    Americano. Way better than SB
    Melissa D.

Ty Yelp for guiding us to the right coffee spot. Drove in from Vegas and wanted something different from the usual Starbucks. This place got great reviews and now I know firsthand why. Clean, colorfully decorated but not over the top, and most importantly GREAT coffee! Our server was working the drive thru and counter solo. I won't fault him for the wait time. He couldn't help it. Once he was available he efficiently and with a smile took our order. I had a hot Americano w almond milk. My husband got the doughnut holes to go. We haven't tried them so no review on them yet. The Americano was smooth, hot and dreamy. We will definitely come back before we leave town. Well done Black Rock. you serve the brew up right!

I shouldn't even give 3 stars but I'm doing it because I've never had any other bad experience here. Usually on the weekends I go to the Greenway location but I decided to try this one this weekend because the weekdays, they always do amazing with their Frozen Ble Lagoons. My Frozen Blue Lagoon I received today was literally just liquid and cold foam on top... is the frozen machine not working properly? If it isn't, this is definitely something that should be verbalized to customers if they are ordering a frozen drink. I've been coming here since I moved back to AZ in 2021 and have never had an issue but this definitely missed the mark.

    Mexican Mocha yummy

It's the little things. This morning this Mexican Mocha is just what I need. I can stop here but y'all want more. :-) I'm in East Phoenix, an hour from where I live, thanks to an early airport drop off. I was headed to another coffee business that I knew opened at 5am. I remembered having had Black Rock on a couple occasions and quickly searched for one near me. Score! I ordered my favorite drink, sat down, exhaled, and did some work, sent a few text messages and made a few calls until my next appointment. The decor is always on point, lively and welcoming. Driving the distance I did, a restroom stop is always required. :-) It was clean (extra stars) and no code required. Thank you! The barista Cassy is just the person you need on an early morning or anytime. She greeted me with a smile and later engaged in a brief conversation. It's the little things that make a positive difference in someone's day. My warm beverage is almost gone. Some may say I'm boring. I'd say I'm consistent especially when I find something I like. Black Rock's Mexican Mocha is a place of comfort. Exhale. Happy Friday! Life will bring challenges! Today, I choose joy. Every day my goal is to choose joy because I know the Lord is faithful! Be encouraged!

Medium Caramel Blondie Chiller (blended) and medium Hot Caramel Blondie
    Haneen O.

I do enjoy some Black Rock coffee in my life. On August 15 they were celebrating their 15 year anniversary by offering $2 medium caramel blondies - hot, iced or blended. I stopped by this location and did not have to wait to order. I decided to get two drinks: one blended and one hot for the next day. The drinks were crafted well and on the sweet side, which was expected due to the caramel. Baristas were friendly and accommodating. They have a rewards program where you can sign up and give your phone number every time you visit to collect points. I've accrued a free drink but usually order medium drinks so I'll have to use it when I'm in the mood for a larger size.

Loved this coffee shop. Coffee was amazing and ability to order ahead was so convenient

Came here for a quick fix on a recommendation from my dad. The coffees are in a "Dutch Bros" vein covering some creative sweet options, my Irish coffee was incredibly sweet, which I admit is not something I usually enjoy but it tasted like it was made well. The staff were quite friendly and the inside has ample working space with a casual vibe that encourages you to hang out. I'm giving it a 4 because there's quite a number of similar coffee shops, so nothing overly unique here, but it's executed well.

Happy staff makes great coffee! Certainly true for this coffee shop. Trendy look, clean, with unisex bathrooms! Oh coffee is pretty good too

This location has single-handedly been the backbone of my college experience and academic success. I spend hours here studying and getting work done, and the atmosphere is absolutely incredible. It's so refreshing to see people enjoying the beautiful weather while I work. The staff are young, fun, and always make you feel welcome, adding to the overall vibe of the place. My go-to drinks are the Mai Tai Fuel or one of their delicious blended coffees. I'm genuinely so grateful for this spot--it's a lifesaver for any student!

    Iced Caramel Blondie

Obsessed with tho coffee spot. Honestly my new fav. Too bad we do not have any back in CA :-( I really love the iced caramel blondie!!! So creamy and so sweet We came back second time and I still got the caramel blondie. My fiancé got the Mexican mocha chiller and the mint chip chiller!

Holiday cups still! I like it. Nice big patio!

Fantastic patio area, which is positioned perfectly for outside enjoyment. I really wish I didn't love their Mexican Mocha! I'm so addicted to it. I do want to try their americano too so I can taste what the espresso flavor is without anything mixed in. I'm sure I'll be happy with it, but until I breakup with the Mexican Mocha, it will have to wait. This location has a big seating area inside as well as outside. Barista was super friendly and they were also fast. I'll be back for sure.

