This secluded spot behind the other restaurants is super cute and adds to the ambiance and excitement about trying something new. I liked the QR code food ordering option, but it felt weird that you had to go to the bar to order. I would have preferred to see a menu at the table so that we could get each other drinks rather than going in waves. We began with the gyoza which was incredible, but sadly when its good, there is never enough. The garlic style ramen will rate very high compared to all ramen. Warning: The amount of garlic is excessive; probably a metric ton. If you only like garlic, skip this; the garlic is going directly to your vein. But the flavor is immaculate all around. I would have loved a bit more protein, but it was great how it was. I can't wait to go back.

It took us forever to discover that this place was inside of Bearded Iris Brewing. We waited about 15 minutes which I thought was minimal for a Friday evening. Bearded Iris + this fabulous ramen didn't disappoint. To order, you scan a QR code for food and go up to the bar for drink orders. While minimal service, every employee was super kind and helpful! The ramen was phenomenal. The beef tartare was surprisingly good as well. I was nervous about the texture but the cracker underneath did its thing!

Let's all be thankful for this legit ramen spot in our town. It's taken me forever to get over here but man I'm glad I did & now it's going to be in my regular rotation. I got the garlic version & it was so damn packed full of flavor I was shaken. My first ramen was had in Tokyo so I try to not be a snob & complain too much about sub par ramen here in the states which is so often trash & not worth the money. That is so not the case at Black Dynasty & we should all be so glad. The crispy Onigiri was slamming as well. Great spot to snuggle up to the bar or grab a booth with friends for beer & some slurping. They are really putting so much effort & knowledge into their craft & I love them for it.

Everything we got from this place did not disappoint! From the crispy onigiri to the matcha dessert everything was 100/10. My friend doesn't like matcha but the dessert ended up being her favorite thing ‍ We will definitely be back! It's a first come, first serve bases so definitely plan ahead.

Visited Feb 18, 2024. Black Dynasty is a self seated, self food order, self drink order at the bar, and automatic 20% gratuity. One vegan ramen option while the rest are possible seafood contamination that are not recommended. 2 hour parking is available uphill behind the restaurant. All items are $10+. Child ramen bowl (noodles + egg) is $14. Adult is about $20. Interior Ambiance is nice mostly dark colors, floor to ceiling windows and full bar towards the back.

LOVE this ramen! It never misses. You can order a great beer at the bar, and take it outside or to a table and order ramen. Kind staff, fun vibes, and trivia on Wednesdays!!!

Black Dynasty is great! It's housed inside Bearded Iris Sylvan Supply and you can order your meals via QR code from a table. They have classic ramen flavors, but they always have something new and wacky, so you can come back often and not have the same thing (they'll announce their specials on Instagram). We've come here a few times now and we've really enjoyed the ramen; it has a nice depth of flavor and pairs great with the Bearded Iris beer. It is on the pricier side though, so definitely know that ahead of time, especially if you're bringing the whole family. Great ramen overall!

I really wanted to like this place. The name was cool but nothing set right with me after the smell at the door. While they were eager to sit a party of 8, the food was mediocre at best. My food gave me a tummy ache and a few others felt nauseous. We tried all the appetizers & desserts so my review is pretty honest here. Wouldn't recommend

This is the best ramen in Nashville. They have an IG account so follow that because they always have "one-day only" specials. It's fun to see what they come up with and it's always so good. Black Dynasty is located inside Bearded Iris so grab a brew while you eat. They have QR codes at each table so you order and pay on your phone making the ordering process really fast and efficient. This is a great place to meet up with friend and catch up. It's a nice a quiet atmosphere and great for a pre game.

Deliciously chewy noodles and a perfect ramen egg. The collards are an interesting but unnecessary touch. Honestly, it made the broth a bit too salty. A solid ramen but could be perfected.

This is the BEST ramen location in Nashville. I have yet to find any spot better. Whoever is cooking back there needs a raise. The service is always fast and the ambiance is such a chill spot. The hellfire ramen is by far my favorite.

I have always been an otaku lover but ever since black dynasty added the vegan tantanmen to their menu I've had a change of heart. This ramen is spectacular. So many veggie-based ramens are lacking in flavor and substance but absolutely not this one. It's got the exact right amount of heat and the scrambled tofu is grilled to perfection. Since is doesn't have much seating, I would go during non-peak hours if you are hungry and want your food quickly. Overall absolutely wonderful, if a little more than I'd like to spend on ramen, but it's definitely worth it

Absolutely amazing ramen! Best flavor ever! Huge portion. Best in Nashville ... highly recommend

For the table, we ordered the nachos (didn't add chicken) and surprisingly it was pretty good! I would have liked for the toppings to be spread out amongst the chips (once you get to the middle, bottom they were empty). For my drink, I decided to try their bridesmaid's tears and this drink was just ok. It watered down very easily and didn't really have much flavor. I ordered the catfish and subbed fries instead of the grits and it came with collard greens. This meal was ok but the catfish wasn't fried hard (as I requested) and the greens were too vinegar based. The fries, however, were good! The sauce they offered - crawfish cream sauce - was way too oily and didn't have good flavor. Would've preferred a tartar sauce, though. Overall, the spot was ok. It had its hits and misses!

We had read somewhere that Acme Feed & Seed (in an historic 1890 building) offered a quieter alternative. We gathered around a nice table near the stage on the first floor, and maybe there were a dozen other people there? Yet, on the next Broadway block things were in full swing? We weren't complaining, but wondered why? The first floor at Acme has been described as a high-energy "Funky Tonk" atmosphere featuring a main stage for live music, a large bar, and fast-casual dining. Our band during our stage was even a little different than that, and what an enjoyable group is was! The Mudbug Stompers brought us the sounds of old-time jug bands, Dixieland jazz, blues, trains, baseball, and crawfish boils. Although this is a Nashville Band, we could have easy been on or around Bourbon Street in NOLA. I was particularly impressed with the trumpet player and the lead singer who played a mean mandolin. Add the string base, sax, and fiddle, and we experienced a very impressive whole. We were highly entertained and engaged, and we're still talking about the experience!

She was so happy to have found a place that…read moreserved Chong Qing Broth and Sliced Noodles which she missed from her undergraduate years in Hawaii. It was an interesting restaurant as we walked in. The decor didn't come across as Chinese. I'm glad my daughter was familiar with the place because I would not have known to go to the back counter to order. I tried asking a couple things about the menu but could not understand the worker that well. It seemed that he couldn't understand me either because he initially put in the wrong orders -- my daughter caught it before we paid. Very reasonable prices. I ordered the Roast Duck Noodles with the Marinated Egg added. My daughter got her usual "Build a Bowl" of Chong Qing Broth, Sliced Noodles, Steak and Fried Egg. I thought I had ordered a Shrimp Wonton appetizer, but a bowl of soup arrived. After asking the worker about it, he just kept saying it was soup (I know), so I just left that alone. Overall quite delicious -- very authentic Chinese flavors. Excellent house made noodles. The depth of flavor in the broths was fantastic. The proteins were seasoned nicely and cooked well. The bok choy in my soup still had a nice bite. The fried egg was crispy on the edges and perfectly runny in the middle. Unfortunately, I found the marinated egg too salty. Service was minimal -- after ordering, the food comes out and that's it. If you need something, you have to get up to ask. No one checks in. The area wasn't busy when we arrived, so parking was very easy right in front. I'm told it does get tough during peak times. I would definitely return for the food, not the service.
