Great service and pretty good food, including a great kids menu! We did the 3 course tasting. The scallop to start topped with caviar in a corn sauce was INCREDIBLE. The lobster entree was a little overcooked and the chocolate cake dessert was a little disappointing but overall, not bad. The kids menu had more choices than usual and the kids we brought loved the handmade pasta with marinara as well as the ice cream. We took the ferry over from White Elephant where we were staying, which can be booked with the hotel front desk or by calling the restaurant. You can order drinks on the ferry (they don't allow kids). They looked fully booked on resy but when we called, they had plenty of availability and were able to get a same day reservation for a party of 6. They also have a shuttle which takes 25 min that takes you back to white elephant every hour on the half hour (and the ferry which takes 50 min every hour on the hour). Overall, we had a great experience here!

Such a fun activity while on Nantucket! Take the boat over to Topper's from White Elephant for incredible views before and after your meal. We had reservations on the patio during a beautiful day and it couldn't have been better. Our meals were both delicious and our server, AJ, was prompt and polite.

The food is incredible, the the staff is fantastic. The maître D is the most genuine and attentive host with true hospitality. It was an absolute pleasure to be there, I don't think I've ever had a better experience at a restaurant ever. The ambience is exquisite it exudes class

Highly recommend eating at toppers, especially if you're staying at the Wauwinet. The room service meal was just as great as the one I had when I ate at the restaurant. The staff is amazing as well!

Topper's was lovely. We dined right after sunset on the deck. The views were spectacular. We ordered Nantucket oysters, burger, and the halibut. The oysters were allegedly caught in the waters outside the hotel (which I believed, because they were very small). But still good nonetheless. The halibut and the burger were great. Our waitress was very nice. For island prices, on the deck, it was more upscale but not unreasonable.. We had a great time, would recommend.

Always an amazing experience. There is a boat 'shuttle' that if you can make a reservation for, takes you from the White Elephant in town out to the Wauwinet. This is an absolutely amazing experience. Lunch and a boat ride across the sound? Absolutely yes. We had reservations for the boat ride, but unfortunately the weather was not cooperating so we let Toppers know we would just be driving out. The attentive hostesses and patient waiter were so fabulous during our lunch. Halfway through there was a bit of a sprinkle so the hostess immediately came over to offer us a seat inside. We declined since the rain didn't feel like it would last and the umbrellas were shielding us nicely. I wish I had gotten more pictures of the food, because while it is not cheap, it is absolutely worth it. The tarte flambé was the perfect combo of cheese and flavor. The lobster roll was stuffed full of lobster and enough for two meals. Very much of note: Toppers had a good selection of zero proof alcohols so they can make any of their cocktails non-alcoholic which was amazing. Definitely put this on your hot spot for your next Nantucket visit.

Came here for lunch as I wanted to see what Toppers was all about since its touted as one of the best restaurants on the island. It's a trek (~20 minutes?) from main part of the island if you're not taking a boat from the White Elephant. As expected, the prices are high. My sandwich was $35, didn't come with fries, and my glass of wine was $25. Sat out on the deck, which was still enclosed since its not quite summer yet. If you were expecting to have waterfront views, you won't get any from their deck or patio as the restaurant is tucked away on the side and the waterfront is reserved for hotel guests ability to sunbathe on a little crest that is elevated higher than the restaurant. Disappointing. Read about service complaints, but my server was on point. Extremely timely on everything, but the patio only had about 4 tables. The meal started with some "free" bread. One was a cheese bread and the other a sweeter bread with raisins. The provided butter was great on the raisin bread. Well churned and soft. I ended up trying the most interesting thing on the menu, the Halibut Katsu sandwich. It is supposedly new for 2024. It came with egg salad, slaw and a jalapeno-yuzu tartar sauce. TBH, it was rather flavorless. I liked the mouthful and texture of the halibut. Expert crisp. That was done well, but the combination either needed more yuzu sauce. Perhaps try recreating some sort of tonkatu sauce to go with it instead. I ended up dressing it up with some fry sauce. Disappointing for the price. It came with a little mini salad. The fries were expertly cooked, so no complaints with those and the server did a fine job suggesting the wine to go with the halibut. Overall, great service, but this was probably the least memorable and flavorless meal I had the whole trip. Unfortunate.

