There are several flatscreen TVs mounted on the walls and behind the bar. There is also a nice outside patio in front of the building with table seating and soft firm pillows on the seats. The food offerings include a selection of appetizers, soups, chili, salads, burgers, handhelds, pasta dishes, bar pizza (10"), steaks, seafood, chicken dishes, desserts, and a childrens' menu. The pricing here is moderate. The bar offers 10 draft beers, beer bottles/cans, wine list, sangria, spirits, and cocktails. I stopped by Oak & Orchard for a late lunch over the weekend. Since it was a sunny clear day outside, the outside patio was open with partial shade covering and moderately busy. I requested to be seated out on the patio and and I was able to relax out in the sun and given lunch & drink menus. The server arrived promptly after being seated. I got an ice water and ordered the Chips & Dip ($8 plus tax), Chili ($10 plus tax), and Mac & Cheese ($12 plus tax). The Chips & Dip came out first, which had homemade hot crispy seasoned salted potato chips with a dense creamy French onion dip & chives. Next, the crock of Chili with tri-color tortilla chips and the Mac & Cheese arrived. The chili served very hot had a soupy consistency with seasoned beef, cumin, beans, tomato, melted cheese, sour cream, red onions. The tortilla chips were a nice & crispy. The mac & cheese was creamy and saucy mixed with al dente cavatappi pasta, topped with parsley. I requested a box for some of the mac & cheese, so I could get dessert. For dessert, the Orchard Crisp ($8 plus tax) was served hot, which had apples & pears, cinnamon oats, vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle, topped with fresh apple slices. After I was done, the check was presented which was $40.66 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food tasted pretty good for the most part. The potato chips were on the saltier side and the chili and mac & cheese had soupy consistencies, though I prefer thick chili and denser sauce pasta dishes. The Orchard Crisp was excellent. The service was adequate as my food was served in good time. I would come back here for dinner.

We arrived at 1:45 and walked into disarray. No one to great us, no host or hostess, just a lot of confusion. There was no record of my friend's reservation. We learned there was a 2:30 seating and that took us by surprise. We waited at the bar and had a few drinks. This had me feeling anxious. We heard them discussing table seating for different parties, but when I asked, my friend's name was still not added to a seating list. It seemed there was no one in charge. As 230 approached, we were told we can follow them into the seating area and while other tables had the parties names on small placards, still there was nothing on the two open two-seaters tables. We sat, and waited. On a positive note, we were the first table to be told the food was ready and we could go into buffet. No complaints about the food, it was pretty good. The final irritation was when our bill came, and I handed my credit card to the server. She seemed to be taking a long time to return with my card so I got up and went looking for her. I approached the bar and found her discussing an issue with a co-worker about another diner's bill. All the while holding my card in her hand. I stood at the bar, be ignored until I politely asked if there was a problem with my credit card. They snapped out of their daze and apologized to me. We wrapped up the transaction, and we left. As I said, the food was good, but maybe because it was a special holiday buffet everything was messed up?? Not sure. Not a pleasant experience. Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior. We loved this legendary performance at a legendary restaurant!

I don't typically love a thicker type of pizza, but I really enjoyed both of them.

Someone should have mentioned that fact because it took an hour for our entrees to be served. When asked what was taking so long the server said that she understood but the kitchen was in the middle of service for the function. Don't get me wrong, this place is outstanding and I'm going to be back but a heads up would have been nice.
