Worst curry I've had in my life and I genuinely didn't come in with high expectations. Calling it bland would be a compliment

A solid Asian Fusion option with a few quirks! My first visit to Black Ginger left me impressed, but at the same time a bit confused. The place is nicely done, very clean, comfortable seating, and quite large inside! Upon walking in there was nobody there to seat you. There was one server working the five occupied booths, and one guy working behind the bar making sushi. The place was practically dead at 6pm! The Wonton Soup was incredibly good with what I'm assuming was house made dumplings and a fantastic broth! The Mongolian Beef was really tasty with a smoky flavor and a side of sticky white rice! Very good but overpriced for the portion size. The Double Decker Roll was superb! Spicy tuna topped with avocado, more tuna, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. Excellent indeed! I certainly was impressed with Black Ginger, but also found it odd that literally two employees were working, had to seat myself, and that the prices were a bit much for the sizes. read more

I ordered take out for lunch. I ordered the firecracker roll and crab Rangoon. It came out to a little over 20 dollars. The food was good but it was so small of a portion that there is no way I can justify eating here ever again. I would go to us sushi or Shinko first -their rolls are much bigger. read more

I discovered this place this past week and honestly, it's not a bad place to dine if you're looking for a quiet experience. They offer a variety of dishes from noodle dishes, sushi, and fried rice, as well as alcohol such as Sake. If you order more than 3 sushi rolls, it will come in a wooden bridge which is great for pictures. Our server was also amazing. read more

First time trying out Black Ginger today after a couple of people have mentioned it to me. It met all expectations. Delicious, fresh, and definitely hit the spot. My table had the Sexy Belly Salmon roll, Greensboro Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Philly Roll, Chicken Hibachi Stir Fry (with fried rice) and the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. Everything was so good! I probably wouldn't get the Bang Bang Shrimp app again. It was tasty, don't get me wrong, but just ok compared to other items. Greensboro roll was definitely my favorite and now I can't wait to try others that Black Ginger have to offer! Service was exceptional and even made certain situations better when one has an almost 2 year old niece with them. I liked that it had options for my daughters that don't like sushi. My wife has a shellfish allergy and despite telling the staff she had some cross contamination and ended up ill later in the evening and the teriyaki sauce is very brown sugar heavy. It could use a bit less. Now the SUSHI- i particularly enjoyed the double tuna. I thought the crunchy dragon was disappointing. My son ordered just a california roll. He said it was good but for the price I'd go somewhere else to get sushi. read more

I got a red curry with tofu and it is the best red curry I've ever had. The sushi was also very good.

The food is delicious but the portions are very small. Maybe if you eat like a bird you could fill yourself up but I got a appetizer, sushi and my gf shared the appetizer with me and got hibachi. Neither one of us are full. For reference I am 5'0 116lbs and she is 5'5 127lbs... ridiculous. I should have taken pictures but it skipped my mind. We can really relate to Shanelle C.'s comments especially as to "chill vibes," and "attitude." Mylayah C.'s experience was unconscionable. I believe we all had the same waiter, "Shine." Yes, that's what he says his name is. There were two good waiters there before but the owner ran them off. Our last visit: If you are looking for a warm, accommodating, genuine service restaurant, avoid this place. What "Shine" WILL do is make it clear that you have interrupted his day. The hostess was VERY rude, laughed in our faces when we asked for a refund (after not liking the teriyaki chicken we ordered), then said "I understand you can't afford it". DO NOT GO HERE. Excellent Japanese restaurant with a nice selection of sushi and Bento boxes. Stopped in for lunch and sampled the hibachi chicken bento box. It was a very generous offering at a really good price. Everything was very fresh. I'm looking forward to going for dinner and trying their sushi. read more

Meh. I'll start with the positive: my son enjoyed his orange chicken. My sushi was plated nicely. Our server was very pleasant. There were lovely avocados in the house salad. Critiques: clear mushroom soup was barely lukewarm and filled with the raw white parts of a green onion rather than the mild green parts that had been allowed to mellow in a hot soup. Therefore the soup left a strong and unpleasant onion taste. The ginger salad dressing was much thinner and sweeter than what I'm used to. They were out of the peanut dressing so we could not try that. My spicy tuna was not great. It had no spicy mayo and no discernible seasoning on the tuna. There were a few artful dots of red sauce on the edge of the plate. Perhaps that was the spicy? Tuna tasted fishy and had a pasty consistency. No need to go back. I'll stick to Toshis and Sushi Republic. read more

