Tasty take out. I really enjoyed the crust. Got a mushrooms and peppers pizza, was delicious. Will be back soon. Staff on phone was really nice and patient when ordering.

Fantastic place for a quick bite! Stopped here grab some dinner while doing some laundry at the laundromat that is directly next door. There was only one waitress and she was very friendly. We were the only ones in the restaurant & our service was quick, but I can't speak to wait times during a rush. But I will say that the food was great! The portion sizes are large so we were able to take our leftovers for lunch the following day & they still were delicious.

This was my first time here. I have been driving by for quite some time. I decided to make this night, the night. My friend ordered a caprese sandwich. She wasn't impressed. I ordered the black point special pie. It piqued my curiosity. At first glance it looked amazing. It smelled amazing. When I finally took a bite of it, there was an explosion of flavor. I loved the garlic, I loved the calamari. The cherry peppers had a very faint flavoring on this pizza. The one spice that unpleasantly stood out was salt. The pizza was way too salty. I had asked the waitress if there's salt added to the food and she really couldn't be bothered. It's a shame; the location is cute, the wine selection was descent for a neighborhood spot. I feel that less salting of food would have made me bring my leftovers home and really want to revisit.

Black Point Pizza Eggplant Parmesan over penne pasta

Grazie Mino I was heading into town from Black Point for a quiet dinner alone. I hadn't been to Niantic in some time and while I was driving, I noticed Black Point Pizza next to the laundromat. I was tired and didn't feel like driving far. I was thinking, "Another pizza joint in Niantic." Oh well....I'll have a couple slices and head back for an early night. I'm so happy I stopped. This restaurant is so much more than just a pizza place. It's a great little restaurant that happens to have pizza on the menu. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Christine. She poured me a glass of montepulciano wine and a warm Italian dinner roll. I had the Chicken Marsala over penne pasta for dinner. Thin chicken cutlets sautéed with beautiful fresh mushrooms and just the right amount of marsala wine. Chef/owner Mino perfectly cooked my dinner. I completed the night with a delicious piece of tiramisu and a nice conversation with Christine. My wife and I tend to sit at the bar wherever we go because you always get the best service and conversations. My dinner experience was so good that I went back the following night. Once again, great wine, food, and conversations. This time I wanted something with sauce. Christine made a few suggestions, but highly recommended the eggplant Parmesan over penne pasta. Eggplant parm is one of my favorite dishes and Mino far exceeded my expectations. The eggplant was so tender and the sauce was incredible. Mino sat for a few minutes and we also had a nice conversation. I highly recommend going to Black Point Pizza. It's now my Go-To restaurant in Niantic. Italian food done right.

While browsing the menu, Anna came out to greet our party and ask if we had any questions with the menu- this is a kind of service that you don't usually expect nowadays. The food was outstanding and the waitstaff was attentive to our party throughout the event. The menu was eclectic and original and the presentation was out of this world. Everyone at the table got different things and we all left with clean plates. I think we all agreed that this was one of the best meals we've had. I understand that this was a unique event, but this was an amazing reflection of La Belle Aurore and the care that they put into food and atmosphere. I'd recommend to anyone looking for some awesome, unique food.

As a result we were able to taste a number of their starters, a real winner was the crab rangoon tart there. For dinner we ordered tasting sizes of the pasta alla vodka and beef bolognese. I really like the thoughtfulness of having smaller plates be an option, for whatever reason you want it for. Also, they used campanelle pasta, rather than your standard noodles. Some real awareness of the right pasta pairing for the sauce evidenced for you. The only quibble there was the lack of seasoning in the sauce, but there was salt on the table to bring that up. The service is wicked friendly and attentive. The ambiance is certainly bohemian, with mismatched furniture and faux foliage hanging from the ceiling. The biggest ding is accessibility. One of the people at the event was in a motorized chair, and in order for them to move about or get to the restroom was a production. The tables and chairs are tightly packed, so I'd imagine someone on crutches or a walker would also have difficulty of movement. The menu changes as local ingredients come in or out of season. The current menu is available on their website. It is not large, so you know they're doing a few things and doing them right. I can recommend checking this place out.

Making the reservation over the phone was easy and the individual I spoke to answered my questions and was very polite and pleasant. One of my questions was what happens if it we're to rain. I was told that I would not lose my reservation and that they would move us inside the covered patio. Fast forward: we parked in the Kokomo parking lot, handed our key over to the valet then walked steps to be seated. We did not wait long at all before we were greeted and seated. Here's where things got tricky. We were given instructions to scan a unique QR code that they provide and then we create an account, view the menu online then order our food and beverages. We were told that there would not be a wait staff taking our order. Sadly, many of the menu items were "sold out". I eat gluten free foods only so this proved a bit of a challenge. I thought I had placed our order but after waiting nearly an hour I asked a waitstaff to check my phone to see if I had placed the order correctly. I had not, however, the food arrived quickly once the order actually went through. My seared cod was cooked perfectly as were the asparagus and rice but sadly there was an over use of cayenne pepper which hyjacked the authentic taste of the cod and asparagus. We did not order dessert even though we would have loved to but it's difficult to order something that is not available. The view and atmosphere of the beach made up for the mishaps. The Resturant's beach, although fenced, seemed to attract beach goers to pass through which meant while eating dinner I had the pleasure to also watch nearly naked people walk by me... I mean bikini top that only covered a woman's nips. I kid you not. Awkward much? Not so much for me but perhaps for others. The valet had gone missing when we went to get out car fab to leave. So we waited patiently for about 10 to 15 minutes for him to appear on a golf cart before we walked steps to our car. I would recommend Kokomo Restaurant for the experience of dinning on the beach in CT but that's about it. This restaurant has great potentia! Do better Kokomo! I'm rooting for you!

The waiter was kind, but took a long time to greet us initially and then it took a really long time to get our food. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our food, and everything was lukewarm warm at warmest. We ordered a lobster roll and a lobster bomb, both which we were really excited about- both which were unfortunately lacking flavor and were fine at best. My espresso martini was very tasty and drinks were good overall, but the food was very disappointing especially for the price. We came here 2 years ago and had an AMAZING experience and were so excited to be back, and we left very disappointed. I hope they take these reviews and make the necessary changes to get back to the great experience they once were.

I prefer visiting during the warmer months, because it gives you the option of eating outside. I find the interior to be too dark and the tables are often found sticky. The food is decent and the portion sizes are good. The sides are basic. Definitely pick the sweet potato fries if you have any doubts. My son insists that the regular fries need more salt to even taste ok. The service has always been a little slow but when the food comes out, they always have plenty of help getting it to the table. Because it's a fixture to a town I love, I'm sure I'll be back.
