This coffee shop has the friendliest barista you will ever encounter! pleasant tone voice, polite and just exudes kindness! this was a lovely start of the visit. aside from that, we had very delicious coffee. Hubster's oatmilk latte was perfect. Im also not a "fruity" syrup lover but their White Chocolate Raspberry latte special was a nice treat! Inside has a nice cozy seating with both regular tables and bar chairs by the window. There are also a few seatings outdoors. love that we got a free drink when we brought a box of their coffee beans! thank you for the wonderful visit. read more

This was one of my fav coffee shops during my trip to Manhattan. We were heading to Central Park but wanted to grab coffee first so we found Black Press Coffee. I wanted a caramel macchiato but they couldn't make it so he recommended a caramel latte which was absolutely delicious. I ordered it with oat milk so there was a nutty flavor to it but the coffee was so smooth and not overly sweet. I also got the cream cheese pastry. I would've thought this was a bakery shop because the pastry was so flaky and airy. One of the best pastries I've had in a while. They have limited indoor seating and some outdoor seating. It's a dog-friendly location! Service is definitely top notch & also their tote bags are so affordable and such good quality!! read more

Tiny coffee shop with limited seating inside and two tables outside. Super cute spot! And it moves. Came in on a rainy day and it was packed. Tried the salted caramel and pumpkin spice latte. Both were delicious! Coffee is smooth and syrup is not overwhelmingly seat, you can still taste the coffee. Definitely Manhattan prices which isn't odd. On a slow day I can picture people on laptops but it is a tiny space overall. Cute decor. read more

Friend is a coffee snob so if they recommend this for coffee then I will too. I had matcha so I'm not sure if this makes this review illegitimate but the matcha was pretty good. Not watered down and actually tasted like matcha. I did add some sweetener which made it hit the spot. I did have it twice lol. No bathrooms so note that. Cute outdoor (and a few indoor seating). If you can snag a spot outside I think that's what really elevates it. Inside can get quite crowded due to the line. read more

Came here during the holidays because we heard good things about their espresso based drinks, so very grateful that they still kept the lights on even when other cafes were closed. Because of this, there was an influx of customers swarmed outside and inside the cafe, thus they had a sign that they were out of chai and oat milk, which I thought was very odd since the latter is an integral ingredient at a coffee establishment that serves anything other than cold brew. Came here trying to warm up after spending a day in the snow, and I wanted something savory for my breakfast so I chose the everything croissant on accident. Wonderful little coffee shop! We stumbled upon it while walking around and they had some seasonal flavoring. I opted for a decaf rose latte which was absolutely amazing! I got oatmeal get my husband got a chai with oatmeal. It was delicious! We also got a chocolate almond croissant warmed up and it was yummy. A solid coffee and espresso spot on Manhattan's Upper West Side on the corner of 73rd and Columbus, Black Press Coffee doesn't need much of an introduction. Due to Covid, no seating inside - but don't let that take away from your experience. Baristas are friendly, and know what they're doing. Espresso by Brooklyn's Parlor Coffee roasters. And not to mention some decadent pastries to beat. I really enjoyed the tahini chocolate chip cookies from The Good Batch. And yes, they've got oat milk and all of the regular other alternative milks, too. Even when I walked in 5-10 minutes prior to closing, they hadn't shut down the espresso machine yet and was ready to serve. read more

Came here today and was hoping to get the iced rose latte, but immediately started getting interesting vibes when I walked in. Would be almost $7-$8 for an iced rose latte with oat milk. Thoughts racing, I immediately backtracked and decided to test them with a cold brew with regular milk. Unfortunately, the cold brew was majorly flat and basic especially when there are other competitors in the area. The workers were nice, but the drinks don't seem to be my thing. I want to stop by to try the iced rose latte when I feel generous in taking a hit because I am worried the drink won't be up to standards/quality for the price point. read more

I ordered a large decaf oat milk latte and it was delicious. The cafe was also really nicely decorated and the person making my coffee was really sweet. My sister, my cousin, and I didn't stay long, but we really enjoyed the visit. They ordered some pastries to go. We even saw a state senator who was enjoying his coffee at one of the tables. I came to do some work on my laptop. The matcha was really good and very strong. The chocolate croissant was also really yummy, definitely recommend both. Wifi didn't work at all. I ended up using my hotspot, which was a little annoying. It's also super busy here. Everyone comes to either do work or chat with their friends. I came on a Friday at 11am. Not sure if I would come back to do work here, but if I need a quit caffeine hit, I'd come here and take a stroll in the park. But it's a little overhyped. read more

I always enjoy visiting local coffee shops, as opposed to going to the chain ones. One, the coffee tastes better. Two, the staff is usually pretty welcoming and usually not rushing. So I feel like they take their time to make my coffee extra special. Thus was no exception. I loved every drop of this coffee. I will definitely continue to support local coffee shops. Definitely enjoyed our quick pick-me up for the morning and had nothing to complain about! Cost: I found the cost of the coffee to be reasonably priced, especially in New York! Black Press Coffee on the UES is a new little gem that I have recently discovered. On the outside, this coffee fixture gave me a corporate impression that I usually try to stray away from, but I was completely wrong! Upon walking in, I encountered a friendly, inviting atmosphere as the barista at the register donned an inviting smile and answered my questions with patience. Black Press has a unique, modern appeal which keeps me coming back. The music isn't too loud which is another plus if you want to read or study here. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had the tumeric latte on the menu, as I've been meaning to get one for a while. However, I ended up getting an oatmilk latte w. cinnamon, which was smoothe and delicious. I'm excited to come back here for more delicious coffee and reading. Nice local coffee shop in UWS - love the aesthetic here and the iced lattes are fantastic (there are also some fun seasonal ones to try!). There's a few benches and small tables outside, where I noticed several customers reading and doing work. Would recommend for a good cup of joe. Also, I love that the latte cups come with strawless lids - there are straws available if you really want, but the "You don't need a straw" sign made me laugh. Kudos to Black Press Coffee for encouraging customers to be more eco-friendly! read more