I was in the area and felt like a coffee. The parking lot is large as is the seating area, both inside and outside. The coffee choices are pretty standard although they do have some unique choices and the prices are also fairly representative of the area. I had a latte. It was smooth and very enjoyable. They have a loyalty program that you should join if you are going to visit Black Rock Coffee more than once. There are quite a few on the west coast. Overall this place is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a caffeine fix.

You order first and then find a seat, so it's a little bit of a shuffle, but the woman behind the counter was genuinely helpful with recommendations and what's popular. And once we ordered, the food came out pretty fast. We kicked things off with the Big Dill appetizer, and when they say "giant," they're not kidding. It's a comically large pickle, seasoned up and cut into four spears. The seasoning was actually really good, nice flavor, the right amount of spice. I'll be honest: I'm not a huge pickle person, so I didn't fall in love... but if you are a pickle person, this is absolutely your moment. I tried the brunch burrito and it was a solid portion, filling, well-built, and the avocado salsa helped a lot (I was using it like a cheat code). The only reason I wouldn't come back specifically for that burrito is the flavors didn't really pop for me, and I wished the potatoes had more crisp and there was more seasoning on the eggs. It wasn't bad at all just not a "I'm still thinking about this tomorrow" type of burrito. The drinks though? Really unique, I had the French toast latte and the banana hazelnut latte, and they serve them in this super cool commercial can sealer setup. It's such a clever touch as if your coffee came with packaging confidence. Better yet, the lattes were actually delicious and you could taste the quality of the beans underneath the flavors. We also tried the Philly cheesesteak, and it's a BIG sandwich on what tastes like a homemade sesame hoagie. The "shaved ribeye" looked more like finely chopped/ground ribeye, but honestly... it worked. It tasted great with the cheese sauce and hit the spot. The fries that came with it were steak fries, cooked to perfection, with a few extra-crispy pieces mixed in (which is basically the fry jackpot). And then there was the avocado + burrata bagel... which might be the best bagel I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. The everything bagel was fresh, toasted perfectly, and the toppings blended together so well that every bite somehow got better than the last. I also tried the lox and it was worth the money, generous smoked salmon, capers, tomato, the whole deal. Bottom line: there's a lot to love here, and it's going to take me a few more visits to work through all the menu items that look worth trying. Come hungry, expect a line at peak brunch, and don't leave without that avocado burrata bagel (and maybe one of those sealed lattes, because it's just fun).

For our bagel, we ordered an everything bagel with charcuterie cream cheese, which I can best describe as everything but the kitchen sink - capicola, mortadella, salami, provolone, artichokes, tomoatoes, roasted peppers, pepperocini, olives and red onion - all chopped up and mixed into the cream cheese. Somehow it all seems to work in terms of flavor, but as for the bagel itself I wish it were a bit bigger and had more chew, although it was decent. The biggest disappointment was with our cinnamon roll and coffees. They were out of the regular cinnamon roll so we ordered the salted caramel one. The sad part was it was cold. I mean who wants a cold cinnamon roll, even the one at Cinnabon is warm. As for the coffees, we ordered the banana hazelnut and strawberry matcha. We assumed the coffees would be hot but were given iced coffees. Only later we noticed they can be ordered either hot or iced, and wished the server had asked for our preference. As for the iced coffees, I'm not quite sure I understand the whole concept of putting them in soda cans, as the foam got stuck to the top of the can and all the flavor sank down to the bottom.

I enjoyed the drink a lot, and I would easily go back and grab some espresso-based beverages or another pourover! The space itself is grand. The menu looked really good so my sis and I went to give it a shot since they also have baked goods. Walking in, the space was huge which makes sense as it's inside of chompies and I love that spot. We got some cookies from the bakery and it's weighed for pricing. The chocolate butter cookies were delicious but the other ones tasted a bit funny and not at all like butter cookies. We ordered an iced brown sugar oat milk shaken with cold foam and iced turtle with cold foam. The lady at the register was nice and asked if we really wanted cold foam, and we said yes twice. The coffee was taking a while so we walked around the area and looked at their merchandise but the coffees still wasn't done so we sat at the chairs and tables by the coffee place. The lady at the register stated that the cold foam wasn't working out and they are trying and asked if we still wanted to wait. Well of course we did cause we paid an extra dollar and some change for the cold foam. So it's odd that she was going to give us the coffee without it and not even ask if we wanted anything else in place of that. After what seemed like 15 minutes waiting for iced coffee we finally got it and as you can see from the picture, there was barely any cold foam. The lady was nice but the experience was lacking due to the order not being what we really wanted. Both coffees were sweet and it was not terrible. I'd go back for the baked goods only.