Decided to try out the new Asian fusion sushi restaurant. I started off with shrimp dumplings, they are one of my favorite things to eat. They were good! I also ordered the beef red curry, that was a spectacular dish. There was a vibrant punch of flavor and the meat was of good quality. The sushi here is the thing to get, they were exquisite, well crafted with the right amount of ingredients and they do not fall apart when you try to pick them up. The service was great, though the entrees took a little longer than usual. I would have to come back and try some other dishes. read more

Horrible, servers don't know what cuisines they serve - they don't know what dishes on their menu are Thai, Chinese, or Japanese. Service slow, and food horrendous - ordered multiple dishes to try their food ...between Chinese kung pao, Japanese bento, tepanyaki, Thai red curry, ...each one of them tasted the same ...and bland. We left our food as we ordered it ...also the sushi and sashimi platters They did take off two items of our bill - the rest they didn't, nor did we ask for it. Do NOT go here unless this is the last place open and the world has FALLEN. They were so rude to me and it was my very first time coming here. I ordered some sushi but wasn't aware that it was raw. Literally NOWHERE on the menu do they have a "cooked sushi" section or even a symbol to clarify which are raw and which aren't. I politely asked if they could change my order for a cooked sushi and even offered to pay them to fry it if they couldn't replace it. The lady was SUPER rude to me about it so I asked another gentleman there for help. He was very calm and welcoming to assist me. He offered to replace the sushi with a cooked one and was very understanding about it. She proceeded to yell at him in their language angrily which caused a quick and heated argument. She had her husband or whomever come to yell at me and tell me "all sushi is cooked you should have known that (which is FALSE) and once you get your order I don't care if it's wrong don't come back" I asked for a refund at this point and was refused one. They made my sushi but I wouldn't doubt if she SPIT in it so I won't be eating it. I will NEVER come back or recommend this place to any person whatsoever. HORRIBLE experience over some basic sushi. This is going to be my go-to asian restaurant in town. The menu has a great selection to pick from. We have sushi and sashimi sampler.... oh boy the best boat of sushi and sashimi i had. You can tell they prioritize on quality! We also have house fried rice, pad thai, and calamari. They are not stingy with their food. They put a good proportion of meat and seafood in their food. Black Ginger was okay. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't amazing. The customer service was fair. Our waitress was new, so she wasn't too familiar with the menu. We ordered a Thai tea, but we had to return it. It wasn't up to the standard we are use to drinking. The steak bento box was delicious and packed with a good flavor profile. My daughter enjoyed her kids meal , which was the teriyaki salmon. The portions were generous. I am not sure if we will return, but it's nice to have them located there. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place tonight. Our friends recommended this place and we loved it! Our server, Andre, was really nice and helpful. We came in at 8:30 tonight which we felt bad for because they close at 9 on Sundays. However, we still got great service! We ordered a lot and everything was fast and delicious! We even got free mochi ice cream to go because we checked in on here! The only con was my boyfriend 's hibachi had lots of onions but he said it was still delicious! Always enjoy the food here. I've tried several rolls and the hibachi and was always satisfied after leaving here.

Very nice place inside, they have a variety of dishes from different Asian countries. Sushi menu is extensive but I have not explored it on my two visits. Last visit was for lunch and I had the salmon bento box, all was good even though the salmon was not as large as I would have liked. Total meal filled me up though. Teriaki is not my fave and theirs was way too sweet for me but I could eat it. Overall meal was good and I will continue to return. read more

Sushi is good but the rolls are small. It's a little pricey for the amount of food you're actually getting. Decor is nice though.

It's very tasty but my issue is with our order from the kids menu. This does not look like something my 5 year old would touch! We went for dinner and really enjoyed it! Quiet atmosphere, super nice staff, delicious food. We had Surja as our server and he took the time to make chopsticks my son could use without us asking!
