I cannot stop thinking about Black Sheep's burgers and shakes. I was in town for graduation and a friend recommended Black Sheep for dinner. I'm so glad I took their advice, the buns were soft and buttery, the meat patties were flavorful and moist. We also ordered you are smokin' fries. Apple and hickory smokes fries, loaded w/ sautéed jalapeños, cheese sauce, and we opted the pulled pork with Chipotle bbq. The fries were a hit at our table! Waygu burgers, sign me up! I end up ordering the foodie - double 4oz patties, Boursin style cheese, caramelized onion, candied bacon, w/ truffle mayo. Best damn burger I had in a long time. They offer varieties of sauces to try with your burger & fries, they bring a small tray with each sauce. Ranch, ketchup, smoky garlic mayo, chipotle BBQ, chipotle ketchup, truffle mayo, and sriracha mayo just to name a few. I'm a sucker for espresso so I ordered an espresso yourself shake. Espresso, salted caramel, funnel cake, coffee liqueur, frozen vanilla custard. The espresso and salted caramel balance each other out nicely. This shake lives rent free in my head. If I am ever in the city again, this would be on my top list to visit. Definitely would recommend you trying Black Sheep.

I ate at another Black Sheep location 6 or 7 years ago, so when I booked a nearby hotel, I knew I'd make a short walk for an awesome burger. Black Sheep has some interesting takes on burgers. You can find something to suit your mood. The fries are enough to feed 2 or 3 people. This downtown location is in an older building that suits the burger bar style of Black Sheep. Service was on point.

Fries are too die for!!!! I got the truffle and parm fries and also just the salt and pepper. 15/10 for the fries. Burgers were very good but I got the blue cheese burger and it was a ton of blue cheese almost made it to were you cant eat it bc the cheese was too strong! I wiped off some of the cheese and still ate the whole burger it was delicous! My son loved the hot doggie!! Will definitely be back.

Two words. Top tier!!!! Where do I begin? The vibe is great in there. Excellent decor and I love how it's set up. Has a laid back feel, but can still be a romantic experience for couples. The food is mind blowing. I ate there twice during my time passing through Springfield, and I'm disappointed I won't be able to walk through that door for a good while. The waiters are extremely helpful and very personable. You don't get the feeling that you're inconveniencing their day. On the contrary, I felt accepted and heard. The menu items are a play on words. Burgers are euphoric and the fries are absolutely delicious. You can't go wrong here with anything you choose.

When you have a limited item menu you better be doing it right. Black Sheep is serving up some amazing burgers, Wagyu burgers. Cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and full of flavors. House made pickles and sauces ( the chipotle bbq may be the best I have ever had). We ordered an array of different burgers, mine was the Born in the USA- delicious. The burgers are ala'cart so we ordered to buckets of fries (reg and sweet potato) accompanied by a sample of all available sauces- did not disappoint. Service was great, friendly and made us feel right at home. Small footprint downtown with a really cool vibe to the place.

I was greeted at the door and seated quickly. As a single diner, I was not forced to eat at the bar as I have bad knees and high chairs are not comfortable now onto the food probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. it was delicious. it was a single patty bacon cheeseburger. I think it was called. Don't be bacon me cry. I also had the sweet potato fries which were good and the assortment of dipping sauces made them excellent I chose a golden Road mango IPA, which I've had before overall a delicious meal and a reasonable price. Thanks to the staff at the hotel for recommending.

Arriving after a cross-country flight with typical airport and airline fare, I was hungry for something decent. A good, non-chain burger sounded like just the thing, and a local recommended the Blacksheep location downtown. They have others but he said that one was the best. I found it easily enough and was pleased to see plenty of free, on street parking. I walked in and took a seat at the bar. My server came over quickly with water and a menu, which I perused after ordering the salt-and-pepper fries my acquaintance highly recommended. They came quickly, were piping hot, and accompanied by five dipping sauces: a chipotle ketchup, plain ketchup, sriracha ketchup, ranch dressing and spicy aioli. The burger was a tougher choice. They have others menu had lots of gourmet burgers with off-beat names, so one had to read a fair bit to understand what you were ordering, I had one with white American cheese, house-made pickles and butter lettuce. I had them hold the onions and mayo-based sauce which it normally came with. The griddle prepared it "smash burger " style, which meant patties that were falling apart. Add that to the juice-soaked bun and it was quite messy! Plenty of napkins required. It was very flavorful but fell short of what I'd set my mouth for, which was a more traditional burger. Plus, the menu says they cook the burgers medium-well which is more cooked than I prefer. Q On the plus side, my server was quick and friendly, and the prices were pretty reasonable. On the minus side, this location is a little on the dive-y side, so just be aware.

OMG! The burgers and fries were amazing. They were served quickly after we placed our order and they were fantastic. We ordered the Truffle and Parmesan fries and they were so delicious. Our server brought us a tray with all the sauces to try and we enjoyed them all. There were three in our party and we ordered the Foodie, The Ugly Cheeseburger, and the Hippie Jen for the vegetarian at our table. I had the Foodie and it's one of the tastiest burgers I've had in years. If you're in town, looking for a good bite to eat, check this place out. If you love burgers and fries, you won't be disappointed.

Black Sheep is a great local eat in Springfield, MO! They are known for their unique burgers and shakes. Highly recommend don't go bacon my heart burger (4oz patty, applewood smoked bacon, black diamond sharp cheddar, butter lettuce, tomato, house made pickle, onion, smoky garlic mayo) and purple haze shake (home-made blackberry pie, blackberry whiskey, frozen vanilla custard). And cheese curds are surprisingly good as well!

