This company is terrible. They were assigned to us by our home warranty company. The tech was rude to my mom when he came to the house. One appliance they claim could not be fixed but miraculously another company came out and fixed it with no problem. Ash came to help us with our dishwasher, which had stopped working and displayed an error code. He diagnosed the issue very quickly as a leaky pump, showed me exactly where the leak was, and ordered a replacement. A few days later when it was delivered he came back and installed it. Like many others, I was forced into using this bottom of the barrel contractor through my worthless home warranty provider, First American. We had submitted a claim for our oven in which the gas company had red tagged and clearly stated "leak due to damaged piping in stove". When the "technician" from Black Diamond arrived, he pulled out the stove, turned on the gas, stunk up the house, and then proceeded to say he didn't smell anything... insisting that I sign an authorization for reasons he could not tell me. After finally receiving the technician notes from FA, I learned that the technician recommended that a plumber come out to look at our oven... a PLUMBER. Dumbfounded, I called First American to try to make sense of it all, in which, or course... they couldn't. Eventually, my claim was transferred to another useless contractor at FA who ultimately closed my claim for reasons unknown. Long story short, avoid this place AND First American at all costs. I was connected with Black Diamond through First American Home Warranty (FAHW). My gas dryer is covered by FAHW and, frustratingly, it is not actually heating during the drying cycle; instead, all cycles are basically "air fluff" cycles which necessitates multiple runs and/or significant time on the drying rack before anything is actually dry. So, when FAHW coordinated a repair with Black Diamond I was thrilled to get this sorted -- it's too bad that the service technician who came to my home did not actually fix anything. Instead, he noted that the gas was not on (despite the fact that our gas furnace and stove are on and do work) and suggested that my husband and I contact the previous owner. What were we meant to contact the previous owner about? I have no clue! (And how is that meant to be a viable course of action that leads to a resolution of this problem anyway?) We weren't given any useful suggestions, nor were we informed about what necessary next steps would be taken to actually fix the initial problem. I've since had SoCal gas out to inspect the unit and the line and (as we already knew) our gas supply *is* on. To add a further layer of "what the heck?!" to this situation, I reached back out to FAHW to find out the status of this (as yet undone) repair, only to be informed that Black Diamond had officially closed out the service call, noting that the issue had been addressed. I have home warranty with First American Home Warranty who contracted with this service company to check on the fridge. The tech said to me while onsite it needs a new compressor. However, they told the home warranty that they couldn't diagnose it because simply the back cover was off. This is totally BS. Beside the lady who answered the of this service company was so rude as well. Now the home warranty company wants me on my own cost to get second opinion in order to dispute the denied claim. Bad experience and service. This "business"have a very good relationship with "First American Home Insurance". Bad business too. Sadly, Yelp has not zero stars rate. We got this company because of the home insurance. We bought the house not even a year ago. To start with, the "technician" who showed up to my house was very rude. When he came to the house, he knocked the door, I opened it and he just walked right in, never said a work or introduce himself, I knew he was from black diamonds because of the shirt he was wearing. Not even good afternoon. Then , he took a look at the dishwasher, and end up that day telling us he'll come back with the broken part and repair the dishwasher. We patiently waited until the next week, then he showed up a week later , again, not a word and he started repairing the dishwasher, he started talking on the phone with somebody in ANOTHER LANGUAGE‼‼ Russian, Farsi, I do t know. again; that is rude. He ended up his job at my house telling us "the dishwasher has roaches and someone is going to call you" . My husband and I had a hard time trying to understand what he was saying. He never ask us to come to see the dishwasher full of roaches or ever explained the problem with the dishwasher open. He just showed us a picture with a roach there , but we never see the actual problem. If he saw the problem since the beginning; why he didn't mention the roaches the first time he opened the machine? It is fishy that he found another problem the second time he supposed to fix the dishwasher, now the dishwasher don't work at all and they told us is not going to be repaired/replaced. Bottom line , the warranty for the dishwasher got denied because of that problem, the thing is ; when they call us from the home insurance they ask me if they I wanted a pest control to come to my house because I had a roach infestation ‼‼⁉. This person has no limits, he saw our house and you know when there is an infestation of any kind of bugs. Came on‼‼ how much did you get for saying lies? Are you paying from your pocket? Or what's the deal? There was a language barrier clearly, but he saw my house clean and neat. Who knows if he has that picture from another place and he said it was from my house. I definitely do not recommend this business at all, Neither Fist American Home Insurance. We bought the house with the dishwasher and it broke down, we didn't lied to them, again, I don't recommend this business to anyone. Run away from this business. read more

