I got a cartilage piercing and she got a flat. Lizzy was our piercer and she was great. I totally recommend her. It was $50 to have this done, unless you want to upgrade the jewelry. There were ample choices of the regular ones though so that wasn't a problem, I did not check prices at other places so I don't know if this is typical. They recommended coming in after a few weeks so they can resize the piece, after swelling goes down. There is no extra charge for this. Any future adjustments are free as well, even if you purchase the jewelry elsewhere.

After waiting 53 minutes in the lobby with no updates, we asked for an estimate and were told there were still "a couple more" people ahead of us. At no point did anyone proactively communicate that the wait would be significantly longer than promised. When we expressed our frustration, staff didn't ask if we wanted to remain on the list--they told us they would simply remove us from it. We chose to leave. The owner followed us outside and asked what he could do to make things right. A genuine attempt would have been offering immediate service, a discount, or a gift certificate for the nearly hour-long wait. Instead, when we explained why we were upset, his response was, "You've gotta work with me here," before walking away. Delays happen. Tattoo and piercing shops get busy. The issue wasn't the wait--it was the inaccurate estimate, lack of communication, dismissive attitude, and complete failure to take responsibility when given the opportunity to resolve the situation. I've spent plenty of time in tattoo and piercing studios and understand how the industry works. What I don't understand is treating potential customers as though their time has no value. Based on this experience alone, I would never recommend Big Brain to anyone.

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling issue, the artist I had originally booked with months in advance was no longer available. With vacation time approved and an Airbnb already paid for, this could have easily turned into a stressful situation. Instead, Alanda jumped in--and I couldn't be more grateful that she did. She took those reference photos and transformed them into something completely unique, creating a piece that far exceeded anything I could have imagined. What truly stood out was how personally invested she was. This wasn't just another appointment to her--she was genuinely excited about the design and honored to bring it to life. That level of passion made the entire experience feel special and meaningful. She even stayed late beyond our scheduled time to make sure every detail was perfect, never once rushing the process. The Piercer was amazing and professional and clean. My son is not a fan of needles and of course this is right in front of his eyes. He closed them and did great til the end- and this is where the piercer shined. My son immediately afterward went white and clammy. They gave me what I needed to care for my piercing instead of telling to go buy something and they said that if I had any issues, like it coming out, to just stop by and they would take care of it. They also said when I'm easy for a change, they would do it, which will be soon. They also had a really awesome selection of nose jewelry I hadn't seen anywhere else other than the regular rhinestone studs.