How is this a Billionaire's Bar?!?
    Sara Z.

We were staying at the Wauwinet and wanted dessert after dinner elsewhere. We came a little on the late side but were seated outside under a heat lamp. We ordered the billionaire's bar and the baklava cheesecake. I'm all for pastry chefs having creative license to make unique desserts, but the menu needs to accurate describe those unique desserts. The billionaire's bar was described as a shortbread layer with chocolate and caramel layers, but it was not that AT ALL. There was 0 chocolate, 0 shortbread, and the only caramel was on the ice cream. The dessert was bar-shaped, but it was coated in a clear shell and the bottom tasted almost like white chocolate, so not at all what we expected. The ice cream was rich and tasty but didn't really taste good with the "bar." The baklava cheesecake was very well executed and well made, but the flavors didn't really go together. The baklava is a little too crunchy and the orange-rose syrup was a little too sweet with the tangy cheesecake for my taste. I also found that it was expensive for just dessert, especially ones that were not great.

This place is so cute. It's located in this very cute inn/hotel. A very lively crowd a lot seemed to be happening. More than the food, this place has the most stunning views and incredible view of the sunset. If anything, come here for a drink, and watch the sunset. We did end up staying for dinner also. We got oysters and the special which was a lobster pasta. Both were very good and extremely fresh. I polished off the lobster pasta, it was rich but you could tell all the seafood was really local and super fresh. It's quite the experience, so if you're around this part of Nantucket, I would recommend going to least see the views.

    Endive salad with lobster.

Highly recommended and worth the trip! The restaurant was fully booked for lunch and dinner so we opted for breakfast. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly manicured property in a seclude private part of the island with a boat that takes you into town. The food was top notch even though it was just breakfast. After your meal, take a walk to the dock/beach.

This former New Yorker and…read moreMomofuku Ssam Bar alum draws from culinary traditions of every sort, from Mexican and Caribbean, to Korean and Thai. Perhaps in reflection of his New York City roots, all these varied culinary cultures are thrown into the same kitchen, tossed together with abandon, and sprinkled with some Chef Rojas magic, resulting in some of the most interesting, intelligent flavors you can find on Nantucket. The current menu includes dishes like Taiwanese fried prawns, duck wontons and street corn strips with miso aioli, cotija and furikake, which play alongside ingredients like kimchi, water chestnuts, and curtido! Perhaps not surprisingly, given Chef Rojas's Momofuku pedigree, the dinner menu features Korean Barbecue Pork, a large-format family meal that closely resembles Chef David Chang's famous bo ssäm, a slow-roasted, sugar-and-salt-cured whole pork shoulder. KOREAN PORK BBQ ($170; sushi rice - cucumber kimchi - korean bbq sauce - ginger scallion sauce - bibb lettuce wraps) allegedly feeds four to six people. Given the small dent that the four of us made in the dish, even with a few growth-spurting ravenous eaters, the dish could probably feed eight hungry adults. Be prepared for leftovers and meal plan accordingly! At a more recent Sunday brunch, we had the wonderfully culturally ambiguous TUNA TOSTADA ($27; pickled jicama - aji amarillo - charred cipollini & sesame puree - shallot). It was a bit Mexican, a bit Peruvian, a bit East Asian -- and a lot delicious. I'm one of those people who don't get all the hoopla over AVOCADO TOAST, but the Progeny seem to be on the bandwagon. The version served at or, The Whale ($22; cherry tomato - fried egg - everything bagel spice on toasted sourdough) might just win me over. Excellent, ripe sliced avocados came topped with a sunny-side-up egg, lots of tender microgreens, and slightly pan-seared sweet cherry tomatoes. The EGGS BENEDICT ($26; choice of country ham or smoked salmon - poached eggs - house biscuit - hollandaise) were classic and well made with perfectly runny yolk and super rich, buttery hollandaise sauce. But the most delicious thing on the plate was the side of hash browns, a generous slab that was beautifully browned to a crisp on the outside. Cocktails are delicious, though a touch wimpy by our lush standards. Predictably, I'm fond of the entertainingly named UNCLE BAD NEWS ($17; jalapeño-infused tequila, passionfruit, lime) since I'm a sucker for any cocktail with jalapeño as an ingredient.