Black Diamond unfortunately has been to my home on a couple of occasions. They are tied to the home warranty I had and must say they really lack in all aspects of their business. They have on each instance been unreliable in terms of scheduling and more importantly lacking in ability to complete the needed repairs. The most recent occurrence the technician sent out damaged my wood flooring during his unsuccessful attempt to repair my refrigerator. He stated that It wasn't done on purpose and would take care of the damage. Upon speaking with the owner of the company he stated that his employees are individual contractors and is not liable. Was ultimately forced to go through my own insurance and cover the cost out of pocket. If you are looking for dishonest and unethical company who don't know a screwdriver from a washing machine then black diamond is your preferred choice. read more

This is the only appliance company I will use from now on. I had an appliance company come out before black diamond and they couldn't find the problem with my fridge and said it was user error. Aris from Black Diamond came out and found the problem right away and it was the ice machine not the user. Very professional proficient and knowledgeable. I am so glad I came across this company on Yelp. My mom's expensive washing machine hasn't been working for at least a year and a half, and she's been complaining how the clothes are being worn and covered in lint.   We previously looked for help, but the problem didn't get fixed. We have also tried using high quality wash products, but that didn't work either, so we had to use the dry cleaners for our nicer clothes.  When we called Black Diamond, we were able to book an appointment immediately. The staff was very professional and polite, especially Emily.  The technician they sent arrived on time and was a true professional: he knew what he was doing.  We are very happy that our washing machine now works like new. The tech who came to our house was on time and courteous. However, whatever was done to fix our dishwasher was not effective and we are dealing with the exact same issue again. Like others, we were sent to Black Diamond from our Home Warranty company. It took almost a month from when I opened the claim for the initial "repair" to be done due to availability of appointments and it taking two weeks for the necessary part to come in. Our dishwasher is having the exact same problem approximately one month later, however because this company was contracted through our Warranty, I have to go back and open a new claim and pay all over again to fix the same issue. I feel bad leaving a poor review because the technician was nice, but it was a shoddy repair. read more

I rarely write a negative review because no one is perfect and we all have our bad/off days. However, Spring, 2021, First American Home Warranty contracted Black Diamond Appliances Services to repair my washer (slow water fill and softener leak). Few days after the repair, the agitator cap fell off (not an original problem). I phoned and spoke to a woman who told me the service technician said he never touched the washer softener/agitator and that softener dispensers are not covered under my warranty. I was furious! FAHW re-assigned Arpi Appliance Repair who the next day replaced a part and within 30 minutes my washer was working perfectly. Today I placed a service request for the dryer -- FAHW assigned the request to BDS. Not Again!!! I reminded FAHW about the last service request, they apologized and assigned my request to Apri. The technician was very knowledgeable about the oven, he knew the exact issue right away, ordered the parts needed and was completed within the next week. You're better off flushing your money down the sink, my experience with the technician was nothing short of a money grabbing scam. This guy comes over after I reported my dishwasher stopped working because the door panel broke during a wash cycle and water drenched the circuit board, shorting it out. The landlord's contractor looked at it and said the exact same thing. So I called First American Home Warranty and they send this scam artist over and he tells me water leaked onto the circuit board from the counter. Water leaked onto the circuit board that's behind the door panel from the panel? A child would be able to tell you that's not what happened, but this guy just wanted his commission and a bonus for not doing the warranty work because that's how their incentived. They did their "repair" and the washing machine still did not work after they left. I called them numerous times to tell them it's still not working, but each time a secretary would take my number and no one would call me back. When i finally got in contact with Arthur, he said the problem is probably more than the washing machine is worth and i can't get them to give me any specific answers. First American sent them again this month for a separate issue with a broken console. The machine is 20+ years old and wear and tear is all over it. He lied on the report and said my dryer was workin fine, just making noise. He also wrote that it was older than it is. I worked in the appliance industry for well over a decade, and have dealt with more than my fair share of service companies and technicians. Vic is the best I have yet to deal with. He is knowledgeable and incredibly efficient. He has been here for two separate repairs, each time once to diagnose, once to fix. That is rare. Black Diamond staff called me when the part was in, a half hour before my tech was arriving, and even repaired my fridge on a Saturday. Ask for Vic if he services your area.
