valley. Every day they have happy hour inside the entire restaurant, but I usually just sit at the bar so I can watch some sports. They have a great selection of food and have never been let down. They have a reliable and consistent tap list, nice whiskey list and a killer happy hour. My friend in Palm Desert kept talking about Stuffed Pizza. I thought she was referring to stuffed-crust pizza from Pizza Hut. It wasn't until I went to place an order that I realized she was talking about Stuft Pizza! We ordered online and picked up to bring back home. They have a special pickup area, so you don't have to go into the restaurant, which is nice. The pizza was ready when I arrived and in their warmer, but I had to wait for the salads. It's nice to know the salads are made fresh and not premade, but it was strange that the salads took longer! When I got home, the pizza was amazing! Seriously, one of the best I've ever had. Just the right amount of spice in the sauce, the cheese was well melted, and I loved the crust. And it passed the sitting in the fridge and reheating test the next day, which is probably the most crucial test. It wasn't cheap, but Stuft Pizza is on my list for good pizza when visiting Palm Desert. read more

I'm giving Stuft a 5/5 not because it's phenomenal, but because it's always a 5/5 for exactly what you expect from a great sports bar: they consistently deliver way better-than-sports bar fare, friendly and fast service (even during a World Cup match) and a clean, upbeat environment. My good friend and I stepped out of the sweltering heat, grabbed a beer, did some fun retail therapy in the mall (NOT a 5/5 mall, but it's at least air conditioned with some good anchor stores). After shopping, we grabbed another beer and a bite and were on our way. Highly recommend for fun & relaxed sports bar meets shopping. Live Stuft Pizza. I think occasionally visit the one in Old Town La Quinta which is great however the Palm Desert location is my go to for Happy Hour from 3:00 - 6:00. The beer selection. Is great and cold. Sometimes I come in if I am in the area for the lunch special sans beer. Love the Prosciutto Flat Bread. My recommendation is sit at the bar Amber is the best bartender. That said the entire staff does a great job if she is not working. Only critique is sitting at the bar corners that jut out like a peninsula. read more

The cook forgot to put onions on my pizza but staff was very kind & offered to add onions to pizza for just a 2 minute wait. This worked out well since the Brie cheese was not baked into the pizza but just added on top. My family and I come to Stuft almost every Sunday after church, and we're always hoping we get Jeff as our waiter. The place is always packed, but he still gives us great service every single time. He's friendly, checks on us without overdoing it, and always makes us feel welcome. Our go to order is the Modelo Cheladas, the calamari, and the Everything But the Kitchen Sink pizza with regular crust. Every time it's fresh and delicious. By far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Sat at a table for over 7 minutes while waitresses just walked right past us. This was on a dead Thursday night at 7 pm. We had to move to the bar after 12 minutes just to be greeted by the bar tender. Asked us for our order which was two drinks and an order of bruschetta. She then continued to fill others drinks and visit with other tables. After 17 minutes of being there we finally had our drinks being made. After 30 minutes our bruschetta was still not out and had empty drinks. She took our order but then went and talked to a guy at a table for several minutes before coming back to make our second round. Asked for the check and was charged for the bruschetta that never came out. Meanwhile other regulars came in and were greeted warmly and got prompt service. I suggest avoiding unless you plan on becoming a regular. Worst service. read more

***FiSH HAPPENS*** About Last Night: Was leaving the mall, with intentions to eat another Sunday dinner at home, but wifey & I made a spontaneous decision to try their Baja Fish Tacos because we didn't feel like cooking again. Their Happy Hour(s) is 3pm-6pm daily and it was 5:40pm when we strolled by on our way out the mall. Glanced at the HH menu outside the resto...and we both said "Fish tacos" with a smile. Nicely greeted & seated by the hostess. We asked to sit inside the restaurant area in a booth opposed to the bar because it's more quiet. It was freezing cold throughout the resto and all the vents were blowing strong -- so strong it blew the check, receipt, and cash away, while I was trying to pay the bill at the end of din din. There's a few tv screens on the walls which is nice because I was able to see the last few innings of the Dodgers/Cubs game. In case you're wondering? The Dodgers lost to the Cubbies. Once seated, we were immediately approached by Armando, the fantastico waiter. I recognized him from the last time we came here for dinner a few years ago. Unfortunately, he and the outstanding service from the entire team were the only bright spot this visit. The Baja Fish Tacos were terrible. The pan seared sea bass was like mush. Had better frozen fish sticks from the school cafeteria in the 5th grade. Even if the fish were better, these tacos are so uninspiring. Who wants plain sour cream all over 3 fish tacos? Have you ever ordered a piece of fish and said "can I please have some sour cream with that?" If so, you're the only one I know. At least kick it up a notch with some more flavor. The corn tortillas used for these fish tacos? Awful and chewy. Only reason why we decided on these is because I/we love fish tacos, and a few years ago we had their sea bass piccata entree and it was good. Also, there was barely any fish inside the tacos. I guess that was a good thing -- if you prefer 3 slaw pico de gallo tacos with sour cream. These Baja fish tacos had zero game. McDonald's filet of fish is better than this. I highly suggest the management and head chef here rethinks how the Baja Fish Tacos are prepared and served, and the accompaniments and condiments too. I've eaten my fair share of fish tacos but these were honestly the worst ensemble ever. Fortunately, Armando the waiter was on his A-game. When he asked "how is everything?" we nicely told him the truth and asked for the check. When he resurfaced, he apologized and said he spoke with his manager and they'll find out what's going on in the kitchen, and explained that he took one of our orders off the bill. Thanked him but also expressed how disappointed we were with the meal since we had such a good experience with our sea bass a few years ago. Only reason why I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is because of Armando and the friendy service from the entire team at Stuft Pizza...and a more favorable experience here a few years ago. The TV show "Cheers!" was an iconic sitcom from the early 80's that I watched as a kid. I never thought that I would experience anything like that in real life, but many have. To find your "Cheers", you actually have to frequent a place often enough to where they not only know your name, but what you like to eat, drink and where you like to sit. The only thing I was looking for was a convenient place to have dinner after visiting the gym downstairs. Well, I found my Cheers at Stuft Pizza in Palm Desert, CA. The menu is as big as a Bible and their food is consistent and delicious. What puts the experience over the top is their staff. Friendly, loyal, hard-working individuals who always go above and beyond. Ironically, if the place is busy which it often is, their managers can usually be seen doing whatever it takes to support the floor. The Stuft experience may never be a TV show, but they have one of the best cast of characters on any given day, and to that, I say Cheers! Happy 12 year anniversary and here's to 12 more! read more
