Been here twice now. For me a good pie is about the crust, excellent toppings are easy in any decent place but it's the crust that ruins it. I've yet to find a better crust. Service is very good, both times on point. It's a very simple place, with nice indoor and outdoor seating. I was there near closing time and I noticed that one of the staff was cleaning like crazy, wiping down surfaces, sweeping under things. This is what I like to see. We actually came here last year just before closing, and the pizza was just as good this time around--really flavorful and definitely worth the stop. We are repeat customers who eat at Bill's at minimum twice a month, probably more counting lunch pizza by the slice. Today we received two large pizza's to go. When we got home and opened the large pepperoni, there was a smell that signaled something was off. Four of us took a bite and all realized the pepperoni was obviously bad. When I called to let them know and request a refund, the lady on the phone argued with me that they had not had any complaints. If she would have just accepted this instead of being incredibly rude on the phone, we would have accepted and moved on. We will no longer ever eat at this establishment. Found this pizza place last minute while visiting Palm Desert and I'm so glad I did! The staff are super friendly and pizza was so good! (We ordered the Nicolas Cage pizza lol). Bill's Pizza is always good. Service was S L O W start for a Monday, although it WAS busy. Who doesn't love pizza? A few teams were there, which added to the busyness. It took no less than 10 minutes to be greeted the first time and another 8 minutes for our iced tea to arrive. We sat at a small table near the "kitchen" which busy and loud. This is definitely a louder venue than the Palm Springs location. Nevertheless, the pizza was delicious and we had plenty to take home. Our waiter covered a large area, including outdoors, and he checked back with us, as did a few of his co-workers to make sure we had everything we needed. We were greeted warmly and assured we would truly love the pizza. We weren't disappointed. I ordered the individual meat lovers while my wife ordered the pepperoni. We also ordered a family size Cesar Salad. It was soooooo big but truly amazing. During the meal my 18 month old baby spilled water. In seconds the staff was over helping clean it up. Pizza is okay, but from an efficiency standpoint this place is terrible. They can't keep up with orders and often mess up orders. So not only do you have to wait on long time for the food, it may not be correct after the long wait time. It's sad to see restaurants operate in a manner that turns customers away. Solid Pizza Spot with One Miss on Customer Service We found Bill's in Palm Desert on Yelp thanks to its great reviews and close proximity to our hotel. The place sounded bomb and it delivered. We ordered The Nicholas Cage, and wow, what a flavor combo. It was a favorite for everyone at the table. The basic pepperoni was solid too, classic and well done. The only miss for us was the Hawaiian. It had a little too much going on and just didn't hit the right flavor combination. Probably wouldn't order that one again. We also tried to order wings (because pizza and wings go hand in hand) and the girl at the counter was pretty blunt about it. She said, "This isn't a wing place, this is a pizza and salad place."
