Had a great experience here! Went 2x while on the island and highly rec if you're craving eggs and pancakes! I tried both the blueberry and buttermilk pancake and both were light and delicious. The blueberry one was super special with the sweet bitterness of the blueberries really put these over the top! The egg white veggie scramble was perfectly seasoned and just overall very delicious. The scramble also came up with a side + oatmeal toast which is lovely touch. Service was speedy and attentive. Very good wait staff! Loved sitting at the counter too. PS! I do want to mention this breakfast spot is very pricey but the portion sizes are large. Most spots on the island are expensive so it's not surprising but definitely steep.

Great little place for a home cooked vibe. Attentive staff, tastey meal! There can be a wait sometimes, but India street is not a bad place to if one has to wait.

Really great and affordable brunch on the island with some pretty unique offerings! Surprised by the low ish ratings so hoping to boost. BES was recommended to us by a friend who really enjoyed their spicy thai curry scramble so of course we got it. The curry was definitely on the lighter/subtle side and wasn't all that spicy - could've used a stronger kick but still tasty overall. We also had the breakfast sandwich which came out piping hot but was so good and fresh. The sauce was delicious. The sides of hash brown were so incredibly light, airy and fresh. They didn't leave us feeling heavy and were just perfect. We also had to try a side of linguica as we don't typically see those on brunch menus and they went so well with the hash brown. There was maybe a 15-20 min wait on a Sunday morning but our server was so sweet. We were pleasantly surprised by this meal and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic breakfast! Wonderful menu and excellent service. Comfort food in diner style. Maryellen was a wonderful waitress and added to our great experience! Worth the wait (if line is long)

Our Server Jo was a sweetie and very patient with our group of 6. It was restaurant week in Nantucket and we made reservations for outside since COVID is now making a comeback. There were about 5 appetizers to choose from and about 6 entrees and then 1 dessert choice. I went with my sisters - two of whom are VERY picky eaters, one of them could not find any appetizer she would eat, and only one entree. But again she eats like a toddler, and no onions, no cheese, no ingredient she has never heard of, etc, etc. She did find an entree she liked (thank goodness). I had the squash hushpuppies which were delish, served nice and hot outta the fryer. My entree was the pork served over lentils..the Pork was fall apart tender - and there was a little but of spice to it. The portion was huge and I got to take 1/2 of it home. I do wish there was more than one dessert option, though the one they had was indeed tasty - it was like a chess pie. What I really loved about it was that they really had the salt to sweet ratio on point!

Best hangover cure. Cured my chicken box blues. Thank god for these pancakes... EVEN MORE... thank god for the hash browns, they were a godsend. Dousing the pancakes in syrup and the melted butter is actually heaven on earth and everyone must eat here. Currently mouth watering thinking about it.

A wonderful breakfast find near downtown. While on a business trip my colleague and I read good reviews on Yelp about the wonderful experience of Yelpers at this establishment. I'm pleased to report that we are adding our experience to the growing list. While we waited a long time (45 minutes) after being told it would be thirty minutes we finally were seated inside at a two person table. The serving staff was prompt and quickly brought us water while we reviewed the menu. Megan ordered the huevos rancheros and I got the vegetable scramble with tofu. We heard about their delicious pancakes so we ordered one with whipped butter and maple syrup on the side. I'm so glad that we did. It's was a perfect compliment to an excellent meal. I do highly recommend adding the pico de gallo to the tofu scramble meal. It makes it extra yummy.

Been wanting to try this spot for a while right now because it's considered an island staple. Went on a whim and was wildly disappointed, overpriced and tasteless. Even the delivery was very unappetizing. Special looked good when delivered but didn't have much taste either, the risotto was good from the special. Hopefully breakfast is better. Service was great, just disappointed by the food.

Ordered all the apps. Amazing tuna tar tar. The chefs were amazing and friendly- we at the counter and chatted them up a bit. The decor and mood, the lighting, all top notch. Excellent food!

Home fries need to be spectacular to impress me, and these were truly out of this world. I could eat them every day! I have no complaints about anything on my plate. The scrambled eggs were perfectly prepared (I asked for them well-done) and of course the home fries were the star of the show. My latte was also very good, and these mug it was served in was so cute. I tried a bite of my friend's chocolate chip waffle, which was recommended to us by a coworker who said it was the best on the island. I can't say I have tried any other waffles on the island, but this one was quite delicious and it would be difficult to top it. Even though it was busy late on Saturday morning, my party of two was seated right away. Sure, you're sitting close to the people next to you, but I do not mind. The place is well-decorated and has a pleasantly clean vibe about it. I am looking forward to trying dinner here as well in the near future!

A great breakfast. Old school. Diner-style grill restaurant. Everything was made to order and they offered very good and complicated breakfasts: avocados, lobster, and poached this that and the other. We heard about the doughnuts. Never had one. In September of '24 the Inky reported that the Downyflake was to permanently close. So we made a day trip just to try the doughnuts. In fact, we did this in October the weekend before they closed. Off of Straight Wharf, a taxi ride out, bought a few doughnuts, uber'ed back to town, got some coffee from The Hub, and walked and sat on our bench on Easy Street over looking the Wharf Rat Club. Heaven. Everyone should experience Nantucket. I will say, we were lucky and happy to experience the doughnuts. The doughnuts, yes, are still sticking to my ribs a year later. More oil than the Exxon Valdez. We will miss you old friend. Even though the rumor is a new one will open... someday.

My sister who has lived on ACK for 30+ years loves their doughnuts - and yes they are VERY good. My favs are the chocolate frosted and the apple cider (in season). These really are small doughnuts - so you can eat 2 without too much guilt. I was craving some linguica sausage - I grew up eating it on pizzas and breakfast sandwiches in the summer in New Beford, MA. I saw that the menu had breakfast sandwiches (with your choice of meat) - Unfortunately they waitress informed me that linguica was not an option on this sandwich - which it really should be!. I opted for a side of the linguini and a english muffin to craft my own sandwich (AND - Bonus to save room for a doughnut or 2) It was tasty - but not the linguica of my childhood that oozed red grease, this one was pretty lean and more dense than I remember. I still ate every bite. The highlight was the doughnut dessert, these have not changed in 20 years.