You prep your own tacos with all the fillings. This was our favorite and we enjoyed the unique concept to use duck! It was an expensive meal but worth it! Service was great. A great breakfast. Old school. Diner-style grill restaurant. In September of '24 the Inky reported that the Downyflake was to permanently close. So we made a day trip just to try the doughnuts. In fact, we did this in October the weekend before they closed. Off of Straight Wharf, a taxi ride out, bought a few doughnuts, uber'ed back to town, got some coffee from The Hub, and walked and sat on our bench on Easy Street over looking the Wharf Rat Club. Heaven. Everyone should experience Nantucket. I will say, we were lucky and happy to experience the doughnuts. The doughnuts, yes, are still sticking to my ribs a year later. As our beautiful (and possibly Persian-American) server explained, this tea is a symbol of welcome in Persian culture. You hold a bit of rock sugar in your mouth as you drink your tea, allowing the sugar to dissolve slowly, and follow it all up with a bite of sweet date. It's a beautiful act of cultural sharing and hospitality that nourishes one on so many different levels. Food at Lemon Press is meant to be shared. There is a section of dishes "for the table" that comfortably feed two. And there are small plates and sides that are meant to accompany. We chose two small plates and two large plates, which was plenty of food for our group of four. The ROASTED CHARRED CAULIFLOWER ($23; almonds, brown butter, golden raisin, caramelized cauliflower foam, crispy kale) small plate was nothing short of phenomenal. There were wonderful textural contrasts: crisp kale; firm, but yielding slivers of almonds; tiny, tender cauliflower florets. There was fragrant brown butter and delicately sweet, caramelized cauliflower foam. We have had some very, very good cauliflower preparations in our lives, including Balaboosta's fried cauliflower with currants and pine nuts, Miznon's whole roasted cauliflower with sel gris (even better with tahini sauce), and creamy roasted cauliflower soup (my favorite recipe to make at home). But Lemon Press's roasted charred version was, we all agreed, probably the best preparation of cauliflower we can remember having, something that would not be at all out of place at Eleven Madison Park. Our other small plate, a northern Iranian dish called MIRZA GHASSEMI ($19; smoked eggplant, tomato, garlic, turmeric, egg, barbari bread), was also well made, a well executed traditional preparation. It was creamy, rich, nourishing, with all the hallmarks of a perfect comfort food. The Progeny thought it was too strongly flavored to eat by itself, but it paired perfectly with golden-crusted, sesame-flecked barbari bread. We found our small plates to be stronger than our larger, shared plates. They were sadly out of the duck fesenjoon on our visit. (I'd been looking forward to trying this dish since our visit earlier in the summer.) In its place, we ordered the SHORT RIBS & CHIPS ($54; house salad, za'atar fries). Flavors were vibrant, the meat glazed with something sweet and salty -- but the flanken-cut short ribs were largely fat and gristle. The salad was wonderfully fresh, the fries crisp. The KHORESHT GHORMEH SABZI ($54; lamb shoulder, burnt herbs, red kidney beans, dried lime, tahdig) was a traditional northern style, made with slow-cooked tender lamb; spinach and not just herbs, I think; and the unmistakable sour/bitter/umami flavor of limu omani (dried lime). There was a pretty circle of tahdig (sort of the equivalent of socarrat) and saffron rice to accompany. The Fambly noted the strong resemblance to north Indian saag gosht -- no surprise given the strong historical influence of Persian culture in north India, both through Persianized Mughal invaders and Nader Shah's later invasion. The amchoor (green mango powder) used in saag gosht even somewhat recalls limu omani. We declined dessert, since we had to get back to the pup -- but the check came with four lovely macaroons, served on coffee beans, another gracious touch. We have become so very enamoured with Lemon Press over their years. Cousins and co-owners Darya Afshari Gault and Rachel Afshari have brought in the talented South African chef Lyall Frosler, who beautifully executes Persian, Persian-influenced, and non-Persian dishes. They've honed a deep sense of hospitality, rooted in a very ancient, very beautiful culture. We feel so lucky and grateful to have this food on Nantucket!
