Great burgers. Nice place for an after show dinner. Came here cause we were craving a burger after a show. Super close to the theaters and time square. The location is long and narrow with a bar area and probably 15 tables. The place was pretty busy due to the world cup games but we managed to get a table for 4 after about a 15 min wait. On issue we had was that the TV coverage wasn't great. We sat at a table and only half of us could see a TV. Ordered burgers, shake, onion rings. The truffle mushroom burger hit the spot for me. Perfectly done meat with a nice taste from the truffle mayo. The bacon bits on the burger were probably overkill though. The onion rings were not soggy and paired well with the ranch. Others at the table enjoyed the basic black iron burger. The shakes were a bit disappointing. They were basically liquid with no thickness to their consistency. Overall, a good place for food before or after a show. If you want to go watch sports YMMV.

We stopped by for a quick bite before a Friday night Broadway show at 6pm. The restaurant was pretty packed with diners so we were seated all the way in the back. Waters came quickly and we were able to order the Black Iron and Mushroom Truffle Burgers. For the $17 price tag, we were expecting a much larger burger or for it to come with a small side. Unfortunately there wasn't such a combo and fries had to be ordered on the side for an extra $5.50-9.50 depending on the type. Thankfully the burgers came out quickly and we were able to enjoy them before our show. The mushroom truffle burger could have used more mushrooms but the burger was seasoned and cooked well. The black iron burger had two beef patties so it was a bit more substantial. The patties were also cooked well but was underwhelming Overall, we were satisfied with our bugers but there was something lacking with the burgers here. There are tons of other burger joints that can also serve a great burger with sides included for the price.

Nice dinner, loved our burgers. Rings and fries were excellent. Chips and salsa appetizer was sad and came out after our burgers. Could have skipped those. Service was quick friendly and good. Auto charged us a "large party gratuity" even though we were just a table of four. Their auto gratuity of 18% is less than we normally tip, so her loss. But heads up to other small parties to check before tipping.

The food is excellent and would rate a five for the burger and loaded fries. The service from Kimberly was not very good. One item we ordered we did not get, one item a shake came very late in our meal and we had to ask where it was. The initial drink service was slow, one drink came out fast the others were way behind. The burgers were excellent, we had build your own and the caramelized onions are very good and the taste of the beef hamburger was worth the price. The loaded fries were very good and served hot. The inside is a sports bar atmosphere with many tv's. Top shelf burgers in a very casual setting.

A very average burger, not bad, not great, but a little on the pricey and small side. Came backvhere after nearly a decade after my first time trying this place, the first time i came I thought the burgers were magical, this time not so much. Cant tell if its because the quality of this place has taken a dip or if my palete has changed, but either way a very average burger

I was staying in the hotel basically next door. I thought it would rude not to sample a burger as I was so close location wise. I had the Black iron Burger. I really enjoyed the marmalade onions. The patties were very juicy. Service was Swift and fast.

I went in Jan really rather ravenous and it hit the spot. I got the mushroom truffle burger if I remember right, quite tasty. The onion rings are different than I've had elsewhere--very thin & crispy but I enjoyed them (you definitely have to eat them hot & fresh though, don't think it would keep well). Washed it all down with a milkshake, which was decent. The service was friendly and they were helpful when I asked for suggestions. Casual bar-like atmosphere. I would go again if I was nearby & craving a burger.

Black Iron Burger on a weekday afternoon met the moment on many levels. Located not far from Columbus Circle, this burger joint is quite spacious and inviting. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a kind gentleman who welcomed me and seated me in my preferred area. My seating was quickly followed by another waiter/bartender who took my order and checked back frequently to ensure my satisfaction with the food and service. Seeing as I was passing through and did a quick Google search for the best and closest burger joints in my area, I didn't spend too much time laboring over the extensive options. I went with what I knew, which was a classic American burger, which didn't disappoint. That said, perhaps the best part of my meal was the loaded sweet potato fries; Epic! All in all, I would recommend the Black Iron Burger. My long-standing ritual is to have a burger only once a month, and Black Iron Burger is now one of my go-to options.

Quick but poor service - maybe since we were seated in the back? Bathrooms were very subpar and unclean with heavy smells. For a best burger and zagat rated joint - was very disappointing. Maybe since we didn't venture to the more exciting or decorative burgers but shouldn't their classic burgers be just as good or decent? The best thing there was the strawberry milkshake and fries (not saying much). IWas surprised how easy it was to get a reservation on New Years Eve and got a table for 6. We all really enjoyed our burgers. U got the Midnight Espresso Burger which was delicious, I wish they gave more sauce either on the burger or on the side (they charge extra for that). Nothing like dipping a burger in BBQ sauce . The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the place was lively with music and TVs all around to watch the games. Enjoy!

Was craving a solid burger and knew Black Iron Burger would hit the spot! I had ordered the truffle mushroom burger and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Cajun fries were well seasoned, but the onion rings for me didn't quite hit the spot. Not sure if it was the breading or what, but they're alright. Definitely a sports bar kind of vibe for a burger joint with quite a few TVs. Overall, it's a good place if you want a decent burger in the city

Yummy burger. Love the juciness of the patties and the sunny side egg. Only thing is I asked for medium and it was a bit medium rare but still a solid thicc burger.

Needed a place near Studio 54 for a show and walked in off the street. Great food and great service. Delicious burgers and sides, and finished off with a Nutella Brownie with ice cream for dessert. Definitely will come back!

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