We were on vacation and tried this place. Glad we did! I can't remember exactly what we ordered - everything has super-cutesy names that just don't stick in my head, but honestly all the burgers and sandwiches we had were delicious! Best thing though was the Parmesan truffle fries. It was a very generously-sized serving and comes with a selection of dipping sauces. Only complaint is that the burgers have a lot of toppings and are messy - which is totally fine, but it would be better if they were served on an actual plate and with a fork and knife if they can't stay in a shape that can be eaten as a burger! Service was friendly and helpful. Ambiance - it was packed and busy in there, but it wasn't overly loud. Loved the flavors, definitely recommend.

We were in town to visit Missouri State University and stop in here for lunch. Definitely a good choice. I like the modern rustic vibes of the place and it seem to be quite popular as it was packed during lunch time. We order the burgers and shared some fries. The gourmet burger was absolutely delicious as well as the truffles fried. They also have vegetarian burger option. The fries came out with several different sauces for dipping. Service was great. We were waited in my one of the nicest and sweet waitress in the Midwest.

More adventures off Highway 44. This spot came highly recommended by fellow Yelpers, and locals alike. I'm one to always see what all of the fuss is about. There are a few locations throughout Springfield. This is the downtown location. The space is on the smaller side. We were able to snag 2 seats at the bar. Maddie was our bartender, server, and...... She was hospitable, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. The menu is fairly simple, burgers, fries, and shakes. There's a cocktail menu, full bar, and beers on tap. I decided to try their interpretation of the piña colada. This wasn't anything I have had before. It has rum and pineapple juice. Instead of coconut cream they add a generous dollop of their homemade custard. This is not a frozen cocktail, the addition of custard takes the place of coconut cream. My only suggestion is that this drink could stand to be a little colder. Otherwise l, a delicious and interesting interpretation. Burgers and fries... the beef is good quality. Buns are a beautiful toasty brioche. Additional ingredients range from cheese, bacon, and brisket along with the more traditional toppings. I went with a bacon burger and it definitely rates pretty high on the burger list. We were told Black Sheep has the BEST fries in Springfield. Well, I don't take anyone's word and decided to give the truffle and Parmesan cheese a try. Super crisp on the outside pillowy soft on the inside. Salty savory cheese and truffle were the perfect combo. The meal was filling, but I would be remiss to not try the milkshakes. We took them to go. I had Maddie surprise me and ended up with a caramel cookie dough milkshake that I have since been dreaming about. The coffee milkshake comes highly recommended by my companion. This was a fun experience with delicious food. My only complaint is that they close at 8pm! Next time I'm in town, we plan to visit again.

I thought i had posted this, but it was still in draft... This is a great place when you are craving over the top burgers and shakes! Holy moly, it's decadent in a hipster burger joint way. My teen son loved the shake (I think it was the Elvis?) and smashed his burger (too fast for me to get a photo!) and my husband and I shared a burger since we weren't feeling super hungry. Every bite was crazy good. The fries were crispy and the different sauces were fun to dip into. Service was super friendly too. We would definitely recommend, but not if one is watching one's diet... this is a splurge type of meal.

Finley Farms is the Ozark Mill along the Finley River that was purchased by the daughter of Johnny Morris (owner of Bass Pro Shop). We started with brunch at the Ozark Mill restaurant. Then walked the grounds, including an old bridge. Last year we had to cancel a reservation due to our friend's illness, this year we decided we can't wait for our friends anymore. We have to take matters in our hands and come by ourselves. We don't need no stinking chaperone !! We arrived early to shop in the Finley farms shop and check out the ozark Mill. The brick parking lot is beautiful and inviting, we absolutely love the history behind the Ozark Mill, and we're excited to see how gorgeous everything was on the inside. I was slightly concerned that my expectation was gonna be way way way out of bounds considering I've been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for four years. Shockingly the experience was so much better than I had anticipated. We love that we're able to check in upstairs and have a codeword to check into the speakeasy type restaurant downstairs. Not to brag but I still remember the password! We were blessed to be the first couple seated and it was fun that we got a booth so we could check out the other tables and really soak in all the ambience . Our waiter Chris is top notch. He is knowledgeable, quick to help and very authentic. Per his recommendation, we decided to have the Garrison experience which is an eight course meal. We decided this isn't happening all the time so let's go big so then we can go home. To prepare for the dinner of a lifetime. I did decide to do a 24 hour fast so that I would have every nook and cranny of my stomach ready for the amazing meal that I knew was to come, boy was I glad I did. It's obvious that one can tell the skill of a chef based on how everything tastes, what separates magnificent from excellent as when something you typically hate ends up tasting surprisingly good. I have always hated cheese. I know this is a cardinal deficiency in my palate , but it's just the truth. When I saw that there would be French and soup on the eight course meal, I quietly decided that I would just not partake in that course. When I noticed shrimp was on that same meal I knew my husband wouldn't take part in that since he hates shrimp. I figured the experience would be fine if we just didn't eat some of the things that were served to us. Shockingly enough everything was delicious. The girl who hates cheese, devoured her French onion soup, and the man who despise a shrimp decided the shrimp was actually pretty good. Wow !!! That's saying something. We of course, also had to partake in the signature cocktails. I had the molasses cocktail and my husband had the Garrison. Later, we shared the Boulter and my husband was able to have a glass of wine. Our eight course extravaganza took three hours and we loved every second of it. Kris was there the whole time warning us not to fill up too early since there was delicious food ahead. Not a piece was bad things that we typically hated we loved and we left knowing this was the night that will always remember. I am pretty sure this is going to be our standard anniversary, got a promotion, daughter got engaged sort of restaurant where we will mark big occasions with wonderful memories at the Garrison. On our way out, Brandon was sweet to help us. Take the epic Garrison photograph in the tunnel. Thank you, Garrison. You knocked it out of the park.
