The staff is top notch, they have endless games and activities they do with the kids, including archery! The fact that they also cover school vacation and early dismissal days make the lives of working parents SO much easier. The Taekwondo is great- taught by Mr. L and black belts. The kids are taught respect and self control, and it's hysterical to watch them shouting and counting in Korean. I can't say enough about this academy. We are looking forward to their summer camp program as well- and they just started kickboxing classes for adults!

There's plenty of other times to go that should fit anyone's busy schedule. All instructors are friendly & outgoing with challenging classes. They switch up classes so it's not the same routine each time. I always feel like I've gotten my ass kicked (in a good way) every class! Their schedule is on the Mindbody app. & they have great seminars almost monthly. If you're into yoga or want to try something new they offer a discounted price for new members so check them out.

The team was a major step in my daughter's confidence build, skills, and teamwork. She bounced off this team and tried out for RI Magic where she brought out everything she learned and practiced daily from being on SBA and watching Basketball training vids. New ownership raised rates but did not do much if anything to improve. Out of date equipment, but hey they have cross fit.. Not a good gym for beginners either, I watched personal trainer consistently make fun of people including one girl on the leg press machine that was in better shape than her. Only good part of the gym is they do good things for the kids. Just Google search the names of the coaches working with your kids, especially those not listed on their Facebook or website, let's just chalk it up to "They forgot to do background checks" keep the kids safe. This is all my opinion based on my personal experiences working there and being a member there

While I was there for 1.5 year before needing a shoulder surgery, as a result of the BJJ classes, I often felt frustrated because I was too often paired off with brand new female students and not progressing as much as I should have. I was a very dedicated student attending 5 BJJ classes per week and took copious notes after each class.. I understand about giving back, but 3 out of 3 foundation classes all with newbies, 2-3 weeks at a stretch was too much. It was not fair to me. After leaving the above review on Google Reviews, GMA/Jason removed my post altogether, so no one can see it. If the above review isn't true, Jason would not need to hide it. I am very disappointed by this dishonorable conduct.

They are very focused on extracting the maximum money from their students, pushing private lessons that have steadily increased in price in order for a student to advance. Promotions are doled out randomly, and primarily to private students. The dojo has also failed to honor their written contracts with my wife and me. We were told at the outset, and the contract plainly states, that moving more than 25 miles away is grounds for cancellation, but we have been flatly refused a refund after moving over 100 miles from Waterford. There was an offer made for transferring 6 months of classes into what would amount to about 10 - 12 private lessons, which is a) not what the contract stipulates, and b) patently absurd to expect a student to travel 4 hours for a half hour lesson. The foundations of the program, as set out by the Gracies and Valentes, may be excellent, but Jason is far too often away to consistently deliver on them. Practicing combat sports requires trust, and I have none in GMA.

From Gymnastics to Dance, the variety and quality of instruction can not be beat. The caliber of teaching continues to rise as is evidenced with each passing recital season. Adding competitive dance to their offerings has challenged both my 9 and 16 year-olds to take a risk and bring their dance to a whole new level. The best part of SCMC though is the community that it offers. My girls are who they are today because of the love and support they receive from staff, administration and their peers. They look forward to going to the studio every day, it is their second home!
