Absolute fire. We sat at the bar and Shon was excellent. We got two medium pizzas (Hoi Boi and Moa Polu). The Hoi Boi was one of the best pizzas we've ever had - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Wowza! Fresh ingredients on a super light crunchy crust. This pizza is just good and you know it from the time you pull into the parking lot. Smells so good!! We sat outback and were surrounded by papaya trees looking out at the ocean while we dined. Service is friendly and timely. I recommend the breadsticks, pepperoni rolls, Honey Curry Salad with fruit, and of course PIZZA! The cannoli was ok, but you can pass it up to make sure you order an appetizer instead. This spot was a bit out of our way, but my wife wanted to make use of the car we rented so we made the trip. It was extremely worth it. Back in the mainland, we've had a hard time finding pizza that really hits the spot. I'm a huge pizza lover but my wife is not, and black rock pizza definitely delivered. I'm very vanilla when it comes to pizza, so I had the ultra cheese pizza, which is a 3 cheese blend. It was incredible. Super fresh, and the crust was probably in my top 5 ever. My wife had the Kona Waui and she loved it. It was a good blend of spicy and sweet. They also had a great selection of local beers on tap. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Staff was excellent. Food was super. And the view from the patio was amazing. Highly recommend this spot to anyone making the trip to Captain Cook. read more

I'm leaving two stars because I really like the pizza and eat here often. However, today, (12/1/2021 at 5:52pm), I had a really bad experience with a hostess that took my take-out order. When I placed the order in person, I was "greeted" by a disgruntled worker who seemed annoyed. I ordered two pizzas and was advised that it would be a 20-25 min wait. After waiting in the car for 30 min, I went inside to check the time. Was informed that the pizzas were still in the oven. After asking to sit inside and wait, the hostess rolled her eyes and "allowed it." I sat at a table for another 30 minutes waiting before proceeding to the counter to check on the estimated time. When I made eye contact with the waitress, she rushed into the back and grabbed two already packed, lukewarm pizzas. As my family was hungry, I rushed home to find one pizza was wrong and one was burnt. Needless to say I was not happy. Unfortunately, although the food is usually pretty good, this experience left a bad impression and I won't be back. read more

My partner brought in food from another place so that we could all be together and was not allowed to eat indoors . Soooooo good! We were tired travelers and needed this really yummy meal. Got the Greek and Vegetarian pizzas. The cauliflower crust is AMAZING - best I've ever had and you can't even tell it's cauliflower. Would really recommend it even if you're not gluten-free. The variety of drinks was also really good, and they're nice and strong if you know what I mean. Seating and service were also great, they were really helpful and patient and the patio in the back has incredible views especially at sunset. Definitely stop by! read more

We have a group with a variety of dietary preferences and needs and everyone had exactly what they needed and it was exceptionally tasty as well! The cauliflower crust for the one gf member of the group was the best she has ever had. It had a fluffy and crisp texture and a mellow flavor which paired so well with the toppings. Their sauce was zesty and displayed some truly lovely layers of flavor. We ordered one with jalapeños and they were chopped and placed in such a perfect way. My best pizza ever! We are locals and my family and I visited Black Rock Pizza in Captain Cook in May 2023. We ordered one medium Veggie Head pizza, one Moa Polu with cauliflower crust and vegan cheese. As side drinks I had an Ola Longboard Lager and my wife and daughter had the Dragonfruit Lemonade Cider. We loved the meal Though my wife and I had the Veggie Head pizza we also tasted the Moa Polo Pizza and loved it. Though I have to admit the Veggie Head Pizza was stacked with fresh veggies and cheese...just perfect. The three of us were only able to finish half of each pizza and we enjoyed the rest at home. Delicious pizza. So fresh and loaded. The price was a bit higher than a typical pizza but well worth it. We highly recommend giving Black Rock Pizza in Captain Cook a try. I had a pepperoni and pineapple pizza. Half smoked mozzarella and half regular mozzarella. It was so damn good! Perfect proportions of sauce, toppings and crust. Service was amazing. Our server was incredibly accommodating and was serving the entire restaurant. She noticed when my beer was getting low and remedied the situation as I finished my first beer. My partner is Vegan and our server made sure to bring two boxes for our leftovers. That is some on point service! The pizza was delicious especially with some hot pepper flakes. They had a bunch of beer on tap including a local porter, lilikoi (passionfruit) ipa, and dragonfruit cider.
