They wanted to fix it for me but I chose Black Forest since I read great reviews, they were recommended to me by a friend, and I wanted the work done properly and not rushed. I had my car repaired there in mid December. They took care of everything, even coordinating with Enterprise for my rental. Michelle, Brian & Cooper were welcoming, empathetic, kind & super professional. I got my car back in 1 week, ithe day after Christmas. They do stellar work. Someone backed up into my car in a parking lot on vacation, denting the quarter panels, fortunately all cosmetic damage but required careful repair. I was referred to Black Forest by a trusted Subaru service manager and it was also fortunate they are a Geico Express Shop which made things easier. While Geico's bureaucracy was not particularly a pleasure to deal with, the folks at Black Forest were terrific and did all the could to expedite that side of the process and helped me navigate that tedious aspect. The owner, Brian, is really passionate about his business and a good guy. His trusty dog Cooper told me he's a good guy : ) Michele was outstanding; super communicative and incredibly knowledgeable. Really important as my 16 year old car is a bit of a unicorn and a collectible with super low miles, albeit not a particularly high value car. They were careful with the tricky factory paint match- black with an underlying metallic in green, silver and blue. Michele understood my attachment to the car and noted the unique engine that it had. So I like dealing with people who "get it" and show respect for others personal interests/property. I traveled a distance to work with Black Forest they were by no means means local to me. That's why as an independent business they've apparently been around for a while. I like to support that. Some small details/adjustments needed to be tended to afterward; they were handled promptly while I waited. The work overall was exceptional ! My review is about the integrity of the owner, Brian. I was in an accident in which all the air bags were deployed but the damage to the car's exterior was modest. My car was towed to Black Forest Auto and Brian evaluated the damage. The exterior would have been relatively easy to fix but Brian felt that it would be difficult to reset the air bags which might not work as well in the future. In stead of taking the job and and the significant payment, he told the adjuster that he felt the car should be totaled rather than possibly compromise my safety. My car was labeled as totaled and I bought a new car. If Brian says he can fix your car, you can trust his analysis. read more

I took my Jeep here for repairs after getting rear- ended. The guys here are so nice, polite, and friendly. They really made me feel welcome- which is not easy to do since I'm a quiet, 20- something female who knows nothing about cars. But they were very helpful and took care of me from start to finish. Their repairs exceeded my expectations and they even touched up a scratch on my front bumper free of charge that was not related to the accident. Aside from the repairs, they did an awesome job detailing the car. Even though I wasn't being charged for the services (I was not at fault in the accident) I was very satisfied with the service I received. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We brought our new car in after a minor fender bender. From the moment we dropped it off to the moment we picked it up, we knew that our car was in the best hands. Since they are affiliated with Geico Repair Express, we dropped off our car at the shop and were met there by the rental car agency to pick up our rental. The convenience of that alone was amazing. Brian is the best. I recently got into a car accident in Glen cove, not only did he put me at ease he made the entire process go smoothly. Within minutes he helped me with the painful process of calling the insurance company (would never have known what to do without him) and a car rental was at his place within minutes. I went to Black Forest to get my car detailed and they did an amazing job. It only took about a day and they were very accommodating with their schedule. They were able to get all the scratches off my car and now my car looks like new. Although it has been a few weeks since, it still looks great. Black Forest Auto Works is unreliable. They set up an appointment with me, when I went to drop off my car, he told me that he can't take it. He had too many cars and didn't have time. This is AFTER I set up an appointment 10 days prior. Absolutely ridiculous. I would never recommend anyone to use this business. read more

These guys did a very nice job getting the dings, scapes and dents out of my Mom's Mercedes ML350. The car had no hideous defects, just a bunch of the kind of war wounds that one gets driving all over suburbia every day. They used to be one of the (if not just "the") auto body shops used by the big local Mercedes dealer, which is a testament to their quality. The dealer however decided to open its own off-premises body shop a few years ago and thus took away a bunch of their business. I thought the price that they quoted for the work was significant, but the car owner/mother was determined to use these guys because of their reputation for quality and sense that they would treat her right. When the car came back, there's no question that they put a lot of work in to make it really look good. It appears that they repainted several sections, although it is hard to tell because there is no obvious difference in paint color or texture. I don't know what they did to get the dings and scrapes out of the bumper, but they did. If you didn't know it was a six year old car, you would think it was much, much newer. The exterior is essentially-flawless, at least to my eye. The bottom line is that the car owner paid for the best-quality work and appears to have received it. read more
